I received a written "Binding Moving Estimate" for $2,800 based on 103 pieces and 1,037 cubic feet. I specifically told Rob during the quote that my belongings had filled a moving truck in the past, and I was told the move would be $2,800 as long as I did not add items beyond the inventory. No one performed an onsite or video walkthrough beforehand, and I never received the quality-assurance call I was apparently supposed to receive. I also had to contact the company myself the day before the move because no one had told me when the movers would arrive. When the crew arrived, I was immediately told my belongings looked like approximately a full truck and that my estimate only represented about half a truck. I was then told the move could cost around $8,000. This was extremely confusing because the furniture they were looking at was already included in my disclosed inventory. After calling Rob and negotiating while the crew was already in my home, Manny agreed to $3,600. During the move, one mover repeatedly asked us to transport smaller belongings ourselves. We ended up making about three SUV trips and three delivery-van trips ourselves, in addition to the items we already planned to move personally. Even after that, their truck still filled up, and our bed frames and a desk would not fit. At delivery, before my belongings were unloaded, I was suddenly told the amount due was $3,800--not the $3,600 we had agreed to. I had not been given anything in writing documenting the $3,600 price, and all of my furniture was already on their truck. I felt I had no practical choice but to pay $3,800 through Zelle so my belongings would be unloaded. I was never given a final invoice explaining the additional $200. While unpacking, I also discovered that the movers had used three PackMark wardrobe boxes for our hanging clothes without asking us. We had already bagged those clothes because we planned to transport them ourselves. No one asked whether we wanted wardrobe boxes, told us what they would cost, or gave me a revised written estimate authorizing additional packing materials. I cannot say for certain whether those boxes caused the unexplained $200 increase because I never received a final invoice. The move also resulted in $449.96 worth of damaged furniture: a $39.99 shelf, $179.99 bar cabinet, $139.99 TV stand, and $89.99 TV stand. I contacted Rob the next day asking how to file a claim and emailed the company multiple times. I eventually received a response asking for more information, but the valuation coverage of only $0.60 per pound per article had never been meaningfully explained during the quote process. PackMark's own website says local New Jersey moves are billed hourly and lists 3 movers + truck at $175/hour. My pickup and delivery were both in New Jersey, only 21 miles apart, yet my estimate classified the move as "Residential Long Distance." Their long-distance page also advertises "Price Lock Protection" and says there are no "you used more space" increases at pickup, even though that was essentially the reason my price increased. The crew members were personally nice, and I want to be fair about that. But the overall experience left me feeling cornered and taken advantage of. I disclosed my inventory, received a $2,800 binding estimate, personally transported multiple extra loads, was charged $3,800 before unloading, had packing materials used without my approval, received no final invoice, and ended up with nearly $450 in damaged furniture. If you are considering PackMark, get every price change and additional service in writing before anything is loaded, request an onsite or video inspection, ask what packing materials may be used and what they cost, and clarify whether your move is being treated as local or long distance.

I called for an estimate and spoke with Jerry who was very helpful in explaining to me all the different options available and pricing for each of them. The price was reasonable, and this was a company paid move, so I opted to go with the full service package, which includes the packing, loading, shipping door-to-door, paperwork at customs, and delivery to my apartment in the city. I have to say that this was all relatively new to me, but it worked really well. MORGAN SHIPPING did a good job, and I am grateful. They gave me a lot of helpful information on how to pack some of my personal items and the crew arrived early and started packing my TV and big items. Then the big truck with the container arrived on my street in Oxford. We had to block the street to be able to get it as close as we did, so we left one guy to watch the traffic. The landlord was not happy with the big truck blocking the street, but these guys were mindful of not scuffing the walls while moving the big stuff, so he was happy with that. Mike, the head crew was the best. He was very patient with me and very efficient with the guys. They worked the entire time without taking a break. My friend was there to help. She enjoyed watching these guys packing so organized. Jerry from the office was checking to make sure everything was fine and that I was up-to-date with the required documentation for exports, etc. After they left, Jerry sent me an email with the arrival of approximately 30 days. When the container arrived in the US, Surina from the customs office was very nice and helpful in explaining the taxes and everything. She got the container delivered the following day with no problems. I have so much stuff that it did not fit into my small New York apartment so I asked them to store a few items for me. In the end, the overall shipping processes door-to-door was about 27 days. I was a little nervous with the process and the move. Moving companies do not carry a good reputation in general and there seems to always be negative experiences no matter whom you speak with. This, I can honestly say, is not one of those instances. I go back and forth between Oxford and New York work constantly for work, and I'll continue to use Morgan Shipping when I need to move my belongings.
