We just had our entire house re floored (2600 sq. ft). We got several estimates before we decided on Designer's Magic. They were very professional and honest with us. Not only did we get the best price, their sales people, measurers and installers were all top notch. Having the entire house torn apart for a week and a half was a nightmare but we expected that. The guys did amazing work and gave us everything we wanted. The dust was kept to a minimum because of the care they took covering everything and they took care to make sure we could live in our house during the installation. These guys measured my room incorrectly and tried to overcharge me for materials in the bid they gave. I went to show pictures, video, and proper measurements and they talked down to me and tried to belittle me. They never looked at the photo/video evidence. I yelled at them and left. I didn't take their bid because it was dishonest. I offered a counter bid. They didn't like it. People like me that are on the autistic spectrum need to be told the truth. If we know you're lying or taking shortcuts we will angrily call it out. This place is not recommended unless you have cash to blow and will just take whatever dishonest bid they offer you. read more

It took several months to decide which wood floors I wanted to install. The staff in both the San Clemente and Aliso Viejo locations were extremely helpful and patient. They repeatedly showed me photographs and discussed various options with me. The install was excellent and the installers were neat and efficient. I recently replaced my 30 year old carpet (yuck) with new LVP from Designer magic. In preparation for this job they also had to remove over 250sq ft of saltillo tile, marble, and linoleum flooring. They also installed and painted new baseboards. I worked with Steven at Designer Magic who did a great job coordinating the entire project. I appreciate the fact that he was able to price match a competitor's bid, showed up at the job site, monitored the progress, kept me informed, was easy to reach, and kept each step of the process moving efficiently. I was also very pleased with the lead installer Rolando. His team worked nonstop and I felt very confident they knew what they were doing. After the carpet was removed, it was determined my concrete foundation was not flat enough to meet the manufacturer installation requirements and would have to be leveled. At first I thought this was possibly an unecessary add-on for profit. Rolando showed me specifically where the floor needed to be leveled. After watching him work I trusted that the liquid leveling was necessary. In addition I read online about problems people had when they installed LVP over a floor not flat enough (seperation of the planks). Unfortunately my dog got in and ran through before the leveling concrete had hardened. I couldn't believe I had let that happen! The next day Rolando was very kind about it and was able to quickly overcome this additional problem. The owner of Designer Magic, Richard, also stopped by twice to check on the project. Awful customer service! Awful installation! Awful carpet quality. I asked for the sample I picked from to be brought back to my house to compare what I picked compared to what I received. They never complied. I am sure the sample is better quality then what I received. If no stars were an option I would pick that for company. The installers put a giant hole in my wall that they didn't tell me about until I noticed it later that night. Took them over a month to fix after trying to blame me! From the store to the installation team, the whole experience was awesome. Great input and care selecting our floor. The install team was awesome. They moved all of our furniture out in one day, leveled the floor and then came back and installed living, dining, family room, three bedrooms and four closets on their return the next day. Oh, and they moved all of the furniture back into the house that same day they installed the floor. Most of the people that work there are quite nice. However, we worked with RJ Osborne who when there was an issue with installation of wood flooring was extremely rude and insulted my husband. Beware- they over measure for material then charge you installation pricing for all of it. Even if it is 2 EXTRA boxes of flooring, you are charged for installation. They measured completely wrong. Also, their wood installation crew act like they don't speak English so they don't have to answer any questions. They made a mess of the walls in the room the flooring was to be installed. I actually had to paint after they left. We ended up buying the flooring material only and installing it ourselves. I was also going to have them put new carpet in 3 bedrooms but will have Sterling do it instead. You may want to save yourself a headache and go elsewhere. read more
