Beautiful venue but not worth it. booked back in 2018 for our wedding in October 2019. We spoke with a lady named Hellen who showed us the castle room which we loved how it looked and fit our theme. During the showing and contract Hellen stated the room sits 70 to 120 people. She also stated that since we are having our wedding on a week day. We could use the room next door for a dance hall or to hold the ceremony. Contract was signed and off we went. We went to a tasting back in February 2019 which was good. They didn't Serve all items they had to offer. Sad since I was doing family style and I had to guess for some food if they would be good or not. During this time I spoke with Hellen again regarding chir covers and tables. She said that white, black and ivory were free for table. Hellen never mentioned there was sizes or anything. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND. In end of September 2019 I sent an email regarding our food choices, table, and chair covers. A different person contract me named Christina asking me about our final count. Mind you final count number wasn't due till 2 weeks before the wedding. I asked to meet to go over something's thinks due to I wanted to clarify somethings.My husband, my father and mother in-law, and me heads over and meets with Christina. During the meet she was trying to upsell when we said no and admitting she was trying to get us to spend more money. Christina make comments about my wedding since it's on holloween that she has had issues in the past from other wedding causing damages and being crazy. I told her it's not going to be like that. She then said table covers are $10 each and on top of that the room that was offered to me was now booked for another wedding... I was shocked and upset. We went in to the office and I asked questions about how was this going to work with 2 wedding be so close to one other. Christina responded with the DJs need to respect one another.... I was taked back by this comment. I then ask what about the bar? Since it on my side how was that going to work? Christina responded with theres a window and there will be another bartender. Christina then asked would we be married the day of the wedding? We told her yes... During this time I asked when was this other wedding booked. She responded with the day after you did. Me not know what to say next I left. Now I recieved a packet from Hellen in the beginning so I looked at it. I seen that there where so many issues so I returned 3 days later and spoke with Christina. I asked more questions as the following.Why are the tables covers $10 when here in this packet I was given by Hellen it says black table covers are free and even Hellen tolde they were?.How are DJs going to respect one another when there job is to entertain.? When toasts are being made are we going to hear them or is it going to be a battle of the DJs?.Finally why was we offered, promised and not contacted about the room next door?. Christina kept saying it's not in the contract so I don't know what you want me to do. I need to talk to the other party since they booked 2 months ago... I looked at he and repeated 2 months ago? To which she replied yes... I was so upset I asked for Hellen who did the contract and said do you two not communicate with one another? At no time did Christina get Hellen or offered a solution or compensated for all the hassle. To which I said why can't they go upstairs since I was the first to book, no one look like they want to fix this. Christina said I'll talk to the other party and we will see. We left I was still upset since the day was getting closer.4 days pass and I recieved and email from Christina stating. The other party had similar concerns regarding the DJ and they were going upstairs. I responded with thank you and I'll see her 2 day before the wedding to set up.The day of set up... I head over to Royalty west banquets with me mother in-law. As we are setting up Christina and her employees kept spying on us not saying a word. We felt uncomfortable and upset but we tried to pay no mind and finished up.Day of wedding.I got a lot of complaints that the place is beautiful but the staff are horrible. The bartender had an attitude with my guest. The waitstaff took long to serve food and clean off tables that my Dj,videographer and photographer ended up saying something. Due to not clearing off tables they kept running over my guest and myself not saying sorry or anything. One of my guest said something and she said ok I'll go around... And just like that she ran through people again not caring. If your wondering about the food I was cold... I was not happy about that.. We asked for my top tear cake which should have been wrapped and in a box... So I think... I was given to us in wrapped on the sides with plastic/ tinfoil no box.Now what I hope you wonderful brides take from this in shorter terms please go somewhere else. read more

