Being of polish heritage; curiosity had brought me to see changes; since covid; first hit. I loved the archway when you walked in; and was pleasantly surprised to see new food vendors. Great addictions were Mazureks Bakery, Bacik vendor, who has her own cooking show on Sundays in the evening , and Polish Cadets. Learned in addition, how the polish decorative eggs are made and the work and skill that goes into it. The rest of the festival was the same status quo. Liked how one didn't feel crowded in the food tent. Great job organizers.

There is a tennis net, volleyball net and basketball court. There's also a playground and plenty of shelters. Usually there are soccer or baseball games going at the entrance of the park, but it never seems to get overcrowded. If you're looking for a green area, here you have it!

I learned the park is 16 acres large and has been around since 1899! The old trees are a sight to see, and the area feels like you're right in nature. The playground is vast and somewhat outdated, but the kids don't seem to mind. Many events take place here, too, including performances by the Aurora Players Theater and the Rotary Bandstand. Cars aren't allowed, and parking is limited; you might have to find parking on one of the side streets. I noticed there are restrooms too, and a couple of picnic shelters. Leave your beer, your dog and your snowmobile at home; they're not allowed, along with some other items you might want to look up before venturing out. It's a great public park and worth a stopover to relax and enjoy nature on one of the benches or bring a picnic and enjoy your time at one of the picnic tables. Truly, something for everyone.

The park had vendors, people were picnicking, kids were playing, there was a band and baseball field. Hamlin Park was out of a Hallmark Movie. Hallmark should not only continue to use Viddler's as a location for movies, but should also include this park for a summer movie location. The Bisons Event team absolutely nailed it. The food was fantastic, the service was impeccable, and the venue space itself was perfect. From a planning perspective, the entire day was completely seamless. We didn't have to worry about a single detail, which allowed us to be fully present and cherish every moment with our guests. John was attentive, accommodating and so friendly. Jarrett took the time to come down and meet us and check in on how things were going. We cannot recommend hosting an event and working with you and your team at Sahlen's Field highly enough.

Tables were set up so we could put the sheets pizzas that were ordered and snacks people brought to share! My teacher friends, our significant others, and myself had a blast bowling!!! The bar was in a separate room with more fun games to play also. The customer service was top knotch and we can wait to go back bowling soon! The large soccer field in the center is perfect for practice as there is a large catch net behind the goal posts so you aren't chasing balls all over. Plenty of parking available, several shelters available for rent, and the greenery is beautiful. I have not tried reserving a shelter yet so I cannot speak to it. There is also a small pond where you can fish which is AWESOME. It's such a nice place to just take a walk or relax.

My biggest complaint was the fireplace is supposed to automatically turn off at 8pm. A little before 6:30pm there were a few people left sitting by the fire and it shut off. The room cooled down quickly. That was kind of upsetting with how much you pay to rent the space.

They should do it correctly and right, when they consider the crowds that frolic and play here. A lot of investment and work is needed here before the park sinks into the sunset. Park is closed after sunset so don't even think of coming here to enjoy the Milky Way or meteor showers, etc. Police will come chase you off.

Stopped by here on a Wednesday evening for a free live concert by the Kensington's. The park was…read morenot very crowded with only a few hundred people attending. Parking was convenient and free in a grass lot across the street. The band put on a marvelous show even though it was a bit chilly on a late May evening close to the lake. The park has an interesting mix of walkways, lawns and interpretive displays explaining the rich maritime history of the area. Restrooms were in the form of porta potties and a full range of concessions were available on site including warm and cold food and a wide selection of alcohol. As the evening progressed the band continued harmonize some complex tunes including an incredible rendition of The Rolling Stones 'Dead Flowers' and the Beatles 'A Day in the Life'. The views from the park were amazing with the bandstand in the foreground and Riverworks lit up across the river. Certainly felt like the place to be. Free concerts during the summer every Wednesday.

It was pretty but it's more or less just a place to park. No activities to do around the park unless you hang at the beach. There weren't any trails or anything to do for fun. Kind of boring.

Darien Lakes State Park is not the amusement park. It's the state park and campground less than 15…read moreminutes from the amusement park. If you like the amusement park, and like to camp, and need accommodations, staying here will save you a huge change chunk. We camped here for the first time last summer, mid-August. It was our only kid-free camping trip of the season. The hub'ster and I had concert tickets at Darien Lake Amphitheater (basically in the theme park), and made a getaway out of it by staying here. The proximity to the concert was great. We didn't get sloshed, so drove back and forth to the show, but the desk told us that Ubers are a safe, easy option for transport that campers who are concertgoers use often. Speaking of the front desk, the staff was excellent. Very friendly, offered up useful suggestions without us asking, happily replaced our parking tag when I accidentally ripped the first one. It's nice when customer service staff goes above and beyond to make sure you know what you need to know. We stayed on electric site #22. The site was grassy and pretty level, with good shade. It was a larger site that we could actually wrap around, instead of having to back in. That's always winning in my husband's book. The bathrooms here were kept very clean, probably the cleanest state park bathrooms of all our camp travels so far. The facilities weren't new, but they were well cared for and tidy. Great job facilities crew! The park's amenities include a small lake with fishing and swimming, some sports courts/fields, great nature trails, and pavilion/picnic areas. I believe there is disc golf too. The hubs and I relaxed at the beach, and explored the trails. There was definitely more trail to trek than we had time for, so we're looking forward to getting out there again someday. Both my husband and I enjoyed our camping stay at Darien Lakes State Park very much. We ventured into nearby cute lil' Alden to poke around a bit, relaxed on the site, had a great time at the concert, and didn't miss our kids for a second! In our defense, it was only 3 nights away. Give it 4, and good-mom-miss-my-kids vibes would have probably kicked in. Probably.
