1 star. Absolutely horrible customer service experience. I was the ONLY person in line and made it all the way through the salad stations. All that was left was lids for my dressing, bread, paying, and leaving. Another customer walked in BEHIND me and instead of finishing my order, the employee completely stopped helping me and took the new customer through the ENTIRE line while I stood there waiting. I then had to wait 5-8 minutes while the second customer slowly decided on ingredients and changed her mind multiple times. The person behind me got almost full uninterrupted service while I -- the first customer in line -- was left standing there waiting. What made it even worse was the manager's response. He defended the employee, told me she "did nothing wrong," and completely dismissed my frustration with a "have a nice evening." The issue wasn't just the wait. It was being skipped over and then treated like my frustration didn't matter. I've been there around 5 times in the last month, but after this experience, I will never return. read more

This chain is new to me, but apparently is well established in Houston. They've got a well-run operation going, with a manager gently pushing the staff but not afraid to make a salad herself on duty when I was there. The strategy here is based around ingredient quality and variety. You get unlimited toppings, but with only a small portion of each one, the incentive is to pursue variety. I enjoyed doing so, and added some falafel for protein which they helpfully offered to crush into little bits for me. In addition to numerous fruits and vegetables, the multigrain croissant at the end bears mentioning, a flaky, hearty creation that works well for mopping up salad dressing but which I wish I could find without the salad. The choice of ingredients also allows the eater to pick up a decent amount of protein and unsaturated fats as there are several nuts, beans, and other useful options. And the dressings are delicious. I haven't figured out the rewards system yet, but I wasn't sad that I stopped here for dinner. read more

I LOVE a good salad and Salata has the best! I stumbled on this restaurant in Florida and was over the moon when one opened in the Charlotte area (now three are open). There are so many options and fresh veggies with just as many protein options. The only downfall is one night my wife and I were walking towards the front door about 10 minutes before closing. Every time i go it usually only take about five minutes to get my salad and go. However, the body language of the ENTIRE staff when they saw me and my wife walking towards the door was very discouraging. There was no customers in the restaurant so I "assume" they were starting to clean and hoping to get out. The looks were so bad and the stare was so intense my wife and I turned around and went elsewhere. The above was the only bad/ neutral experience I've had after many times of visiting. I spotted this place a while back. It's located in front of Duck Donuts. I was intrigued by all the salad toppings available on social media advertisement. I was glad to know they carried nuts. I love walnuts and cranberries in my salad especially. I made my first order online. It was easy and order was readily available at pickup. I was greeted upon entry and it was very clean inside. The salad included everything requested and evenly distributed. The pita chips were a lot bigger than expected and so good. If you like crunch, get it. Buttery garlic pita chips would be awesome. The watermelon chunks were sweet. Next time I may dabble in Hawaiian salmon type salad, pesto chicken, and I saw an option for pickles. The possibilities are endless! Good variety of salad stuff and toppings with proteins! It reminds me of Chopt and I have a preference for their dressings. However the small salad I ordered was very good with romaine lettuce and grilled salmon and then I added veggies and ginger lime dressing. I think the portion is similar to Chopt. I tried to download the app but it didn't work to earn points. They could make it easier. Service was good on a weekend and they have a clean restaurant. Drove by and saw the "Now Open" sign! Turns out they were doing their soft opening. It was beautiful on the inside! Go check it out yourself :) everything was extremely clean and I loved the modern minimalistic aesthetic. I ordered a regular salad with a spinach base and added chicken pesto as my protein. The chicken is great, it is not dry at all, I definitely want to try it in a wrap next time (oh yeah, they have create your own wraps too). They don't have a maximum on toppings, you can get as many as your heart desire, without an up charge! The only usual up charge is the avocado, but I feel like now as a population we are used to that! Lol They also have plenty of fruit options, I got mango!! All of their dressings are made in-house and fresh, none of that bottled crap! I want to try the pomegranate dressing next time, I was too nervous and stuck with ranch. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the servings are huge and they have so many different options to choose from for each category - greens, proteins, toppings and dressings. Drove a good bit to come experience Salata and this location is beautiful! No one was here so I took up all the time I needed to sample and pick exactly what I wanted. I hate I didn't see the seafood protein before I chose chicken but I definitely know now. The lady making my salad was super patient too! The soup was my favorite, it had the right about of basil in it and it definitely hit the spot! Now the salad was amazing, the jalapeños avocado dressing was amazing, I was licking it out of the cup she let me try it in.. by itself. I wish I had gotten two cups instead of one. It took a good bit of time for the takeout order considering there was nobody inside but I wasn't in a rush. I tried Salata for the first time today and it was fantastic. The young lady who helped me chatted, explained everything and gave great recommendations. You can get a ton of opinions including pesto chicken, steak, shrimp, salmon, any veggies or fruit, crunchies, etc. I ordered a regular and it was huge. Salad, protien, avacado (extra) and tons of toppings was $18. It was immaculately clean and the food was crispy ice cold. I used to go to Chopt but this place is SOooooo much better.
