So I've seen these places here in there, and it wasn't until today that I actually realized it was a restaurant, and not an oil change place!! Hahaha!!! I made my way to the bar and sat down. They had a live band playing, so that was completely awesome! And they were actually really good! I liked all of the decorum.. obviously tailored towards a shop/garage theme. Really cool stuff! I sat at the bar, and got greeted promptly and was told my bartender would be with me. Here she came. So I got a menu and scoured over it because I've never been to one of these, and I ordered my signature cocktail, Tito's with soda and extra lime, and they were actually WEDGES, NOT SLICES! WAY TO GO!. My bartender was okay. It would have been nice if she checked on me more often and cleared my empty glasses out from in front of me, but she did the trick. I was skeptical about the food at first. I ordered a small thing of hot wings. I can't remember exactly what they call them like a sidecar or something? But anyways my wings seemed like they sat out on the service counter from the kitchen because they weren't too hot when I got them. In the buffalo sauce wasn't as hot as I thought it would be. It wasn't hot at all actually. I seriously thought this was going to be a precursor for the meal I just ordered. BUT IT WASN'T! I ordered the pork "prime rib" with a Cajun Louisiana "lube" (sauce) and green beans and broccoli as my side. Man, I can cook up some pretty good stuff, but that pork steak was AMAZING. All my food came out fresh from the kitchen, piping hot, the sauce was on point, and that piece of pork was so damn tender. Man it was good. Great place to stop and fuel up your belly! Folks were not kidding about the wings. They were great. Meaty and not dry at all. I loved their BBQ sauce. Slightly sweet and not too vinegary. We also had the burger which was big, juicy and downright delicious! I highly recommend upping your side to the baked potato. It was loaded and a perfect non-fried accompaniment to a burger. Novelty restaurant with attached gift shop, this place is located in the mountains. I had to do a double take when I saw the name. Steak and lube? I'm dying of laughter over here. It looks over half packed but there's no one in sight to sit anyone. I literally waited about fifteen minutes and almost left when the host came to get a table ready for my party. Well, he had to clean the booth first but then ended up sitting us on the other side of the restaurant apparently because of wait staff. Once we got our waitress, she was good. Keto dinner consisted of Hangover burgers without the bun and salad with jalapeño ranch. I'm starving, no, ravenous at this point. They had a live band, but unfortunately I couldn't understand what they were singing as the voices were drowning in the music and unfriendly acoustics. We ordered cheese curds which were overly battered. Way too thick and we had a few with raw runny batter still in the middle. Don't recommend. Hubby ordered wings extra crispy and they came out perfect! He said it was the best hot wing (traditional Buffalo hot) he's ever had. The smoked honey jalapeño flavored was tasty but over sauced with sticky honey buy still tasty (maybe request light sauce?) He also loved the garlic Parmesan. I ordered loaded nachos. I think they would be better meatless (I think their attempt at shredded chicken was actually the crumbs from pan fried chicken maybe had batter?) queso blanco was good, they added cold shredded cheese on top of the queso blanco, in abundance (would be better without that extra cheese, especially since it wasn't melted or warm), pico was decent and could have asked for extra, many chips stuck together and overall cheese coverage not the best. I sat at the very nice 14 seat bar where Delisa served me in a very accommodating manner including offering tastes of two draught beers, and descriptions of the intended experience of yhe hrewer. Dalisa's Mom, Lisa, is the "detail person" (translate to " clean-freak") making sure that your experience is a fulfilling one. I had the Grilled Chicken Boneless Wrap with HOME MADE POTATO CHIPS!!! Excellemt. The chips were accompanied by a "beer-cheese" dip that was as delicious as it was unique. They offer 21 flavors of chicken wings (bone-IN wings) .There are about 32 draught beers comprising of a well chosen mix of types of brews. They have live entertainment every Sunday afternoon, Karaoke on Thursday nights, and trivia on Wednesday nights. There's something for everyone! The area has many wonderful waterfalls, and historic McCormack Farm, where the "combine harvester" was invented and developed. The place is very clean and bright, and is kid friendly. And importantly, the restrooms . were well maintained and fresh. UPDATE ALREADY: I came back an hour and a half later for dessert and coffee (because there isn't much else around here), had an excellent hot fudge brownie a la mode and some of the hest coffee I've had in months! read more

