This place is owned and operated by a very kind and loving family. I am always greeted by a warm friendly welcome. This kind of customer relation is not replicated anywhere else. As for the jewelry it is amazing. The jeweler is definitely a talented craftsman and takes pride in his work. He repaired an antique diamond ring setting and that diamond ain't going anywhere. First let me give you the backstory. My 18 year old enlisted Army son chose this place to have his gold necklace repaired on Christmas Eve. They were very friendly and repaired it quickly. The story continues from there. An hour or so later the necklace broke again. My son took it back and they repaired that break and another one for no charge. Excellent, right? During the time he waited for the repair to be completed, my son was looking at watches. The lady behind the counter convinced him to purchase a $400+ watch. It was very nice, but truly an impulse purchase. He decided that he would return it. I rode with him to do the return. The owner told him he could not return the watch because they had removed a couple of links to make it fit properly. That's when I went into the store. The owner told me the same thing. No returns if there's been work done on a piece. I asked him if he had informed my son. He said it was printed on the receipt. The receipt that he gave my son after the transaction had occurred. I asked him if he had verbally told my son about this policy. His response: "am I supposed to tell every customer that we will not accept returns if we do any work on something?" My response was "Yes, how is the customer supposed to know your policy if you don't verbalize it?" There was nothing done to the watch. It hadn't even been taken out of the box. The owner acted like it was now trashed and could not be sold. He tried to make my son feel guilty about doing the return. He said he couldn't sell it now because it was a used watch and he didn't sell anything used. He told me I knew nothing about his business. There, he's right, but I have worked in retail, and I know that the watch was not damaged, and could still be sold as new. I know if we were going to be charged $400+ for a watch that the wholesale price was close to half of that price. In the end he agreed to refund all but $75 dollars of the original sales price. It was a painful experience that didn't have to be. Instead of writing a review on bad business practices, I'd be writing about the superior customer service we received. Sadly, what we got was a lot of arguing, and guilt trips from someone who should have been trying to earn future business. I'm sure not everyone will have the same experience that we did, but be warned that if anything, even something as simple as removing a link from a watch, is done, you will have to fight to get this company to return your money. read more

I'm a big supporter of family business and always try and use independents since I grew up working for my dad in our grocery store. But this time I'm sad to say we CAN'T give good review. We took an old inexpensive watch to get crystal replaced. I didn't mind paying $65 to be done because the watch had sentimental value for my son. He's been wearing for years with a scratched crystal because it was his late grandfathers. It was a surprise for Christmas. We took it home and while I'm standing there talking to my son in his room that is carpeted he dropped the watch, maybe 3 feet ON CARPET. The crystal shattered. The most bizarre thing I've ever seen. I've had so many watches over the years and never broke glass on a watch. Scratches yes but this was unexplainable. We spoke with jeweler about it. They argued the crystal was strong crystal and could not have happened unless it was hit hard. And to be honest if I hadn't been standing there talking with my son, I may have doubted as well. I asked jewelry if maybe glass could have been flawed or maybe some other explanation but they felt no fault of their own and said they would replace again minus labor for $40. I get their position. They don't want to be out money. No one does! But I do know that in my dads business, we didn't have customers walking away without resolution. Sometimes we would come out on losing end to resolve an issue. My dad had loyal customers because of that standard. Instead, it's my family that is out the cash and left to get another business to fix the watch. read more

Very disappointed in this company!!!! The blond woman who works the counter is very nice! BUT - my man gave me an engagement ring but did not (of course) tell me what it was worth or give me an appraisal so I took it into this shop which I have done business with before and asked them to tell me what the ring was worth. The owner of the company said "between $1,000 and $1,500". I was kind of upset that my man would give me such an inexpensive ring that I almost gave it back to him but she convinced me not to do that. I took it to an appraisal service and got back a 6 page report on that ring yesterday and was shocked to learn the actual value was 6X more that what they quoted! What started out as a decent customer-business relationship recently went downhill and deteriorated quickly with Rudi Fine Jewelry. After making prior purchases, all at marked-up prices, I once again paid more--20% more than the exact same watch at Macy's--in order to try to keep my business with a smaller, local business. However, this time, I not only paid more for jewelry that is easily found cheaper at local retail stores, I requested engraving, at a considerable cost of $60. On the day I was to pick up the watch, I was told the owner scratched the back, so would order the "exact same Bulova watch back, just like the original, complete with serial number and all identifiers as on the original. This was not the case. The new watch back was a universal watch back and was nothing like the original. To make matters worse, the owner admittedly scratched the silver watch band near the face. The scratch is extremely noticeable, and when I pointed it out, I was told "it must have occurred during the engraving." Why??? I had specifically asked, prior to engraving, if care would be taken and the watch would be safeguarded against scratching/damage during the engraving. I was repeatedly assured not to worry, the watch would not be scratched. When I voiced my distress over the wrong watch back and the scratched band, I was told, via text, which I still have, that my engraving cost would be refunded to me for my troubles. When I went in to store to pick up the refund, I was told no, there would be no refund given. What??? Why offer the engraving refund--in writing, that I have proof of--and then retract the offer???? This is highly unprofessional and extremely poor business relations!!!! I was blatantly lied to by this business after paying for a scratched watch, which also has a different watch back than the one that comes with the watch brand new--that I overpaid for in the first place!!!!! Shame on this business for not only drastically up charging local residents, who are trying to help keep local businesses afloat, but also for damaging paid for merchandise and then offering a very small token of compensation, only to flat out lie and take the offer back!!!! This watch was to be a sentimental gift to my son and Rudi Fine Jewelry greatly lessened the joy of giving my son the watch. I will take my business to an upstanding retailer who doesn't have exorbitant prices, damage the merchandise I've purchased from them before I ever walked out of the store with it, or blatantly lie and retract offers of compensation after they've made the offer in writing. read more

I had a cleaning done here a while ago so I came back to have my rings resized and a saughter done on another. Although they do good work, the pricing is ridiculous. I paid for it this time, but I will be finding another jeweler in Marietta. It was $75 for each ring to be resized and $25 for each saughter place. That's crazy. I took a WHITE gold chain for repair. It was broken in two parts. When I picked it up, it looked like a blob of YELLOW gold had been placed to join the two pieces. Very noticeable as it was in the center of the length of chain. Saleswoman suggested "just turn it around." Really? In the center of the chain? The man who had taken it in offered to "dip it in rhodium" to make it the same color. But then it would be a white gold blob. He offered to not charge me for the repair, but he would have to take out his piece of yellow gold and return it to the broken chain I brought in. I chose to pay his fee and take it to another jeweler. He wanted to know where I was taking it (wonder why). I took it to my hometown jeweler in North Carolina who said it was a poor repair job.
