We went in today with my husband and son to have dinner. Ruby Tuesday is one of those well-known names but, at the same time, slightly forgotten. We were seated and were pleased that it was warm in the restaurant. Our server, Rebecca, greeted us. She was very sweet and offered suggestions from the menu. My son chose the T-bone steak, I ordered the New York strip, and my husband ordered the smokehouse burger. Thankfully, it didn't take too long for our drinks and food to arrive. My New York strip steak was pretty good, except I had ordered it medium, and it was closer to medium well. Honestly, that was what I found to be a slight bother. Rebecca was so sweet when I mentioned it and offered to get a new one, but the taste wasn't bad, so I kept it. My son's steak was also unevenly cooked; in some parts, it was medium, and in others, it was rarer. He had wanted medium-rare, but a T-bone steak can be a difficult meat to cook on certain grills, etc., if the heat source is uneven. On the other hand, my husband gobbled up his burger and fries, lol. So that was a plus.. We ordered dessert as well. I shared a chocolate cake with my husband, and our son ordered carrot cake. The cake was good, but we had already expected it to be truly decadent, which it was. My son enjoyed his carrot cake very much. She had 4 tenders that were 3 to 4 inches long and taste like were gotten out of a supermarket freezer and had maybe a small handful of fries and that plate cost us $14.59 plus $3.99 for tea so I wasn't please with the quality or quantity of that product. read more

Shelby, NC has the nastiest excuse for a restaurant I've ever seen. The food looked like it crawled out of the trash to be served, and I wouldn't let my dogs get within five feet of it. And corporate? Even worse. They swore they'd call me and give me a refund, but that was clearly just another lie to get me off the phone. No call. No refund. No professionalism anywhere in the chain. We ate lunch here today for the first time. I wanted the salad bar and an order of cheesy garlic bread. The salad bar disappointed me. It desperately needed to be restocked. Most of the items were gone. The bread didn't come until I was pretty much finished. It was good though. My husband ordered me 6 oz. and baked potato. My wife and I just got back into town l. We were beat! We decided to just order some food in, instead of cooking. We never eat at Ruby Tuesday. We went in there to eat a couple of years ago, and we're underwhelmed by the food and service, so we hadn't been back. But we wanted something different, so decided to try it. I was excited because they had Burnt Ends on the menu. Lee ordered some kind of grilled chicken. Once it arrived, she said hers was adequate, but not great. Mine was absolutely ridiculous. The "burnt ends" were nothing but pre-cooked diced ham, that still had skin on it. Not only was it not burnt ends, it wasn't even cooked that well. I'm sure they just microwaved it, threw a little splatter of BBQ sauce on it, and sent it on. It was so nasty, that I couldn't even eat it. I called the store and talked to the manager. I was polite to her, because it's not her fault. But she said that's what corporate Ruby Tuesday calls burnt ends. Lee and I learned the lesson, that we should have learned the last time. No more Ruby Tuesday for us. I'm being generous with the two star rating, since the manager was nice. Have stopped hee a few times now since living in North Carolina. Use to go to the Ruby Tuesdays in Merritt Island ,Fl. Always enjoyed eating there and getting the salad bar just for a light lunch or dinner. Or Add on with a hamburger or any meal. They have a good size salad bar for salads & toppings at this location. As with most places prices have gone up. I posted the online menu because my phone was dead the last time we ate here so no pictures. There is no prices posted on line. They have a good variety of menu items to pick from. Italian, Steaks, Ribs & more. The hamburgers are a good size and not too bad, but even for a cheese burger with mushrooms was over $10, and to me the buns are just too much bread. We did take my parents here but they were not a fan of how expensive it is now compared to when they ate in Florida. For 4 of us our bill was almost $70. Not really worth that to me when you can go to the GC buffet and there is much more to pick from. I don't think we will be going back anytime too soon. read more

