I really didn't know what to say to say to that so that was the end of the conversation. Are they so sure that their prices are so unrealistic that why bother to even try? We've also received estimates from two other companies who told us we had at least five years left on our roof and just needed to repair a section around the chimney; Newman said we needed to replace the whole thing. Surprise! When I asked about the soffit, his first question was "what's our budget?". I said it is whatever it costs and that we were comfortable with the other two estimates we'd received. He then said they weren't interested in bidding on the project. I said "Ok. Then thank you for your time." He was shocked I didn't want to know why. "Don't you know who we are?!" he said, like they are some sort of celebrity. "Don't you know our reputation?!" I just told him we were done and asked him to leave. We didn't even make it through everything we wanted to have done. Apparently he assumed we couldn't afford the work or realized that since we'd already had other estimates done he wasn't going to be able to talk us into unnecessary work. Either way, I am shocked and disgusted and only gave them one star because I couldn't give them zero!
