Oscar helped me with jeans while another staff member helped my bf with tshirts (didn't catch his name). I told Oscar my dilemma with my 1955 jeans, and he recommended boncoura work pants to me. I think they're a new product and were made in partnership with self edge? I don't remember all the details beyond him telling me he fits women in these pants because they surprisingly fit women really well. I tried them on...and yeah. I walked out of the store with them and wore them the rest of the day lol. Everyone was super helpful while we shopped and tried clothes on. I think I actually had a better experience here than at the SF store. They have a parking lot out front, so the store is really accessible. If you're looking for raw denim, visit self edge. If you're looking for premium, well-made basics or you're into working menswear from Japan, go to self edge. They're knowledgeable, and they're passionate about the industry and products they carry. I'm glad self edge opened a store in Austin bc I'm pretty sure there isn't another store here that is within this market of clothing. I'll definitely come back as soon as my budget allows!

DEFINITELY WORTH THE DRIVE!!! Love the staff along with the high quality clothing and name brands…read moresuch as Ralph Lauren, Neiman Marcus, Peter Millar, Patagonia, and Lululemon...and muchhhhh moreee. Second Looks is clearly his baby: he's not just an attentive consultant, responding to your preferences on house, material, and tailoring (thankfully, he is not hesitant to offer his excellent suggestions on fit and styling), he's also a gentleman and a scholar, eager to share his considerable knowledge about the history of menswear, soul music, and rodeo, having been a cowboy himself before working in radio and taking over Second Looks. Michael's selection is fantastic. he showed me suits and separates from Brooks Brothers Golden Fleece, Drake's, Canali, and local Austin bespoke tailors Capra and Cavelli. He's got Allen Edmonds shoes and a great collection of belts, which seem to go very quickly. I didn't peruse his selection of casualwear, but it seemed just as well-curated and complete as his formal sections. I walked out with a Golden Fleece jacket and alligator belt having spent about $115--he gave me the educator discount. I couldn't have asked for better value. Having lived in Boston, Cleveland, Charleston, SC, Eugene, OR, Granada, Spain, and Norwich, England, I've never been so impressed by a menswear shop, let alone a secondhand store, or by its owner. TL;DR: Go see Michael. He's got the goods.

I should have known better when she wasn't even paying attention while scanning and just had this I don't care attitude the whole time but we were in such a rush that we didn't even look through our stuff until now. I'm back home and I had gotten a cute pair of Dr. Martens that I wanted to wear and after cutting off the tag and peeling the sticker on the inner heel off realized the security tag was left on one of the shoes. Today I was going to return three items that didn't work out and after looking over the receipt realized I was charged twice on an item. I went to a nearby Ross to ask if it would even be possible to get a refund and to remove the security tags and they told me I would have to go back to the original store for the refund and because the original tag isn't on the shoes they couldn't remove the security tag. When I called this store to ask if they could review the tapes over the phone they said I would have to do it in person. We decided to accept the $16 loss over the 2 hour drive and gas wasted to stand there as they verify I was double charged. We just don't have the time to make that trip again but seriously train your staff to pay more attention when handling people's merchandise. It's an easy enough job you're just scanning the items. I shouldn't have to stand guard the next time someone scans my items to make sure they're doing it right when they could have done it right in the first place.