Wedding planning is such an amazing and fun process... Yep... Let's face it people... It's rough these days attempting to find a place that offers everything you want for a reasonable price! We shopped around a LOT! Most places that fell within the "banquet hall" category were outrageously priced for a dinner / drinks package. Other places that were more along the lines of "thrifty hall" locations were cheap yet required a lot of work on the part of the renter. Royalty West was more than we could ever have asked for! We had a Renaissance Faire themed wedding. We made almost everything that was incorporated into the event as well (even our outfits and those that were worn by our party and family). Unfortunately, due to the rains in the Chicago area we were canceled out of our outside ceremony site and left for the reception hall early. Royalty West was so accommodating it was absolutely amazing! While the finished preparing our meal we had our ceremony on the dance floor. The ladies who assisted with setting up our event even poked their heads in to watch which was fine with us! Dinner was to die for! It far exceeded our tasting and our expectations! We had the Chicken & Rice soup and Potato salad to start. We moved on to our Family Style entrees which included Chicken Devoli, Roast Beef in Mushroom Gravy, and Veal Meatballs with Rice & Dill Sauce. Our sides included Roasted Garlic Potatoes, Sweet Corn, and Potato Dumplings. There wasn't one complaint about the food! People were cleaning their plates! The servers and bartenders were absolute delights! One bartender knew that there was only one thing on the menu that I could have. He also knew I was the bride and was prepared without me saying a word to him every time I came near the bar! Even if I was talking to someone I would turn around to a full drink! When I politely asked that our head table be broken down for the band to begin *pow* It was gone! People have been telling us that it's the best wedding that they have ever been to and I realize that is mostly due to our planning... Some of that goes to Royalty West though! They were absolutely great hosts and so reasonably priced that we couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else! Even the dozen or so crashers from upstairs had a better time at our wedding than the one they were at! ;D read more

I was SO excited to have my wedding reception here. I was looking for something unique. Let's face it, no one remembers the wedding in a hotel banquet hall and that doesn't fit my fiance and I anyway. I found Royalty West and it was perfect. A castle with a nice ballroom, knights that greet you, awesome grand stairways. I was in love. We were hoping to have our wedding on November 2, but they were booked already. Darn. I was told November 9 was available and so I had to have it. I spent the next month trying to find an available chapel and dj for the 9th before booking Royalty West to make sure it would all work. All the while, I kept in touch with at least 2 employees via visits, email and phone to make sure the date of the 9th was still available among other things and was consistently told that it was still available. So today I went with my fiance. We signed the contract, once again checked the date of November 9 and cut a check. I was more excited than you know because I had found the perfect spot and was able to get a chapel and dj reasonably priced available on the same day. Not 30 minutes later...I get a call from Royalty West. SOMEONE ELSE HAS THE BALLROOM BOOKED FOR NOVEMBER 9. Um what?! Did this just happen?! No, it had been booked since August of this year. So at least 2 employees have for a month believed and told me that November 9th was available? My advice to you if you love this place like I did would be to talk to all three of the employees there that handle bookings and stand over their shoulder as they check both the calendar AND the book to determine whether the hall is available. I am still in shock and very sad. read more

Very beautiful place and it looks like a castle! Perfect for the bride who dreams of having a fairytale-esque wedding. My favorite thing about this place is the bartender. He was an older gentleman who at first sight looks like he can pour a mean shot of whiskey but nothing else. That's what I get for judging a book by the cover. This grey haired gentleman could make everything from gimlets and old school martinis to apple martinis, long islands and creative shots for groups of at least 15! Kudos my friend. Now back to the space: overall very cute and interesting but the location is definitely off the beaten path so plan accordingly. read more

