First time here with my friend for late breakfast. Was greeted and seated right away upon walking in. Jennifer was our waitress. She was very sweet and attentive. We ordered vanilla latte's and the loaded bowl with bacon and scrambled eggs. I feel they pre cook the potatoes, onions and bacon as they were very well done and food came out super quick. We were visiting Oak Island for my daughter's wedding. Today we headed out and needed a good breakfast before hitting the highway, this place had pretty good reviews and ratings plus the food pics looked tasty so we decided to give it a try. Got a seat and we started to order. I ordered a strawberry and cream pancake. My friend got a red white a blue waffle. It took forever and the table next to us who came at least 10 minutes later and got their food before us, full of lots of eggs, hefty sausages and a perfectly neat stack of two pancakes. Finally after 35ish minutes we got our food. The waffles were alright, a bit cold but edible. However the pancakes were terrible. They claimed that they had a new cook in the kitchen. The pancakes were completely burnt, and extremely flat and humungous. They were very unpleasant and should not have been served in that state. It was loud I just wanted to leave. I didn't touch the pancake and paid. Definitely not coming back. read more

I was with some friends and we spent the weekend on oak Island to do some fishing. It was Saturday morning and we were looking for a place to eat before we started our day. Most places are absolutely packed with a gazillion people standing out in the parking lot waiting for their turn to be called. One of the guys knew about this place so we drove over and we're immediately seated. Yahoo! Everyone on the staff was amazing. Nothing but smiles politeness and even quick wit from the waitress who was snappy with comebacks to my dumb dad jokes. #kudos There was lots of room between the tables which is one of the things that's important to me. The food was fresh and delivered rather quickly. Not within 60 seconds like in a Mexican restaurant but plenty fast to put a smile on your face. The coffee was good and our cups were never empty. It's a routine for us to come fishing here so from now on we all agreed that we would come to this place and eat. Highly recommended. read more

We went back to try Eggs Up for breakfast yesterday. My first kudos go to their wonderful dark roast coffee. When they first opened about 2 years ago we tried it and my biggest takeaway was how awful their coffee was so this is such a welcome change. My husband had the eggs with homemade hash and he liked it very much. I ordered their new bowl with eggs, bacon and crab cakes. I had the hollandaise sauce on the side and tasted a bit of it. Very good but so fattening. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good their crab cakes were. Lots of crab meat with very little bread filler. All in all a very good offering in total. The service was true Southern and cheerful and the space is light and bright. We will definitely be back. read more

Server came back & we advised eggs not cooked while evident toast not toasted potatoes cold. Plates almost full. Server was not nice & left us with plates & back filling to go orders. Had to ask for check & then she said took 50% off. We paid & left plates full. No apologies or even thank you. Meals were 2 eggs, bacon or sausage & potatoes. Quick Big menu... I'd be really surprised if you didn't see what you wanted on the menu. But I guarantee you'll see something you will love to eat. Very attentive but not intrusive staff. I noticed that all the staff seem to work well together. Even though I was served everything I asked for a couple of different servers checked in to see that I was okay. Food: 4 stars...full array of options from egg omelets to benedicts to breakfast sandwiches and waffles all the way to burgers. We had the Greek omelette and Philly steak omelette. Both came out warm, Greek had the veggies throughout and the Philly had fixings tucked inside. Greek tasted better but that's just my preference. Potatoes were well cooked, greasy and delicious. Biscuit and muffin were bland and felt mass purchased. Coffee was hot and thankfully not burnt. Service: Jennifer, our server, was fantastic! Recently relocated to Southport and Just tried eggs up grill for the first time. The food was great, I had 1/2 waffle with eggs over easy and toast. The service was quick and the staff is very friendly. The food was perfect and delicious. There is indoor seating and good for both adults and family dining. They have a lunch menu too. None of that canned stuff, this is scratch made Corned beef hash that they put a perfect crunch sear on both sides.
