TOTALLY REGRET shopping here... Owner is a Con-Man. ****See Update - Owner SCREAMS PROFANITIES. The owner sold us a white, patterned "silk" rug for $1,600. - on sale from $2,500. He said the rug was such "amazing quality" that we could "trade it out, even years from now, because the rug would always retain its value and he could resell it." That made us feel safe about our purchase. After having the rug 6 months I wanted to have it cleaned. He quoted me almost $400. When I told him I was shopping around he totally panicked. He actually called me back twice again the same day to try to convince me to bring it to him. But I decided to use someone else. Now I know why he was so nervous... When the rug cleaner came he refused to clean the rug. He explained that not only was the rug NOT SILK, but it was actually the absolute cheapest type of rayon. Because of that the fibers were already completely damaged and weren't going to release any of the dirt. He showed me where the original tag had been removed so we wouldn't know the contents of the rug which actually proves this was done on purpose to deceive buyers. He said we could have gotten a better quality rug for under $200 at Costco and recommended we throw the rug away. As far as his cleaning practices: Other shops charged the same to pick up the rug and clean it by hand in a warehouse which is a clean environment. Then they use professional machines to pull out the water and hang dry the rug and return it to you free of charge. This guy charges for pick-up and delivery. And while he tells you he goes through a 12-step process - blah, blah, blah, - he really he just throws your rug on the parking lot behind his place and has guys use brooms and buckets. Not very professional for sure. If you've already purchased a rug from him, do yourself a favor and have it checked out - especially if it's an expensive oriental rug. If you haven't yet visited this store, don't waste your time or money shopping here. -------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: Owner is EXTREMELY ABUSIVE and SCREAMS PROFANITIES. I phoned the Owner, Sam, to discuss the situation. I explained who I was and he immediately asked me if I had posted the previous review. When I told him I was, he asked me if I knew what the word "ignorant meant" and that if I wasn't STUPID and IGNORANT I would have known that I should only have the rug cleaned by him because he knows how to clean his own rugs. When I mentioned the poor quality, he refused to discuss it and told me to bring the rug to him for cleaning and everything would be fine. I declined and said that I wasn't interested in doing that. I explained I had two testimonies from rug professionals that verified the rug was SYNTHETIC, NOT SILK, as he had claimed. That's when he went ballistic and said, "You can take those testimonies and shove them up your a**, you F'ing Mother F'er!....You stupid, ignorant Mother F'er!!!!! Take those testimonies and just shove them up your F'ing a**!" I just hung up the phone while he was still yelling. But a few minutes later he had the nerve to call me back and tell me that I was stupid and need to text him a copy of the receipt immediately so he could look up the purchase. I just hung up again. STAY AWAY! These people basically stole our rugs and will not give them back unless I pay them what started out to be $250, then $1800 and now we don't have a clue as to what the amount is. They have blocked all our calls, the owner will go into a tirade of profanity if you say something he doesn't like and then hang up on you. The owner was run out of Laguna Beach with multiple accusations of him rape, assaulting women and battery. Google his name, you will see his mug shot, Saeid Maralan. has convictions in other cities as well. Just a crook, registered sex offender and a real sleaze ball in our opinion. We are having to sue him to retrieve our rugs. Our attorneys are telling us he has violated a number of civil laws which he knows about but doesn't seem to even even care. He told me he would throw the letter from our attorney in the trash. That is certainly his prerogative but not wise. The business is in a lady's named called Parisa Hojatti for court purposes. This is sad because there are so many nice law abiding Iranian people we know, he is not one of them. I truly feel sorry for his wife.
