I haven't eaten inside, but we ordered our for 10mins before close and I'm very happy about it. Flounder was fried properly. Shrimp was more than I expected for $15.99. Still ate it the next day. Drove by many times and wondered what they had to offer. You order when you walk in. They will bring the food to the table. We didn't know what to order and asked the girl working what was popular. She gave us some recommendations. I was in the mood for some soup. I ordered the tomato, it sounded good on the board with the description. It was horrible! I could not eat it and I told the girl cleaning the dining room. She was apologetic and went and got me a refund. We ordered the fish and Gyro plates. The fish was not bad at all but expensive for a fast food place. Gyro was ok nothing special. I wasn't crazy for the sauce and usually it's really good at greek restaurants. The pasta salad was not too bad. The food was not too authentic . Id give 5 stars to the workers they were all very nice. The food? We would not go back, not a fan at all, the taste of the food is not what we are use to for greek food. The fish was a bit high, priced like a expensive restaurant. read more

A couple of months ago I stopped by Showmars for a take out salad to eat with pasta I prepared later. This was my first time visiting here and it was a great experience. The employee that took my order was really nice and attentive. I ordered their Greek Salad and while waiting scanned their menu. 'Mmm', I thought while looking at their seafood on the menu. The worker told me their seafood was a very popular menu item. I told her I would return one day and order it. At home I was instantly blown away by how great the salad tasted! It was also big enough to half in two and eat another time. I loved the pita bread that came with it and how fresh the lettuce and other ingredients were. I normally get my food "to go" here. I usually call it in and it's always hot when I pick it up. I live about ten minutes away and I've never had to wait for my order to be completed. The portions are generous and I've never really been disappointed with the taste of anything that I've ordered. The staff is friendly and the restaurant and outside grounds are always neat and clean. Showmars is a casual family restaurant (sitdown dining or takeout) which serves up American fare plus a few Greek items at reasonable prices. It's order at the counter and pay first, then you're given a number stand and drinks, then take a seat in the dining room and staff will bring out your food. On the drive out to Forest City, I decided to stop for dinner at Showmars in Shelby after seeing a billboard. The left turn onto the frontage road coming off US 74 WB from the east is a bit tricky. I did notice a banner in front of the restaurant advertising $6.99 Dinner Specials (5PM-9PM) which includes a drink. I decided on one of the specials, Chicken Tips over Rice with two sides (I chose slaw & steamed vegetables), dinner roll, and a Diet Pepsi, $7.46 total with tax. The food came out in under 10 minutes. The Chicken Tips (marinated) with green peppers & onions was very good, which was very tender & juicy. The white rice had a soft fluffy texture. The slaw was sweet and very soft. However, the vegetables (carrots, broccoli, caulifower) were not hot and ice cold inside, similar to the frozen vegetable mix found in my local Market Basket. I ended up mixing the vegetables with the slaw creating broccoli slaw. The soft dinner roll was warm. I finished up dinner and the Diet Pepsi (more than half crushed ice). I would've given this place 2.4 stars. However, as the server was clearing the dishes off the table, he offered me a togo cup with Diet Pepsi, which I definitely needed for the road (I'll round up to 3 stars). read more

Husband and son had shrimp plates. They said the shrimp was average and not crispy enough. I had veggies over rice pilaf with a side of sautéed squash. It was horrible. Swimming in grease and they had scraped black crispy buildup off the grill and included it with my meal. We won't go here any more. read more

While driving across North Carolina, I was intrigued by the banner in front of the restaurant offering a low cost meal, plus an advertisement offering fast, casual fare, so I stopped at Showmars. Showmars serves mostly American and Greek menu items, and even will offer an American-Greek fusion for some of their menu items, such as the pita burger. Service was prompt, and after ordering, I was quickly served my pita burger. The pita burger is a standard hamburger, but served on a pita, which I felt was a bit unique, but still part of a welcome lunch. read more

I had not been to a Showmars in a really long time since they didn't offer many vegetarian options. That is, until the started offering Beyond Burger last year. I have visited this restaurant about a dozen times since and I am impressed with the place. The amount of negative reviews here might make you think the place is not good, but that's not the case (at least in my experiences). The place stays busy, so I guess there's just not enough people who take the time to write good reviews. Showmars is always clean and the food is quite delicious. It's now my first choice for lunch when passing through Shelby. read more

Had never gone in - passed by many times - outside kinda generic - went in - staff was very friendly - prices just so so - had the souvlaki platter - pretty tasty - served over rice and with fries - waitresses were nice and pretty attentive - a solid place to eat - the whole restaurant does smell like fried fish and some of my fries tasted a bit fishy like they were fried with some fish. read more