I was excited about eating here as I thought they had all closed. It took about an hour to get some wings and an order of onion rings even though they were not busy. When we started eating, they turned on the big lights, turned off the music and put the chairs up on the tables by 10:15 pm. I asked if they were closed and the waitress told me they close at 10:45 although their signage says 11. Seems like they closed at 10 because they were in a hurry to get us out. I stopped eating and we left after watching them sling trash in the dining room and sweep up all the crap from under their furniture into a pile by our table. This was my first Quaker Steak & Lube experience. I really wasn't familiar with the chain, and in the past I thought it was a fast food concept. Nope. It's a sit down, sports bar restaurant. A few things were "off" for me. When we first walked in, several employees had their masks pulled down and in the hostess area where we were expected to step to. They did have the seating arrangement staggered, and only every other booth occupied, but then the tables parallel between the booths and the bar were occupied. So there was a table/patron directly beside of us. Why not stagger those too?! It was just a strange observation. You know what else was strange? The wing flavors. We tried four different ones, starting with the "dusted ghost pepper", which was third most hot. I'm not sure if they didn't have enough dusting, or what. It wasn't hot at all! I'm a spice wimp and I downed three with no problem. The Cajun flavor was probably the worst wings that I've ever had in my life... oregano!? Since when did oregano become a cajun flavor?! I mean, they had the strongest flavor or oregano of anything I've had in my life! Maybe they should change the name of that option to Italian. Italian chicken wings... now you know why I said the flavors are strange. I ordered the QSL boneless wing salad. Outlined with "toasted" pita triangles, the portion of mixed greens in the center was very small, especially for a full sized salad. Topped with cheese, and the boneless wings on the side... super simple. The pita bread was soft and not toasted whatsoever. The salad was definitely disappointing too. Taxes... a regular tax, a food tax sec, beer sec, and a liquor tax sec. While I know it's not their fault, it solidifies the deal that I wouldn't try again on my way back through Raphine, VA. read more

A difficult review in that I've been to several QS&L locations from the original to others and this by far has been the most lackluster boneless presentation, and they are known for their wings. My daughters bone in wings were good so I thought I'd change up and do boneless. Wish I didn't as they were pretty much sauceless with several that were overcooked and crunchy, but they did bring me extra sauce. Chicken Caesar salad was very sparse on greens but the specialty chicken salad with fruit was nicely presented. Cross this off as a do not stop on the way back and forth unless you get bone in wings. Oh, carrots are the huge baby carrots with prepackaged sauce, I know it's labor saving to go with baby carrots but they are horrible to dip into 1/2 filled prepackaged cups of sauce. Cut the carrots, it's just that simple. Oh well, it is what is. Maybe others will have a better experience. Men's bathroom was clean but ladies room needed work. BOH (back of house) needs some work...seriously...! It's a great concept that needs to be detailed with enhanced quality control in the kitchen. With each visit we found the staff to be consistently warm and welcoming greeting each customer as a friend. The food is excellent always served efficiently by the staff. The food is not only delicious but.attractively arranged on the plate. It not only tastes great but looks great as well! I highly recommend you stop by Quaker Steak and Lube to try it yourself. A few weeks ago we stopped in to Quaker Steak and Lube for a meal. We were lucky to have Katie taking our order. While all our encounters with the staff there have been excellent Katie stood out. Her personality was engaging and she made us feel right at home! Our time with Katie was fun, she has a very upbeat and engaging personality. Love the Quaker Steak and Lube chain. Hit one every chance I get if time permits. Time didn't really permit this time but I couldn't resist some Dusted Ghost Wings. After a short weight while waiting for what seemed to be a host helping/assisting a waitress. The young man asked who was next. I pointed at the gentleman in front of me not knowing he had already been helped. So I walk up, am asked "1?" I respond, "no I just wanted to put a to-go order in, I'd like..." but what cut off as a menu was all but thrown down towards me so he could help a couple that came in behind me. Like I said, or tried to say I knew what I