He told me that he would call me back in 30 minutes, and in less than 30 minutes, he called me right back and informed me that his son Daniel Jr. would be in my place within 15 minutes. After I hung up the phone, his son Daniel was already knocking on my door. Daniel Jr. is polite and respectful, checked my pool pump and timer, and he told me that my pool pump had already given up and needed a replacement. He gave me a quote for a replacement, and his price is within the price range (I already checked how much it will cost to replace it). Daniel Jr. told me that he would come the following day around 7 a.m., and the next day, he was already at my place before 7 am. He got the job done in less than two hours; he cleaned his work area and helped me set up the new pool pump. Overall, my experience with this company is top-notch, with 100% customer service in mind. Although I was about to purchase a hot tub from a large, well known dealer in Corona, I decided to look at Custom Spas Direct, which has good online reviews and happens to be very close to our house. I'm glad I did. I was not familiar with the Vita spa brand that Custom Spas Direct sells. There's very little information available online. After doing some digging, I determined that Vita is a decent, mid-range spa with competitive pricing. Nothing fancy, but it's built with good components from companies like Balboa Water Group. Dealing with Custom Spas Direct has been fantastic. It's a small company and we interacted directly with Jim Galpin, the owner. Jim is a straightforward guy and he was very helpful in choosing a spa. Since I was unfamiliar with Vita, I had a lot of questions and he patiently answered all of them. He quickly responded whenever I sent him a text with a question or request. After the purchase, he was super flexible with regard to delivery, setup timing, coordinating with the electrician's schedule, etc. The delivery and setup was quick and well done. The installer did a good job answering all of my questions. We've had the spa six months and have had a couple of minor issues. One was probably due to user error on my part and the other was not. In both cases, Jim responded to my texts immediately and quickly resolved my issue, even during a holiday week. I'm so glad I purchased from a local dealer that provides such fantastic service after the sale. I'm sure a larger dealer would not have given us the same treatment. Thanks Jim! Five stars!

For a project costing approximately $36,000, I expected a more thorough pre-installation process. In my opinion, someone from Tropicana should have visited the site before fabrication or delivery to verify measurements, confirm utility locations, and ensure the structure would fit properly in the designated area. A simple site inspection could have identified potential issues before installation. There was a measurement discrepancy that required the unit to be modified. I appreciate that Tropicana corrected the issue at no additional cost, and I want to acknowledge that they did take responsibility for making that correction. However, the larger concern was the lack of clarity regarding utility hookups. I was later referred to information on the back page of the contract regarding these requirements, but I never received or reviewed that page during the purchasing process. Had those details been clearly provided and discussed upfront, I could have made the necessary preparations before delivery and installation. Because the island was installed without identifying these access challenges beforehand, I have incurred additional costs. My electrician charged an additional $300 due to the difficulty accessing the electrical connection, and I now need to hire a plumber for approximately $500 because the access area is too confined for me to complete the plumbing connections myself. The Tropicana team has been responsive and professional in addressing some of these issues, and I appreciate their willingness to work through problems. However, for a premium product at this price point, I believe the installation process should include a site verification and a much clearer discussion of customer responsibilities before installation begins. The island itself looks great, and I hope to enjoy it for many years. My feedback is intended to help Tropicana improve the customer experience for future customers investing in a significant backyard project.

I would ask about resurfacing the pool and somehow end up with a quote to replace half the yard. Some of the estimates I received were two to three times higher than what I ended up paying. He actually ripped out a small rose bush and hid it in the trash. Grass cutting and branches left everywhere, debris blown not raked up. There are now sharp stems from weeds on every lawn, some 5" tall. Dangerous to step on. Photos don't lie. We now have days of work to clean up the disaster left behind. Don't hire Manuel, the first and second visits were clearly a bait and switch.