Wow, I thought for sure that I'd have been the only person to review this wonderfully kitchy and strange place. Seeing as I was recently here for a funeral luncheon, I'm not sure that I can really, fully appreciate the kitchy-ness. Upon driving up, my family and I immediately noticed the castle design and wondered what we were in for. As we walked in, it was so cold in there that it felt like a real castle - part of the experience??? The Royalty West is a banquet hall facility with a number of rooms for all kinds of occasions. Guests are greeted by large suits of armor and big tapestry highbacked chairs. We almost expected some kind of wandering minstrel. But, oh yeah, we're at a funeral. The room we were in was nice. Great bar in the corner with a very knowledgable bartender (ok, just cuz we were in mourning doesn't mean we can't kick back a few, people) who made excellent bloody marys. In fact, all of the employees here were really wonderful. Very friendly and fast. Each table of ten was loaded with German favorites - pork loin in gravy, chicken schnitzel, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, and weirdly enough, spaghetti bolognese. I didn't have a lot of options for food choice so I had the mashed potatoes and the sauerkraut. Potatoes were good - reminded me of the kind we used to get in my high school cafeteria. YUMMY! The sauerkraut wasn't very yummy. I also had one of their warm, buttery rolls. Those were awesome. Everyone else who ate said the food was just ok, but we're not sure if it's because the food really wasn't that good or we were all just sad about the situation... Overall, I'm not sure this is the place to come for a funeral luncheon, but I could see how it might be fun for the right person to have their wedding reception. Good service, great bartender. My friends had their wedding here this past weekend. The place is picturesque and has a rustic feel. My only complaint is that a lot of the servers only spoke Polish. I understand that this was a Polish wedding, but we are in America and it would have been nice if one of the servers had said "you're welcome" to my numerous "Thank You's". I'm still giving this 4 stars and I think it's a spectacular place to host a wedding. The bartender was so friendly and really knew how to make a drink. I had my wedding here just this past weekend (September 26, 2015) and ensuring was flawless on their part!!! They accommodated me with anything I had asked for & Christina kept in constant touch with me & always responded to my emails within 24 hours. All of our guests raved about the dinner!! I honestly can not remember the name of the main dish, it was a chicken dish with broccoli and cheese.. Anyway, the night was perfect & we could not be happier. I just asked my new husband if he had anything to add & all he did was that the beginning of dinner started a little slow, but we both believe it was due to the volume of guests that were at the open bar prior to dinner service & the wait staff had to wait for them to be seated so they were able to move efficiently to serve us. I recently attended a wedding here. Talk about kitschy fun! The outside is supposed to resemble a medieval castle or something. It also has a little water fall, a little bridge; very picturesque area for photographs. Upon entering the place, you see two large chairs, fitted for a king and queen flanking the entry to the bar. There are two large staircases leading up to the top level where the party room is. Lights and flowers adorned the banister. At the top of the stairs is really where you get the best view. There are large windows overlooking the parking lot and it really is breathtaking, right at dusk. The room was set up very nicely. It was all lit up with organza-like material wrapped around the poles to hide the lights. There is a bar at one of the room and a small stage at the other. A dance floor breaks up the room perfectly. The place is great for any type of gathering. The food was served family style and I'm not sure of all the options, but we were served corn, mini chicken kiev, stuffing and turkey, beef, chicken, dumplings, pasta, etc. Basically a smrgsbord's of stuff. Overall, the place was great. There's plenty of parking for everyone and the food was decent. Most of the staff was very nice, however, the bar staff was pretty surely. read more

The hubby and I had our reception here last fall. We looked at it because of the look of the place. We are a little different and didn't want a cookie-cutter reception venue. We chose it because the food is good, top-shelf bar, cake is included and the price was competitive. We were in the Ball Room upstairs which is not as medieval as the rooms downstairs, but it fit our guest list and it was still lovely. There is an elevator in the kitchen that they had no problem letting us use for a guest in a wheelchair and some others that just had trouble with stairs. There is also a large balcony off of the room next to the stage for any smokers so you don't have guests going up and down stairs each time. Pretty helpful with an open bar! The bar itself is huge and beautiful. Also permanent unlike some you've seen that are wheeled into the room. The fresh polish sausage and finger dumplings were amazing and the favorite of all of our guests. There are different options for food, but we choose family style. Everything was beautiful and turned out perfectly for our reception. They did a great job for 200+ guests of ours and we had a wonderful night. FYI for brides....unless something has changed, they do not have a special or cheaper meal for your vendors. They could have seated them in a backroom for meals, but we didn't use that option so I don't know what it's like. read more

