This food truck is amazing. I'm a frequent diner at the Royal India restaurant in Eugene and I decided to stop by this food truck on a rainy day in Albany. I got my usual butter chicken with a side of roti and another side of naan. The butter chicken is even better here than at the brick and mortar restaurant in Eugene, which I didn't think was even possible. It is so incredibly creamy and I've tried many times to replicate it with no luck. The chicken is so tender and just melts in your mouth. The roti was a bit tough, but I had never had it before so I didn't really know what to expect going in. The naan was fantastic as always, and it held together well when I used it to scoop up the butter chicken and rice. The food truck is located in a little pod on a gravel parking lot. There are some parking spots but not a lot. I went on a cold and wet day so nobody else was there. The wait was long anyway, but I think that's pretty typical for food that is so fresh and hot. This has been our favorite Indian food in the area for a couple years now, and it's still good, but the quality seems to be slipping. Our butter chicken from 2 days ago was so overcooked, the chicken was tough and hard like little rocks. Couldn't even chew through a couple of the bites. And they messed up an order that we ordered a few weeks ago. Just totally got it wrong. Overall, not a good experience at all. I ordered from a man who seemed irritated by my presence. I ordered the Tandoori Salmon, he told me they didn't have it, as if it wasn't on the menu (it's in the bottom right of the menu). I then ordered the chicken curry. He informed me they had chicken biryani or butter chicken. I ordered the butter chicken which, ironically, is not on the menu. 20 minutes later, he hands me my food. The sauce wasn't my favorite, although there wasn't necessarily anything wrong with it, just not for me. It was creamy, slightly sweeter than I would prefer, and a little bland, but maybe that was because I ordered it mild. I don't know how to properly describe the chicken. The best description I have is that it was halfway between normal chicken and jerky. Maybe they were having an off day, but I won't be back. read more

This Indian food was really good and tasted quite authentic. The men who are usually working there are also quite quick and kind.

We had a late lunch here after on our way to Seattle from Eugene after visiting University of Oregon. This is one of the food trucks parked in a a big space with multiple food trucks. Tried the butter chicken plate and lassi, which was really good The owners were really friendly and gave suggestions, but the service was a bit slow. It took more than half an hour to get our order which was unexpected considering there were no other customers. read more

We stopped here for chai tea and got an order of samosas. The samosas dough was slight over cooked. The insides were tasty and spice. It was only serviced with a tamarind sauce NO MINT Chutney. I'd stop by again and try some curry. read more

I ordered chicken tikka masala whichi Allen for spicy. Usually restaurants fail to impress me which their spice scale but this truck does it well. I also ordered the lamb curry and was really happy with it. Their naan was a great addition and I easily had two meals from each entree. Don't know where to start, simple menu with chicken, lamb and goat to make up their non veggie menu, 7 items from there. An additional 7 additional items on their veggie menu. All choices come with PERFECTLY COOKED basmati rice. I had the Lamb curry, tomato based sauce, slightly sweet, a little spicy, totally delicious. The 2 gentlemen in the food truck were friendly, helpful and it was SOO worth the 15 minute wait for my meal. I will be coming back to try many more entrees from Royal India. Returned. Year later and everything was on point. Chicken curry, chicken kadai, butter chicken and paneer tikka masala were all freshly prepared and delicious and came with perfectly cooked rice. Adding naan to the order takes it up a notch. The addition of online ordering makes it super easy and worth driving 30 miles to pick up food. read more

The absolutely worst quality of Indian food, granted it came out of a "food truck" but the tiki masala base was water, zero flavors, and the chicken was so overcooked and chewy, I wouldn't feed it to my dog. Fantastic food with aromatics that fill the air enough to make your mouth water from a mile away. The woman who works the register is so kind and attentive to her customers, and she makes sure the area is nice and clean. You need to be there earlier in the day because every time I go there they're always out of naan and tandoori items. That's ok though, there's plenty of other options to choose from! I ordered the aloo paratha and yellow daal; and oh my goodness I was in food heaven! The paratha was hot and fresh, and absolutely melted in your mouth with its savory spices that absolutely opened your senses. Now the yellow daal I only order as mild as I wanted to enjoy the flavor more than the spice, and I was not let down because I was sent down a river of savory goodness with a very slight sweetness that naturally came from the lentils. The texture was creamy, but you were still able to taste every layer of that dish. It was phenomenal. There food is amazeballs and everyone should try it. The flavors are out of this world! I got the fish fry, kheer which is rice pudding. Blown away! It is IMPOSSIBLE to find good Indian food in Salem! This is close enough that we had to try it after seeing the billboard that it's by Love's. Checked out their website and we were in. Called ahead since we were taking it to go....back to Salem! Very friendly and patient on the phone. Ordered the Chicken Curry, the Butter Chicken and the Tiki Marsala with garlic naan bread. Everything was delicious! The chicken in all the dishes were moist and tasty. The sauces in each of them were wonderful. Couldn't pick a favorite. The naan bread - SO good!
