They accommodated our dietary restrictions quiet well. We enjoyed walking around the properties trails, the fire by the creek, and visiting with the hosts. Private entrance led to a large bright room with microwave and mini-fridge, tv, table and chairs and very comfortable king sized bed. The light colored bedding, long flowy ivory curtains and the sound of the creek right outside our windows created a very romantic/peaceful vibe. Bathroom is large and nicely appointed. There are two private patios, creekside, just down from the house. My boyfriend and I enjoyed sitting by the fire, listening to the water and sipping Prosecco. Then there was breakfast.....SO delicious. Stan made us what I would consider a very cheffy/gourmet meal; salmon, potatoes, eggs, fruit salad, english muffin and his homemade raspberry butter. Coffee and great conversation with Stan and the other guests made for a really nice time. Hummingbirds galore, places to hike and admire nature if you chose, or sit and just relax. It's also close enough to town to be most places within a few minutes. Wonderful experience, thank you Stan! Would 100% recommend and we hope to be back.

When we arrived, the check-in woman said that Hotwire had allocated our room, which had a queen bed for three people, without a sofa bed. I said this wasn't appropriate for our group size, but her suggestion was that we call Hotwire and cancel the room. This just didn't make any sense. I asked if they could change our room, but she insisted this would be an upcharge of $50. Then I asked if there was a supervisor who could clear up this problem, although this woman also passed the buck to Hotwire. I assumed they must be full that night, but no, they weren't. They were just cheap, argumentative, and irrational. After haggling for way too long, the manager finally agreed to provide us a suitably-sized room, but "just this once." WTF? This was appalling customer service. I'll add that this is a dated Holiday Inn with run-down rooms and amenities, and without a working pool. (They didn't have any gluten free options at breakfast either, so why should we pay more to receive less?) Two stars for the serene view of the river, zero stars for the absolutely dreadful customer service.

The furnishing and lamp shades were badly worn and/or torn and there appeared to be something smeared on the wall as you entered the room. When my husband checked at the front desk about getting another room, the clerk initially said there wasn't anything available. When my husband started got irritated and mentioned how nasty the room was with other hotel guests nearby, the clerk mysteriously was able to find another room. The second room was slightly better, but this place is WAY overpriced for the condition it's in!

We booked two nights here when we were in Glenwood Springs, and it was a pleasant surprise. The motel is impeccably clean, both the grounds as well as the room. The bed was large, cozy, and comfortable. We asked for extra pillows and towels, and the staff happily obliged within minutes. The only downside was that our room did not have a mini-fridge, but we used ice to keep our drinks cold. The TVs here have more channels than any other hotel or motel I have stayed in, including nice properties. You have the full cable channel lineup as well as several premium channels like HBO. Our room was upstairs and we enjoyed sitting on the "porch" outside in the chairs and having drinks and talking. Others staying here occasionally sit outside as well. Despite being so close to the highway, the room was extremely quiet at night. A few restaurants are within walking distance, including an authentic taco truck, El Taco Express. I would happily stay here again and will recommend it to any friend traveling in the area.

PROS Excellent location…read more $200 night/4th floor room was not bad for Aspen (between seasons). A/C, gas fireplace(we did not use). Sliding window for cool night air. Front staff was friendly (Karen & Matt). Room was a good size + balcony. Even though we were on the street side and a block from bus terminal, you could barely hear outside noises. Free breakfast. Decent choices. One different hot entree daily. Clean room, but very outdated. I was told that the property was sold and eventually will be renovated. Cleaning lady said they thoroughly clean the window screens on a regularly basis - impressive. CONS Small bathroom, tight door access was hard to get around. Mis-matched room furniture (a few pieces could have been removed). It would have been nice if the hotel gave us an information sheet about the hotel (garage, street parking, pool, bar, etc.) when we arrived. Tight garage, only one entrance for in/out. Make sure you use the keycode at the top street entrance of the garage. Door opens automatically when exiting. Bar was closed. The whole place is in need of paint job, carpets changed, etc. Does not look like it has been cared for in a long time. Carpet and furniture stains found. Limited street parking. Parking sux in Aspen - everywhere. Public parking garage is several blocks away. One elevator for guests and house cleaning.

They let us check in a lil early. Had some complimentary coffee/tea/hot cocoa. The room was spacious with a kitchenette. There's so many amenities in this hotel like a heated pool, sauna, jacuzzi tub, library, etc. and don't forget their complimentary breakfast which changes menu daily. For Sunday they offered Eggs Benedict. They also had side dishes like a variety of fruits, yogurt, oats, muesli etc. such a treat! I see why so many people here stay for a long time. Highly recommend if you're in Aspen

Terrible experience. Expedia won't help us either. Manager promised us after the first night that those partying guests had left and wouldn't be staying there the second night. We later discovered they were his friends and he was drinking with them. The cops were called and came out multiple times, but they just started right back up again. The second night was even worse, almost like they were being spiteful after knowing it was keeping my pregnant wife and baby up all night. Yelling, fighting, running around, throwing luggage down the hall, running, stomping, bouncing off the walls, cussing at other guests from 9pm to 6am. At one point they were trying to get into our room. The manager originally mentioned offering a discount for the trouble, but when we asked him to do it he said he couldn't. Expedia also won't do anything. Room was subpar, but that was to be expected for the price. The room door lock didn't work, our keys didn't work and we had to get help multiple times, the bathtub and sink didn't have stoppers, we had to ask for clean towels multiple times before we finally got them, continental breakfast was oatmeal and cereal but no accessories or anything else. Our feet were black after walking on the room floors. Still waiting for manager to call us... Update: After leaving this review, the manager just called at 9 o'clock at night to harass me and curse me out. He was clearly drunk again and slurring his words and not making sense.
