Gorgeous new facility with lots of kennel space for dogs, cats, and other small animals…read more The parking area is large with wide spaces which is useful if you need to get animals in and out of your car. There are two entrances to the facility, but the public is most likely going to head to the adoptions entrance. Inside, everything is clean both in appearance and smell. Hallways are clearly labeled. Head to the left if you are interested in cats and straight ahead if you are interested in dogs. There is a clear wall that allows you to peer in at the cats. This first area is several kennel spaces with holes in the walls allowing the cats to be social and to explore. The holes allow them to move from one perch to another. Very cool concept. The dogs that are front and center also have a clear wall making them fully visible from the lobby. A sign says that these dogs are the longest residents. I'm saddened because I want to take both of these cute, big dogs home with me, but I have neither the space nor money to add them to the two big dogs I already have at home. Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is a nonprofit organization now running the volunteer program at this shelter and several other shelters in DFW. If you aren't able to adopt, consider volunteering just four hours a month with this shelter or your own local rescue. You can help make a difference in an animal's life, even if it is just an hour of your time.

Rates of distemper, obesity, ligament tears, increased aggression, diabetes, cruciate ruptures all increase. Why is there such pressure to mutilate your dog with minimal to no benefit. As a Creature of Habit and bit of a loyalist when it comes to patronizing a business, I was…read moreresistant to changing veterinarians after taking our fur babies to the same vet over the past seven plus years. However, when it comes to our fur babies, my wife has the final say! Hence, it was she who, after having a bad treatment experience with our regular veterinarian and one of our late felines, she sought out and decided to give over care of our babies to Dr. Muhoho and North 78 Pet Hospital (N78). The decision to entrust N78 and Dr. Muhoho came about after my wife researched N78 and read on their site that they offered advanced dentistry care. This was a major factor at this point in the lives of our fur babies, because the aforementioned bad experience involved a dental issue with our feline that eventually resulted in us losing her. Thus, my wife was intent on NOT having a similar experience with our feline Oliver "Ollie" Twist, who was having issues with his teeth. That was about a month ago. Fast forward to today and Ollie is on the mend and doing fantastic! All thanks to the care he has received from Dr. Muhoho and N78! Ollie - originally a pet feline turned feral feline with an imbedded collar that required surgical removal... turned pet feline - had been over-grooming and vomiting up mostly undigested food for a few years. Our regular veterinarian erroneously diagnosed Ollie's issue as allergies, resulting in over-grooming, resulting in hair ingestion, resulting in vomiting up his food. Wash - rinse - repeat! And, because of this past bad experience, my wife decided N78 was the better option. Or, at least worth checking out and giving Dr. Muhoho and N78 a chance at helping Ollie. As it turned out, Ollie needed to have seven teeth extractions. He came through his dental surgery very well, and as of today, his gums are healing nicely. He is also adjusting well to his dietary changes, has only vomited up food once or twice in the three weeks since his surgery and, he is no longer in pain. Ollie is now a happy HAPPY Boy! Thanks again to N78 and Dr. Muhoho! Dr. Muhoho is attentive, caring, thorough, and communicative to pet mommies and daddies about their fur babies, and has a great bedside manner! As a business, N78 staff are friendly, personable, yet professional! The business itself is clean and well-maintained. The entire experience we've had with N78 has been great from the outset! I am genuinely grateful that my wife decided to give over the care of our fur babies to Dr. Muhoho and N78! They have our trust and I sincerely believe they are worthy of yours likewise. Loyal for 5+ years... but the moment I spoke up, I was shown the door…read more I've brought both of my dogs here for over 5 years and spent thousands along the way -- never once a "thank you" or any acknowledgment of that loyalty. Lately, scheduling visits and auto reminders disorganized with unclear communication. When mistakes happened, I calmly expressed frustration (no yelling, no cussing -- just a concerned pet parent trying to understand). Instead of listening or trying to make it right, they basically told me they didn't want to be my vet anymore. After years of trust and business, that's the response? Our pets deserve attentive care, and the humans paying for it deserve a little respect. I truly hope they improve how they treat long-time clients in the future.

I wasn't ready to let my puppy go, and so I told them to go ahead and schedule everything. They're very easy to communicate with and reply relatively quickly for a busy medical center. My dog is also grumpy at the vet, so I always called ahead and made sure to mention it. They have muzzles of all sizes, so I would muzzle her every time we went just in case. According to the vets and vet techs, she's a good girl! But I just want to keep everyone safe and comfortable. When it came time to get her leg amputated, Dr. Goodwin was the only vet who was able to do it. Dr. Goodwin was also the one to diagnose her, and she was there every step of the way. She kept in touch with me and updated me very often!

My sweet Pitbull was attacked this morning. She had several puncture wounds through all layers of…read moreskin. I called several places to see who could see her immediately and kept getting put on hold and turned down by everyone. This animal hospital let us bring her in immediately (30 mins away and we were making these calls from the car ready to go). Everyone there was so kind and informative on what they were going to do. We left for a few hours while they put her under anesthesia and gave her some stitches and a drainage tube. This dog is my favorite thing about life and I take her care more seriously than my own and I felt very safe leaving her with them to fix her up. Overall I had a great experience and I'm now planning on making this her regular vet since I just moved to Texas. Amazing service, amazing care, and amazing veterinarians. Thank you all so much.