wanted because I was short on time. Kids these days I guess. One star is only because of this one persons actions. If he doesn't appreciate his job. Stopped in this place when they first opened and got to see people at their best and worst to say the least. We were seated immediately by a friendly person and our waiter came right over, took our drink order and gave us time to look at the menu. There is a LOT to look at in this restaurant so while looking around, I got to see some guy just walk right into the restaurant, breeze past the host stand and seat himself- in a booth that was supposed to be closed off! He sat there for maybe five minutes when he grabbed a server, who had no idea he was even sitting there (he wanted to be in front of a tv as it was an NFL Sunday). This fool proceeded to chew out the server, a young lady, and demand to see a manager because he had to wait for a menu- Dude, you sat yourself! Anyway, this guy is giving the server a hard time about everything- she is in tears in the back and the male manager she asked to go talk to him is trying to hide- I asked for his name and it is Matt. He was terrible as he let that poor server take the brunt of this idiot's hostility. Well, he finally goes over and now the guy wants the number for the owner of the restaurant- whatever. This man was a total tool, sat himself and demanded that everyone drop everything to serve him. You could feel the tension in the whole restaurant. Meanwhile, we order our food- started with wings, which were great, wife had a chicken salad, also great, and I had a burger which was excellent. Our waiter was terrific and kept focused even though his co-worker was in tears and he kept having to console her. Finally, Matt goes and hides again while the Tool is now complaining about his food (huge surprise there- he just wanted free food and everyone knew it). Another manager goes over, a lady with short black hair, and talks to him very professionally and she kept her cool the whole time, even though the guy was a total jerk, and she ended up appeasing him somehow, I guess he either got a discount or gift card or something, but I loved how she gently reminded him that he seated himself when the sign clearly stated "Please Wait to be Seated"- he knew what he was doing the whole time. How she kept her cool and didn't punch him is beyond me, I would have for sure. I almost went over to him to tell him what a jackass he is, but didn't want to start a fight in the restaurant. Fast forward a couple of months and I was happy to see the restaurant was doing better, the staff seemed to be working well together and I was really happy to see our original waiter was still there. I asked if Matt the manager was working and he said Matt had left- that is a GOOD thing, he even indicated they all felt the same way. The manager who dealt with the Tool correctly was there and I kept my eye on her- the lady never stopped moving, always cleaning, talking to staff members and customers, correcting issues, etc. Our waiter said she is awesome and from what I could see, I agree. She came over and asked how our food was and we were happy to tell her that everything went well and the food was great. I never really thought to try the steak at the restaurant, but mine was great- and perfectly cooked. We were so happy we bought a couple of cool t-shirts. We'll be back for sure! read more

After reading the reviews we were slightly hesitant but the overall experience was just fine. We had a to-go order that consisted of 3 appetizers, 2 sides, 2 entrees and a drink. My 2 main issues are price and quality. I stopped in for a quick dinner with my wife because it was close. We're vegetarian and there aren't many options, but we usually like Beyond Burger, which is an option for all of their burgers. Here's the first issue: its a $3.50 or $3.95 upgrade. I've never seen such a big surcharge for Beyond Burgers. And the burgers are $14 to start with so you're up to $18 for a burger. Then we added 2 toppings at $1 each and now its a $20 burger. When we looked at the menu, it said burgers are 1/2 pound so I thought "OK, its a lot, but that's a really big burger". I specifically asked if the Beyond Burgers are also 1/2 lb and was told they are. There's no way the burger we got was 1/2 lb. It looked exactly like the ones we get from Costco which are no more than 1/4 lb (4oz). For $20 I expect either an amazing burger or one that's big enough to share. This was neither. I didn't have any issues with the service like some people, but we were there at 9pm on a Sunday and there weren't more than 10 other people in the place. read more

Was a new building so I figured I'd prob get really good food. My baby back ribs where absolutely BABY. I think it has been the smallest set of ribs I ever had and they where tough almost like beef jerky. I ate my chips and rice but left my ribs exactly like the picture.