They have everything from volcanic rocks to ones that look like they belong in Red Rock. They also have huge piles where you can haul rocks away in a truck for larger projects. I could not believe that they even sell giant boulders there. This is definitely my new favorite place for any rock or gardening projects. They removed old, water-stained paver bricks from…read moreour front entry atrium and replaced them with new pavers, seamlessly tying into existing brickwork for a superb look. Another project we had was to remedy an efflorescence-stained faux rock wall resulting from an ill-designed waterfall feature put in by the previous owner of the house in the front entry atrium. Otelio, the Veliz Masonry owner, contacted the manufacturer of the faux rock wall and discovered a staining method that could be used to bring back the original colors and luster of the damaged wall (see photos). They did an absolutely wonderful job of restoring the wall to its original beauty and we couldn't be happier with the results, which exceeded our highest expectations. Finally we had Veliz remove about 120 lineal feet of loose or damaged brick capstone off of retaining walls in our back yard and replace them with a high end Sonorastone flat wall cap (see photo). Again, Otelio and crew did a masterful job of installation to greatly enhance the beauty of our backyard. Otelio, his sons Manny and Diego, and his brother Gerry, were the crew who did all of the work. They performed in a highly professional manner and paid attention to every detail to ensure a super high quality job. Prior the starting the work they meticulously prepped the work area to protect against damage and were very conscientious about cleanup as the work progressed. They kept to the work schedule, showing up on time each day and putting in a full day's work with excellent communication throughout the duration of the project. It's refreshing (and rare) to find such a great contractor that is so attuned to the customer's needs. Veliz Masonry is the real deal and are honest, courteous, hard-working and very talented in their trade, providing a superior product at a fair price. What really made them stand out from all of the other quotes we received for this project was the very detailed quote, the quality of work we could see in their previous jobs (yelp reviews), and most of all the quick responses/communication. They didn't just remove my old concrete and pour new, they actually helped move and adjust parts of my sprinkler system in multiple locations so that not only would it not get damaged, but would be accessible when I need to repair/move it in the future. If I thought it wasn't going to be done properly, I would have preferred to pay. When my family came to visit, the yard was NOTICEABLY poorly cared for. I WAS EMBARRASSED!!! Why? because they failed to mow or tend to the trees and scrubs . At the time I was in poor health yet and still I've had to trim trees and scrubs and still have to pick up what is CLEARLY BLOWN trash!!! HE was angry because I didn't want his service anymore more and he kept threatening me if I left a bad yelp review, so he wrote: ( mind you this is the man that LIES about everything) ~"you. Be careful-l am a child of God and His servant. Be careful, because my Father might punish you for what you're doing!" AND: ~"You better pay or I'll call collections "His workers scraped up and threw away the landscaping rocks because they didn't feel like sorting out the seeds that fell into them. I asked WELL IN ADVANCE, suggesting that they either replace them or I could take it out of the bill..... weeks in advance. Mind you, he's paid under the table ... I have proof. He was concerned about ICE and I told him not to worry that he could stay here awhile etc.. ~"if you post on my page ( YELP)I will take you to court for employee abuse and for making threats-because you *are* threatening me by saying that if I don't do what you want, you'll leave comments." ~Yesterday, I spent money on gas and paid a helper to fetch stone, and I gave it to you as a bonus just to make you happy. But even that wasn't enough. Reminder, HIS EMPLOYEES THREW THE OTHERS, but he was given the option, if I buy them I'll have to pay shipping, if you choose to bring them ..... you won't. ~"you. You'd think we would have developed a relationship by now but not true. He wrote me a note detailing all FIVE XTRA Things that he's done over a 2 year period. Since he's NOT an honest man, I could guess at least some of it's true....it's NOT. His workers used to come at a decent time of day. Now they come late and stay 45 minutes at most I have been I poor health lately yet and still | have to trim and pick up what is CLEARLY BLOWN trash!!! See pictures I'd rather pay and get it done correctly than half done for FREE! I've caught him in so many lies. He won't answer texts or phone calls. So if I need something done or have a concern.....l can never get in contact.. UNLESS IT HAS TO DO WITH GETTING HIM PAID. I told him I wanted my stairs in my walkway, demoed and new curbing around the plants with all new plants and a side wall stuccoed. I received an email with the estimate from Jose. I was able to contact Jose and Jesus regularly. Jose and his workers started on Monday, February 23 and completed the job on Friday, February 27, including the addition of a wrought iron handrail and new Rainbird control for my existing sprinkler system. The team worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up at the end of each day. Jesus answered my many questions with patience. They did a great job. I highly recommend JJL landscaping for your landscaping and concrete needs.

Horrible work, unprofessional behavior, promises but does not deliver…read more He doesn't follow through with details in contract. If his crew lacks experience in doing a task, he has them just leave it as is and simply tells the customer/me, what I'm asking for "is not possible and he doesn't have time nor the money to try and fix my issues". Every time I'd call for an issue, he'd be upset screaming and threaten to take his people off the job. One day he will be pleasant and easy to work with and the next day he can be disrespectful and unprofessional. On top of everything else, he will be deceitful. He promised me "Duramax" Vinyl fencing. He provided me an invoice specifying Duramax was purchased. Once the job was done, I had already lost all trust in this man and grew suspicious, so I called a Duramax rep to come out and inspect the product....I'm glad I did. The fence he used was a cheap product manufactured in China. I went as far as calling the company shown on the invoice - AG Fencing Supply. They told me they do not sell Duramax and do not sell to contractors. I spent thousands of dollars for peace of mind a "licensed contractor" would do a good job without having any issues - I was so wrong.