Our first time dining at this location. Some good part some not so good. I ordered the tri which was a ribeye, half rack ribs and fried shrimp. The "ribeye" was very small and thin. NO flavor at all. I assume they drain all the blood out of the meat because it had zero color. I ordered it raw but couldn't tell if it was. The ribs were good as were the shrimp. The baked potato was way over cooked and I couldn't eat it all. I also had the funnel cake Sunday. The ice cream was good but the funnel cake was burnt. Hard as a rock. I told the waitress it was not edible but she didn't remove it from my ticket. Kinda mad about that. Overall I wouldn't go back there for food. The peach rita and berry rita were really good but the food was a disappointment. Edit: Ruby Tuesday contacted me here and asked me to email them about my experience. I did. Deliciousness! Salmon prepared well, broccoli and zucchini not mushy, or saturated with oils. The server was professional and recommended seafood and fish dishes since it's Friday. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with French fries. The Bun was soggy and the chicken was trying to fall out of it. The French fries were ok, nothing great. We eat here every other month, usually taking advantage of their frequent specials. Probably one of the better restaurants in Shelby area. On our latest visit we enjoyed the bourbon chicken entree with two sides and found everything cooked to the correct temperature, flavorful and portions excellent for the price. Our server, a young lady, was outstanding. The restaurant was clean and everyone friendly that we spoke with. Coke products are served, a full bar is available with TV screens, and a salad bar is popular, though we did not try it this visit. Desserts are available. Parking is easy, the rest rooms were clean and in good condition, and seating comfortable. It is adjacent to the Cleveland Mall and theaters, so very convenient for a meal after shopping or a movie. I travel for work, and the worst thing you can do as a restaurant to a person who travels for work is to give them takeout food without utensils. It's such an easy way to make or break the feeling you get about the establishment. Such a simple thing. No one wants to go back to there hotel and up into their room to realize there are no utensils. Then we have to get redressed to go to the lobby to get some. Ordered a Ribeye steak and potato and also got the Salad Bar. The salad bar was great, everything was fresh and tasted awesome. The ribeye steak was a little overcooked and was somewhat dry(ordered medium and was closer to well). The service was awesome and our drinks were never empty. The waitress was very friendly. My wife ordered the honey bourbon chicken and the chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy. She didn't care for the sauce but I thought it was pretty good. The cost of the food was on the upper end for what you get especially the steak. I will be back but will most likely skip the steak. this was the worst experience ever. you have to wait for 15 minutes before someone even comes to seat you, then you are told there will be a 45 minute wait to be seated. I understand if they're understaffed or very busy, but there are servers outside smoking or just standing around chatting. the entire time I spent waiting I could hear the manager Dawn loudly and rudely berating her employee, slamming plates and drinks down, and just bein an overall unpleasant person to be around. none of the employees look happy to be working for her. the bartender Alexis was also extremely unprofessional as she chose to have a loud argument with what I assume to be her significant other, which was clearly making customers uncomfortable. these are not people that need to be in customer service or especially handling food. it is extremely unsanitary as well. read more

My "full" rack of tasteless dry ribs was composed of 8 short bones. The waitress said it should be 12... with no apology or attempted ammends. We always get a great meal at Shelby's Ruby Tuesday. We love their coupons and free birthday burgers, so we go around those times. The burgers are always delicious and filling. My wife loves the appetizer samplers as a meal. And I enjoy the garden salad bar. Good place for couples, family and friends dining. read more

This location's food has gone down hill. We stopped here on the way back to Asheville from Charlotte. The waitress Cat was awesome. She was the only bright spot in the visit. What was not good was the food. #1 - the bang bang shrimp was not bang bang shrimp. It was more like breaded shrimp with some hot sauce on the side. #2 - the food took forever to come out. #3 - when the food did come out on of the entrees was missing the shrimp that came with it and the steaks were mixed up. One steak was medium and the other medium rare but they were on the wrong plates. #4 - the baked potato was extremely hard on the outside which means it was microwaved to death (I didn't know microwaves were supposed to be used in restaurants, I do watch Kitchen Nightmares). #5 - finally, the bathrooms were pretty gross. Side salads were delivered in such small bowls you couldn't even cut the salad and I think the container the salad dressing was served in was so small it may have been a tablespoon or possibly two. My husbands meal was served with a half baked potato and the ribs were dry it was supposed to have had a whiskey sauce? My potato was cold and my shrimp was luke warm; at best. I spoke with the manager who gave me the impression she could care less.. She was very nonshalant. If this is how the management is - no wonder the help isn't much better.
