Quite bad New Mexican food. Tamales were horrible soggy and tasteless mess. Chile Relleno was heavily breaded and filled with what appeared to be velveeta. Chicken enchilada was barely larger than a taquito but decent. Service was decent. Interior largely nice but we were seated near a corner with very bright exposed light bulb, broom mop etc in full view. Outside patio was not open even though perfect weather in mid sept. read more

I was here twice in one week, the first night the manager at dinner gave us a card for free appetizer with a meal or drink purchase. The next time a few days later when we went back the evening supervisor was unable to redeem our coupon and we had to pay for the appetizer we ordered. This has become a regular stop when back in Aztec. It's good authentic New Mexico Mexican food. They pass the sopapilla test. The enchiladas are tremendous. The wider than normal choice of draughts is another plus. The 4 stars instead of 5 was simply because the papas were simply mashed potatoes the last time I was there. read more

Darn good food! Chimichanga was really good; fish tacos were outstanding (two was plenty), and the sauce to drizzle over them was just right; the black bean and corn side dish was the perfect compliment to both. read more

Food is consistently delicious. From chips & salsa to sopapillas. Attentive servers. Carne adovada smothered red is highly recommended but only if you like it smoky and SPICY, as I do! The food here was pretty good. Everything had pretty good flavor and we were happy with what we ordered. Things could have been a bit better seasoned or warmer but, in general, we were happy. My boyfriend and I were Driving through town on my way back home to Durango when we thought we'd stop and give this place a try. We were instantly greeted by the bartender and he said that we could sit wherever we'd like. Not too long after sitting, a waitress came over to take our drink order and she handed us menus. The service was pretty quick and super friendly. Not to mention the food was amazing! After traveling up north for the summer it was really nice to finally get some delicious tasting Mexican food. I would highly recommend this place if driving through the area or if you want to try a new restaurant in the Four Corners area. read more

OMG, the chicken enchiladas were fantastic. Best I've had outside of Texas. My husband and father sat in the bar area on a Saturday night and enjoyed ourselves. The waitress was attentive and accommodating. We asked for specific details to our food and everything was perfect. I think this is a great place to stop in and have a beer on tap. Having been to Rubio's on several different occasions, I find myself disliking it more every time. My husband is Mexican and all of his thousands of relatives in the area and I have yet to find anyone to "sing praises" to Rubio's. Staff is friendly and courteous of course and I do like the outside patio. Not the cleanest place in town though, by far. Always hesitant to visit Rubio's but due to the unwarranted good word of mouth, in my opinion, I'm sure I'll be drug there again. read more

I would come eat here for some very mild "commercial " Mexican food when I would get literally burned out at the real deal Mexican places in Farmington. Today I got enchiladas the size of a nice doobie not an enchilada. I didn't know they could be rolled that small. They served awful packaged honey with the sopopilla; really? My mom and I had lunch here today figured I'd give rubios one more chance, it was VERY disappointing !!!!! We get sat down and the server gets our drink , chips and salsa. The salsa vas good but the chips were horrible! They tasted either waaaay over cooked or old and very hard. We get our food and there was very little green chili on my enchiladas, the beans and rice were horrible!!! The beans taste canned! Seriously refried beans is the easiest thing to make and not hard to cook. We were very disappointed with the food!!! The food was tasteless and blan ,Not even salt could help the food I'd rather eat Taco Bell then rubios. The owner was there and you would think he'd go to tables and see how everything is, very unprofessional !!! We will not be back here again. Delicious Mexican food. Very pleasant atmosphere. Good service. Inexpensive. Our party of three ordered fajitas for two and an order of tacos and it cost us 36 dollars. Everything was fresh and delicious. The flour tortillas were superb. You can choose to eat in the patio area or in the bar area with live music or in a regular dining room. Very family friendly. Located on an attractive main street in a small town with great ancestral Pueblo ruins nearby (Aztec Ruins National Monument). read more

Food was good. Medium steak came out medium rare, but we ate anyway because was good. Dessert was meh. Wait staff needs training. 1. Suggestions and advice are good for those having difficulty deciding. Refrain from patronsing tourists. They have eaten Mexican food, but may just be unfamiliar with local items on your menu. 2. People sometimes have more than one beverage with a meal. Ask if they would like another. 3. Clearing dishes when customers have finished eating is a common practice. Clearing dinner dishes before serving dessert is standard practice. Dinner dishes stacked up and placed on corner of the table is a big sign that you are not doing your job. Collecting the check while reaching over dishes which have been stacked with all napkins and silverware placed on top, is shameful. 4. Management, having a 25% gratuity (based on meal + tax) figured along bottom of check is obnoxious given your wait staff is more in the 15% range. read more

The food here is always good, but their service has gone downhill. The past few times I've been there have not been a good experience. The waiters acted like I was somehow burdening them by being there, and the last time I went no one came for me at all. I sat in the "wait to be seated" area for a good 15 minutes. Several staff walked right past me and didn't even acknowledge that I was there. I finally got up and left. Most of the people who work there have been there for years and their attitudes have turned sour. I can't blame them for hating their jobs, but I still expect them to do their jobs and treat customers well. read more

Great find for lunch. Good service. Full bar with microbrew beer. Nice variety on the menu. Tasty food. I'd go back again.

They have awesome beer on tap! But the service is awful! ive been in there several times and you hear staff members cursing at each other and the female manager is awful!! She never seems to care about the costumers and is often heard as well cursing at staff members. Very very unprofessional if i say so myself. they are slow and just dont seem to care. i think they need a new manager and even some new staff members. will not return nor will i recommend going in to this establishment. read more

This was my families second time to eat here and both times were bad experiences. .. The first time I ordered the 2 chili rellano combo. It however did Not come with rice and beans. I then had to order rice and beans to go with it and by the time they came my food was cold. We then checked out and my meal alone was $22.00.. (So not worth the price for the quality.) So tonight we thought we would try it again. We were sat in the bar area with our 2 small children ages 3 and 5 to start. Minutes before our food arrived a group of younger adult moved from the bar to the table right next to ours and every other word was f this and f that. Very disrespectful and out of line with 2 young children present. The manager was not 5 feet from them and never said anything to them. Our food finally arrived and my husband had ordered Carne adovada which taste like nothing more than wolf brand chili and chili powder. I however tryed the chili rellano again and to my disappointment it was not cook properly. The breading was still doughy and the cheese on the inside was not even melted. This is not a FINE FAMILY DINING in my opinion. I will not be returning ever again. read more
