Placed an order online for pickup. Picked up my order and the waitress who was helping me was wonderful. Extremely friendly. Sadly, that's the only good thing about it. I added the salad bar for 4.99, and I understand that some items may not be available due to covid however, no croutons, bacon bits, or eggs (that I noticed). The lettuce was brown, the vegetables were dry, the pasta salads and such were old and dried out. Got to my hotel (less than a mile away) and sat down to eat and my mashed potatoes were ICE COLD. I've been here twice recently. Both times, the wait was the ubiquitous 15 to 20 minutes. Later, I found out it was because the kitchen was slammed, but the place was not terribly busy. Then, I waited to be served for a while. Finally, the food was mediocre at best. The second time I went with my wife and our adult daughter. This time, we waited thirty minutes or more for our food to arrive. I suspect the manager is in over his head and should be replaced! read more

After picking up my nephew from VMI, we stopped here to get lunch... I got the ribeye steak medium with green beans and salad bar... my sister got the salad bar... one nephew got the chicken strips to start off with and cuban sandwich... the other nephew got the rib and chicken strips. The chicken tenders were okay... as I ate it though, I was thinking the Tyson frozen chicken tenders were better.... the salad bar was okay.... My steak came out, started to eat it and I swear I ordered Medium, but it came out medium well... since we were pressed for time, I just ate, we paid and left... typically most restaurant undercook their steak... so if I asked for Medium, it would come out medium rare... but restaurants all operate differently... oh well, next time I'll order medium rare :) read more

My family's TERRIBLE experience here started as soon as we walked in the door. When the hostess asked if we'd prefer a booth or a table, we said it didn't really matter but would like a table. As we are walking through the restaurant, she brings us to a BOOTH. I was confused she even asked if we'd prefer a table or booth, if she was just going to give us a booth. But we walked by so many empty & clean tables. Though we don't mind booths, we had to move because the booth we were given was in the direct sunlight, in which the shades couldn't even block. It took the waitress about 5 minutes to come out with our drinks (I know 5 minutes isn't a LONG time... but for 3 waters and a lemonade.. it is). The waitress blamed the bartender for taking so long on my lemonade (which was alcohol-free, by the way). We put in our order (4 salads) as well as an appetizer. About 20 minutes later, our waitress comes out with the wrong appetizer. And then she made it seem like we ordered the wrong thing. Another 20 minutes goes by, and we still don't have our correct appetizer OR our salads. 45 minutes is not a reasonable amount of time to wait for food, especially appetizers. We decided to talk to the manager, and let him know that we didn't appreciate the long wait in such an empty restaurant, and that we were leaving. Since we partially felt bad, we told him we would pay for our drinks, which was about $5. Instead of apologizing and telling us not to worry about it, the manager accepted our $5. Doesn't really seem like a good businessman to me. Thank god we are not from around this area, and don't have to even see this place again. Great food, amazing service, and the manager (Duff) made my family and I feel at home! Will definitely return anytime I'm driving thru!

Hardly know where to begin. We have been to this restaurant several times over the past few years and it's always a little bit of a crap shoot what you're going to get. Most common problem is having to wait for a table in a restaurant that is 2/3 empty because management won't staff the kitchen or wait staff adequately. In yet another triumph of hope over experience we decided to try again last Friday night. Arrived at about 5:30 and we were seated almost immediately, but with a warning from the hostess that our waiter was dealing with another table and it would probably be a few minutes before he could get to us. The restaurant is less than half full at this point. We're seated and given menus. It takes between ten and fifteen minutes for the waiter to get there and ask if we would like a drink and appetizer. We ordered drinks and, as we had already had time to thoroughly review the menu, we gave him our dinner order too. He left and we went to the salad bar. We finished our salads while waiting for our drinks and entree's to arrive. The entrees arrived about fifteen minutes after we had ordered, but no drinks. Asked the waiter where the drinks were and he went off to check. Came back a few minutes later to report that the bar was "slammed" and it would be a few minutes. He then proceeded to studiously avoid even making eye contact with us, much less stop at the table to see if everything was OK, for another ten minutes or more, until I managed to get his attention and told him to go tell the bartender that we were going to walk out unless we got our drinks NOW! Off he went again, apparently on a mission to avoid us until sometime next summer. At least another ten minutes passed until he finally arrived with our drinks, fully 30+ minutes after we ordered them in a restaurant that was half full! By this time I was 3/4 of the way through my dinner as was my wife. This was apparently a new waiter. It is clear that he was not adequately trained or prepared for his job by a completely incompetent management. He never should have been put on the floor, and I blame management for that. I also blame management for not adequately staffing the restaurant. It it was really taking half an hour plus for the bar to get drinks to customers, it needed more bartenders. I guess lousy service to customers is preferable to paying more help. Will never go back here, or to any other RT. read more

Yes, I saw the awful Yelp reviews before we came here. I weighed the options against what I wanted to eat (fresh! with veggies!) and our remaining trip time and decided to give it a shot anyway. I was not disappointed. Firstly, the place has clearly been renovated since many of these reviews. The decor is comfortable. The restrooms were clean. The place was doing a brisk business... busy, but no wait. Service was great. Our server was on top of our needs and we have no complaints whatsoever about that. The salad bar was fresh. The waldorf salad was especially delicious. Our entrees were fresh and delivered in a timely manner. The coffee was fresh. This is important when you're taking a break from a 1500 mile road trip. Considering what you would reasonably expect from a chain restaurant serving American fare, this Ruby Tuesday's location meets the expectations. The only reason the place gets 4 stars is because I won't give any Ruby Tuesday's 5 stars until they reduce their prices by about 15%. If you're passing through and just want fresh, predictable, not-too-fancy American food go ahead and give this place a shot. We liked it just fine. read more

