But the workers there were very nice and explained some important things to to before coming there. Sort your items by: 1) plastic bottles less than 17 oz 2) larger bottles but all bottles must have the HI recycle logo by the upc code 3) aluminum cans 4) bottles * remove the caps off all bottles You get paid more per pound for the smaller plastic bottles. If you only have a couple bags it won't make too much of a difference.

As i had items to drop off at Goodwill that's just two steps away from this location at the Park and Ride in Hawaii Kai, i did have not a lot but a few recyclable items in my car and decided to just redeem them. Super convenient location with lots of parking options at this spacious lot as all i needed to do is place my items in the provided gray trash bins and get it processed...sign and poof! The service is nice and fast no need to drive and line your car up like some other location super easy and basically no lines the process to recycle a chore and with a few bucks...$3.20 to be exact in hand I'm happy. She said she got top dollar for her recyclables. I went to test it out... The drop off driveway was blocked off with 2 vehicles. It's not a looped traffic pattern. So, I went to the next driveway and was told it's the area for scrap metal. That's ok... I can walk over with my bags of plastic bottles... I gave my bags to one guy who emptied my bottles into a large, square, plastic netted container on a scale. He signaled the weight to the cashier who had me complete a form and gave me the cash. I was guessing that I would get around $5. However, I got over $7 Yay! I'll be back! Thanks for the tip, Irene!

After a few rounds of taking in recyclables understanding the process does take time but is totally worth it in the long run as C M Recycling is now gonna be my go to place to have it all processed as it was the easiest as along we follow all the rules. Rules are standard regardless of where you take them have it all sorted out and cleaned no caps and gosh it does make it so easy especially at locations like this where there isn't room for parking as there's just two stalls as this biz sits right on Sand Island Access Rd. so if there already a couple of cars there just wait on the side which many do until they're done and allow them to reverse out so that you can drive forward in. Once there the staff takes your items and load them into a huge basket and is being weighed and just fill out and sign the form and that's it super simple and easy and honestly I think it get much more in return here than an any other places that I've been to and I don't need to touch any yucky stinky trash bins. Hours are 8-4:30 and closed on Sundays but so fast and easy and totally recommended. Thank you!

After my physical therapy session in Kaka'ako finding a spot to recycle was easy as a Yelp check and had no idea that this location right across from the Kalihi Palama Health Center was available and with a quick drive through downtown it was so easy to find and with a surprisingly decent sized lot there was lots of parking to unload your recyclables to the usual provided bins to be processed was just too easy as the guys have a wonderful system with one putting it in the bins to be weighed as the other calculate it I was done in an instant. There's also a T&N Recycling Service bin as well where you can drop off your electronics which is free to do so and is easy as just placing them in the cute little hut as you're able to get multiple disposable done is nice and convenient so there's no additional drive to do so is so recommended to visit this location. Recycling in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. I had a bunch of cans and plastic bottles in my car... ready for the closest Recycling center. I used my Yelp app and found RRR Recycling on King Street. There were a couple of customers before me, but the two workers were efficient and quick! I poured my cans in one green plastic barrel and poured my plastic bottles into another green barrel. The worker emptied my Recycling into other gray barrels - and scanned for undesirable bottles - which I didn't have! My items were weighed and I got paid. I didn't have to sign anything (like at the other places). It was a bit less than what I was calculating (because I had counted my items)... that's ok... just a few cents... I'm grateful for the convenience! I'll be back!

It was a bit challenging to find a place that's open on a Sunday, but Monster Hi-5 and Tires is open daily from 8am to 5pm! Easy! Just enter and leave on Waialae Avenue... it's a one-way driveway, next to Asahi Grill. No one says anything. I just followed everyone else, poured my cans into a gray trash barrel, moved it forward as the line creeped closer to the weigher, entered my name and number on a form, and collected my money... Simple! And I DID NOT get ripped off! Thank you!

After a long day of adulting and getting things done one item on my list was to drop off recyclables and thought that this Waialae location would be convenient looking at the hours on Yelp knew that I had time as it shows it closes at 5pm but as I arrived slightly before that and was delighted to see that no one else is there making the drop off easy and stress free. The driveway isn't that big and could probably fit a couple of cars but it was an easy process and got it done very easy but as I was unloading noticed that they started to close the entrance and was surprised since it was just 4:45pm, the staff is nice and got me on my way fast. Just happy that I made it on time and didn't have to return another day. Thank you!

Shhhh.. I was giving away my recycle bags forever, but.... No more!…read more I always wondered how much people get for my bags of cans and bottles. Well I finally decided to recycle my own cans and bottles myself. Being a newbie at this I chose a place that has lots of easy parking and looked clean, unlike a lot of recycle businesses. RRR Recycle in Kapahulu which shares the same parking lot as Side Street Inn is that place I was looking for. They checked all the boxes and was so easy for anyone can recycle. All you have to do is separate the cans, plastics and bottles in the plastic trash bins provided(Green or Grey it doesn't matter). Stand in line with your bins, they take it, weigh or count it your choice and give you your money! $$$. Well it's money I never had, but it was so easy to do that I'll continue to do it. It was fast and you'll feel a whole lot better that you did it.

They were crowded lots of people were waiting I believe they were just finishing their lunch too . This place is very strict they wanted all the caps off from the plastic bottles. I remember way back when it was announced on the news that you can leave the caps on for your plastic bottles for recycling. Oh well I'll be going back to my other place for recycling because they don't care if the caps are on lol .

I've been in this area in the past as it shares space with T&N Computer Recycling Service which takes various electronics for free as it was the perfect place to dispose of my super old old old TV worry free making it a convenient time saver stop if you have multiple items to recycle at this Beretania St location. You can't miss the huge lot they occupy which probably makes a huge draw to many though for me personally was a it annoying. As we all follow the rules that various location prefer us to do to process it all the wait for just a small load took awhile especially with those that have huge loads as I don't like to wait and hoard this isn't the spot for me, the only positive is lots of parking and the convenience to recycle your items in a single spot to get your return on the deposits. Normally when I recycle all my empty cans of seltzer water that I drink, I like to go to the…read moreMonster Hi-5 and Tires recycling plant to recycle my cans, but one particular day when I was trying to go to Monster Hi-5, the lot was extremely full as they had a shipping container in their lot to do a pickup of the recyclables. Stuck with a few garbage bags of cans in my car, I decided to head down on Beretania Street and stop into the - RRR Recycling plant. What can I say about RRR Recycling? 1. The recycling plant is busy & pretty crowded. The wait to process my cans took awhile. 2. The customer clientele is mixed...........you got the "regular folks" who once in a blue moon come into a recycling plant to turn in their recyclables. Then on the other hand, you have the "other type of folks" who recycle like their life depended on it! 3. While I patiently stood in line, a scummy lady actually tried to take a trash can full on my recyclable cans. Can you believe it??? Of course she looked the type of person in the category of - "other type of folks", if you know what I mean. Lol! After a long wait, when I finally got to the processing area, everything else went through smoothly. On the bright side of coming to this recycling plant, there is ample parking here, so access is much easier than the recycling plant I normally go to with Monster Hi-5. Although it's a hassle to recycle, I'm pretty sure it's a good thing to do for our environment.