I had my wedding here two weeks ago. The wedding was for almost 300 people. First of all, try to work with Christina. She is great at her job. Since the wedding was so big, I had a lot of questions and needed a lot of help. She responded to all of my emails within 12 hours. It felt like she was always on my side, unlike a lot of the other Polish banquet halls that only want your money. She delivered with every request. Absolutely great customer service. They let us come early to welcome early guests and we stayed for an extra 30 minutes afterwards, without an extra charges. The servers were professional and quite fast. The bartender was also quite good. The food was okay, which is why I'm only giving 4 stars.However, unlike other banquet halls, RW allows outside catering in addition to the food they provide. Since the wedding was so large, we got an appetizer table, a sweets table, and additional catering at 11pm for the late guests. All of our compliments about the food were about the extra tables. Overall, I would recommend this place. The venue itself is really beautiful and they have wonderful customer service. But if you plan to have a large wedding, cater food from outside vendors. read more

The staff was extremely friendly and easy to work with. Even during a pandemic we felt assured our family and friends would be treated to a safe and fun evening. I had a great experience having our 4/21/18 wedding at Royalty West and working with Christina. She was always able to accommodate my requests and answer my questions quickly. She was very laid back and helped me stay relaxed throughout the planning process. I LOVED the food and so did our guests. My menu included cream of chicken and rice soup, beaded pork cutlet and I was able to have a gravy without mushrooms, chicken kiev, dumplings, mostaccioli, viel meatballs, and roasted garlic potatoes. My guests were primarily American and they loved the menu. Best of all, this venue is very affordable and the final total was actually a bit lower than what I had projected. My decorations were placed exactly how I asked and everything looked beautiful! The service staff were prompt and things were brought out quickly. The only thing I would consider a downside is that the bartender wouldn't pour straight shots, only mixed ones. Christina was there to help with everything and at one point even had to rally my husband and I back into the building for our first dance because our pictures were taking a while. The venue even allowed our wedding to go a bit later than I had paid for. The next morning, I was able to collect my decorations and they kept the boxes for me to use. My husband and I booked the Royalty West the very first day we went to see it. We were looking for something unique and fun and a venue that looks like a castle, more than fit that description! It just got even better the moment we walked in and saw the beautiful staircase, I could already envision the pictures we could take there. And if the venue wasn't amazing enough, Christina was so great to work with! Every question I had she answered right away and continually put my mind at ease. We were able to come in a few months prior to see a table she set up for us so that we could see exactly what all the tables would look like for the actual day. When it came to the day of we could not have been happier! We could not do any outside photos because of the weather, but the inside of the venue is so beautiful, our photographer had no problem finding places to take photos and every single detail was absolutely perfect! We picked the family style package for dinner and open bar with a signature drink. The food was phenomenal and the bartender was fantastic! We still have guests telling us how great everything looked, how good the food and drinks were and how fun the bartender was. Christina was also there start to finish on the day of for anything we needed. There were two other weddings the same night, but we hardly even noticed and if we needed her for anything she was never hard to find. If you are looking for a venue that is unique, beautiful, with good food, great drinks and an amazing staff, this is the venue for you! read more

I attended a small party at this place a few weeks ago. Everything was horrible. The worst food ever. Some sort of chicago beef sausage dinner. Sausage pink, chicken dried out, beef? i don't know what it was?? leather strips...Servers beyond nasty. No one appears to be enjoying their job. I saved the worst for last...our room shared a wall with another room but they leave doors open because the bartender serves drinks to both rooms. They had a loud dj we had a 3 piece acoustic live band. Very difficult to listen to real music with a lousy dj blasting away. We looked into this venue in 2012. It was very awesome to look at from the outside. It caught my eye. However, it is very dark on the inside and "smelt like a wet fart" according to my husband. It was like a mildew smell. The