Great communication and service with fair prices and they get the work done fast! A++ would definitely recommend.

New disc brakes & wheel bearings

Last winter I bought a boat with a "free trailer" which came with a few unexpected trailer surprises. The trailer's surge brake master cylinder was empty and completely rust-filled. The disc brakes, also were rusted and the wheel bearings were shot. Realizing the needed repairs exceeded my skills, I searched for trailer experts. That's when I found Rucker Trailer Works on Yelp. Their great Yelp reviews gave me confidence to talk to them. I made an appointment to bring the trailer in for them to look it over and give me an estimate, which I accepted. A few days later I got a call that the trailer was done and ready to be picked-up. They completely replaced the entire surge brake system, wheel bearings (with Bearing Buddies), and they replaced several lights. After connecting the trailer to my truck, they noticed the trailer brake locked when backing-up. I was surprised because I had my favorite auto repair shop install 7-way trailer connector last year. The Rucker crew had seen this problem before and told me that the "Yellow Back-up wire" had not been connected when the 7-way was installed. They immediately crawled under my pickup and added the yellow wire. Turns out that the yellow wire is used to disable the trailer surge brakes when backing, and is not needed for electric brake trailers. At the time the 7-way connector was installed, my only trailer had electric brakes and I didn't think to ask that the yellow wire be connected. The bottom line is that my favorite auto repair shop is still my favorite, and Rucker Trailer has earned my highest possible review. I feel fortunate that I found Rucker and I intend to have them do all my future trailer work. I don't often come across businesses that can be called Outstanding, but Rucker Trailer Works is!

These two guys got right on the job. Done in 15 min.

If you have a trailer of any kind, this is the place to bring it for high quality work, very reasonable rates, and EXPERT consultation. I called, came in, and two workers jumped on my boat trailer, and completed the job in 15 minutes. Call them! This is the way business should be done. I saved them in my phone contacts and I will be back to use them again.

We had a true emergency with our RV while traveling from out of state. Our trailer stabilizers were…read morestuck and wouldn't detach from our truck, threatening to derail our entire vacation. I called and spoke with Ali, who immediately told us to bring it in. From that first conversation to the end of the service, the entire team was outstanding. They went well above and beyond locating a hard-to-find part hours away and doing whatever it took to get us back on the road quickly. Thanks to their expertise, quick thinking, and incredible dedication, we were able to continue our vacation without missing a beat. The level of customer service was exceptional, and the pricing for an emergency service especially considering how far they were willing to go was more than fair. You truly saved our trip. Thank you so much for everything you did. You've earned a loyal customer for life!

The quality and timeliness of the work were good, but the company's accountability and customer…read moreservice were disappointing. While my RV was being serviced, the battery disconnect switch was left in the "on" position, which caused the battery to die. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. One employee even apologized and acknowledged that the switch should have been turned off. However, the service advisor made no effort to correct the issue after it was confirmed that the battery would no longer hold a charge. Instead, she offered to sell me a replacement battery and still charge me labor for the installation. She also stated that I was lucky she was not charging me simply to test the battery, because according to her, the company charges for everything -- even basic battery testing. We spent a lot of money on our repairs so it is really disappointing that they could not offer any solutions for their mistake. In the end, it is not right that they made the mistake of leaving the switch on, and I was expected to pay the full cost of a battery and the "labor" to fix it. (For those that are wondering, the batteries health and performance were great when I brought it in). In the end, the experience left me with little confidence in the company's accountability or commitment to customer service.

I took in both complete spring packs off my 3/4 ton pickup truck to be re-arched or replaced. They…read moresaid they were too worn to be re-arched and should instead be replaced. I agreed and also asked them to go ahead and just replace everything, shackles, bolts, u-bolts and overloads. Paid upfront with my credit card and a week later, my parts were ready for pickup. Picked them up and went to install them. That's when i noticed an issue. There was a set of spring alignment pins for a Freightliner but there were no overload springs. It's easy enough to return the pins but without those overload springs, it is not possible to tighten the u-bolts as i am unable to use the existing top plate or cast iron spacer because of the overload spring alignment nubs that are cast into the part. So, at that point the installation could go no further. I called Spectrac to try to figure out what happened and what needed to happen next. This is where things get weird. I "assumed" that the semi truck pins were supposed to be the overload springs and someone had an oops moment. It happens to us all from time to time so no big deal. Then i'm told that the only mistake was giving me the pins and if i wanted the overload springs i had paid for already, i would be blessed with the opportunity to pay for them again. After having already spent $900 on rear leaf springs, overloads, shackles, bolts, and u-bolts, i was repeatedly, but politely, told that these are not "usually" included with rear springs and that if i wanted to finish this installation, buying new overload springs from them was my only option. That is not an option. So, here i sit with an undrivable truck, a $900 hole in my wallet, and a company that could care less. All because of two overload springs i already bought and have not received.