Will not be returning....ever. A few weeks ago we came to this Ruby's service was ehh ok nothing special food was good though and I didn't use the restroom and since the food was good service not horrid I decided to take my in laws visiting from out of state out for dinner and all I can say is embarrassing as I hang my head down in shame. 1. said 20-30 min wait turned into 45min wait ok I can deal with that. 2. Took forever for server to bring our drinks. 3. Restrooms poop in toilets fly's everywhere like it was there breading ground, no soap no paper towels had to wipe my hands on pants. 4. They brought the kids meal out first which I normally don't complain about as I am assuming my food will be arriving shortly but 10 min for mine and my husband min later my husbands grandparents than 5min after that my mother in law got her food than 10 min after that my older son and father in law got their food. 5. When they brought my father in laws food they forgot his side of mac & cheese so now had to wait for that and drink refills. 6. They don't have teaspoons only big serving spoons like huge so you have to bring your own from home if you have kids like toddlers to eat mac & cheese. Our food was good but wasn't worth the long wait and not being able to eat all together the purpose of all going out to a sit down place is to eat and enjoy time together etc. and I'd like to wash my hands and not to attacked by flies in the process. So I'd advise anybody to keep driving on by there are lots of places in Lexington you can go to. read more

Came here 2 nights ago very late (around 10:20) and ordered take-out. My husband and I were really hungry and exhausted (from a cross-country road trip) and were looking forward to our first sit-down meal in what seemed like forever. The bartender that tI understand that we ordered our food about half an hour before closing--but the food was given to us at 10:50. Also, I had ordered a mildly spicy meal, but ended up with extremely spicy hot wings which were a complete waste of money and food because neither my husband or I can eat it. All over the corner of the booth. She proceeded to put the silverware back into the bin grabbed knives from another table and put them in the same bin. The server just walked in the door and appeared to have been called in. Food took a ridiculously long time. My steak was over cooked. My friends tilapia was over cooked. My other friends burger was not cooked the way she ordered it. The salad bar lettuce was not fresh. We had to ask for our drinks refilled. The restaurant was not busy at all but many other tables were having the same issues with terribly poor service. The restaurant was a mess and the bathroom was DISGUSTING! When we got there, only Zach (a manager) was taking tables. We walked in the restaurant around 7:15pm and did not leave until after 9pm! It should not have taken them 2 hours to serve us. I should have read the reviews before I ordered from this place. I'm staying at the hotel that's practically attached. They made me a steak it was awful you couldn't even cut into it. I asked for a refund and since it was the end of the night the manager couldn't figure out how to get into the register. So I just told her I'll take the food thinking there's no way they messed it up a second time. Well the steak is a little better but the mashed potatoes are now awful. How do you mess up mashed potatoes? When I arrived angry with my screwed-up order the manager was nowhere to be seen. How do you leave an angry customer out with the rest of your customers what kind of service is that? I haven't had an experience this bad in a long time, I will remember not to eat here again. We have recently moved to this area and this is our favorite restaurant of all others we've tried. Great steaks and seafood, appetizers, and the best cheesecake we have ever tasted. Our server, Elizabeth, is just wonderful and remembers what drinks we like. Steaks are the best and have always been prepared exactly as ordered. There are low fat items included on the menu and a plentiful salad bar that is always found to be clean and neat, and adequately filled at all times.The manager visits the tables and is very conscientious regarding customer satisfaction. The facility and restrooms are always found to be impeccably clean. We are becoming fixtures here and love it a lot! read more

From the time we walked in there was a "30 Minute wait" that was actually waaaaayyyy longer than 30. There were visibly open seat literally everywhere, but the kitchen was backed up so they wouldn't seat us. An hour later and the food wasn't really worth the wait. The worst Ruby Tuesday we have ever been to. First let me start off by saying we were from out of town and hungry so we stopped in. Took 10mins to get seated in a half empty restaurant. The waitresses looked sloppy, untucked shirts looking like they just rolled out of bed. The front house manager had on a pink t shirt and looked like it hadn't been ironed or tucked in ever. Past there appearances, I ordered the blackened tilapia and my husband the steak and my daughter the Mac n cheese. My fish was Luke warm barely looked cooked and my daughters mac n cheese had been stuck in the microwave one to many times. Yuck. The floors were dirty and no one was sweeping or picking anything up, in fact there was a hot pepper laying on the floor the whole time we were there. The lady behind us had to send her food back 3xs before they even got it right. People were waiting 40mins plus for food and 20mins for drinks in a empty restaurant. The only person there doing his job was waiter named Jackson. I would fire everyone else! The manager came around and looked just as sloppy and uncaring as the rest of the staff in there. I went to the College Drive location in Suffolk, VA! We have been to this location many times because my husband loves the salad bar. We ordered to go this time 2 of the TEX MEX Steak Fajitas they have been advertising. When I got home with my order 1) the picture advertised and what I received didn't even come close to the same! 2) the black beans and rice were left out of both entrees completely! I normally check my order before I leave but the bag was tied so tight I didn't this time. I made numerous attempts to call the restaurant and the phone was never answered! I understand staffing is a problem in most restaurants currently so I made a 2nd trip back to the restaurant to pick up the omitted part of my order! The amount of the 2 sides I received was not worth the $4.59 per gal. of gas it cost to make that 2nd trip! My biggest regret was not taking a pic. of MY order to show a comparison to what was advertised for $12.99. Taco Bell would have been a better choice and much cheaper! read more