lady who showed us around was not a great sales lady and was asking for a grand up front. My husband almost passed out because we were looking and didn't even get to ask questions yet. When we asked about a cash bar only (to save money and we aren't really drinkers) the woman was even more rude. She acted like she never heard of this request. She was even a smart a-- and told my husband that if he thinks writing a check for $1000 up front was a lot then he should just go to a court house. i have never written a review but this time i decided i needed to warn other couples, here is my experience. I am not even sure where to begin to express mine and hubby's dissatisfaction with Royalty Banquets. First when we booked the place a year ahead of our wedding day we were not told that there will be work done on the building which made it look very unappealing to the guests. If we had known we would look for a different venue, unfortunately we did't find out until we went over to Royalty two weeks before our wedding to go over the reception details. At the reception the chairs were not matching but when we were signing the contract we asked if they have enough wooden chairs we were told " of course ", there was not enough seats for the guests, only after we asked to add a table we had the number of chairs we asked for ( trust me we counted it because the blame was put on us by Helen when we told her we there were not enough chairs set up ) next the bride and groom were promised two different chairs kind of like a throne ,come to find out at the reception those chairs are broken ( !!!!!!! ) . I realize that all of this might seem like " little things " but if it's your big day all of this matters and unfortunately in our case it all added up and made us very unsatisfied. Would recommend this place! Have been here for 3 different occasions, and have absolutely nothing negative to say! The first occasion I was here for was my sister's wedding about 5 years back. It took place downstairs in the castle room. There was a coat room, very easy access to your coats and personal belongings, I don't think the boy left the room once! Second occasion was my brother's wedding in June 2014 that took place in the upstairs Grand Ballroom. The food was great, we had pineapple chicken, baby reds and green beans (what I remember). Everything was hot and full of flavor. The staff was so sweet, our waitress, who looked quite young, was very quick and up to par, brought us everything we asked for in the blink of an eye, very smiley and friendly. The third occasion was just a few weeks back at a friend of my fiancé's wedding. We only stayed for dinner due to us being exhausted from work, but the place still hasn't lost it's charm! The more I observed the room (upstairs Grand Ballroom) I noticed cute, little details, like knights in shining armor in the corners of the room, lights that matched the color of the party placed under the curtains around the room. Adorable! Me and my fiancé plan on having our wedding here next summer, he and I can't stop talking about the place! Out of all 3 times I have been here, I honestly have nothing to complain about. I just attended a wedding at this venue yesterday and there were 200 guests in attendance. The positives I seen in regards to this venue: 1) The room is very large and the tables were not set too close to one another 2) The dance floor is also very large. 3) There is a stage to set up a DJ or a band. 4) There is sufficient amount of parking 5) The outdoor area were the ceremony can be held is very nice 6) The center pieces that they offer for rent are very nice 7) They have a grand stairway to the room The negatives that I seen in regards to this venue are: 1) There was only 3 toilet stalls available for the women 2) They did not set up enough seating for the ceremony 3) The service was terrible - it took 1.5 hours to serve dinner 4) The food was the worse I have had in a very long time (cold and tasteless) 5) They serve your drinks in very small glasses 6) They would not serve the bridal party during dinner read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. My fiancé and I had an appointment to meet with someone to discuss wedding packages. When we got there, the woman who we met first was very short with us and dismissive. She told us to just go wait upstairs. When we got upstairs we told her how many people we would have at our wedding and she kept telling us they couldn't accommodate 175, but we could get 200+. We asked her why and she could not answer any of our questions. She acted like we were a burden to her. We finally asked to speak with a manager. The manager was just as rude. She said - you can have your wedding downstairs, which you already saw. We never saw the downstairs... We went into her office and she kept telling us how she would want our wedding to be, she would not listen to what we were saying we were already set on doing. We left very angry. The place is beautiful, but the staff talked us right out of it from the second we stepped foot in the building. read more
