Kroger recently added grocery pick up! Using the Kroger app, you can order anything Bryan Station Kroger has & have it delivered to Cynthiana Rulers. I made my 1st order today. Ruler Foods is just the grocery store this town needed. At least, for me. [I'd love a Whole Foods or similar store but I KNOW that won't be happening any time soon, probably not at all.] The only other options in Cynthiana are Walmart (meeehhhhh), Save-A-LOT (just... nope), or Ken's (which is OK but really limited and overpriced). Due to these options, I find myself driving to the Kroger in Georgetown most of the time. Well.... I may not have to do that anymore! Ruler Foods has brought a little bit of Kroger to town. If you know and love Kroger, you'll be prone to like Ruler Foods. The store carries Kroger brand items and organic products. There's no deli or bakery of any sort since it's just several aisles of groceries, but you probably could complete all your grocery shopping here (and even pick up some paper towels or cat litter) as long as you're not seeking something specialized or obscure. The building itsef isn't large -- it's just five or six aisles -- and you may only be able to find two or three different kinds of whatever product you're looking for, but the selection is great. A quick walk-through and I was able to find SimpleTruth nondairy milks, organic baking ingredients, organic pasta & sauce, MorningStar patties, organic tofu, and more. I was delighted to find so many good, organic products mixed in with the regular offerings --- meats, milks, frozen foods, snacks, pasta, veggies, fruits, etc. Bring a quarter and your own bags. You need a quarter to use a shopping cart (you get the quarter back when you're done with the cart), and there are just four checkout lanes -- in which you bag your own groceries. They have plastic Ruler bags for $.10, but you're better off bringing in your own. It's very, very similar to Aldi's. At least they accept credit cards here. Speaking of.... the prices are amazing!! We left with half a cart full of items for only $40. FANTASTIC. I was freaking out a bit at how much food we were putting in our cart (more than I had on my grocery list) and was so relieved to find out how low all the costs were. I'm sure they're pretty low right now because the store just opened, but even still, they're affordable and it's not just for processed, crap foods (like Save-A-Lot). The employees seemed really excited to work here and the store is super clean. Yeah, it's new and fresh, but I have a feeling it will last. I'm planning to come here as often as I can. Simple, good grocery shopping. It's about time, Cynthiana. read more

Rulersfoods is using instacart for their delivery service don't call for this service it's terrible I have only ordered twice but I regretted it both times the first time I ordered it said a 30 minute delivery but ended being over four hours they stated that they were having trouble getting a driver to the store to do the shopping and for my trouble they were going to refund my service fee that was a lie. Well like a dummy I tried them again thinking this time might be better well it wasn't I made an order before 6 o'clock and after calling them multiple times I received my stuff after 9 o'clock I don't think the driver made it to the store before they closed because rulers closes at 9 my stuff came to me in Dollar general bags and I was charged more than I was supposed to be.dont go with this service it's a joke.the company has no clue what their drivers are doing and they have no guarantee that you will even get your groceries the same day you order.as a grocery store rulersfoods is great they just need to get a more reliable delivery service read more

It's probably one of my favorite grocery stores! My dad is from Cynthiana, so we try to visit often and we always stop here. I'm not a fan of huge, open stores because it gives me major panic attacks - but this store does the opposite. I can feel calm and in peace while shopping. It's one of the only stores (besides Target and Kroger) where I can feel like myself and not like an emotional mess. All of the employees are kind and caring, joking around with customers, as well! The pricing is well and the expiration dates are always not for another few months or even YEARS! read more

Good food. Great prices. Pleasant cashiers. While I'm not crazy about all of their food selections, overall it is my favorite place to shop.

Reasonable prices. Good quality produce and meats. While not as fancy as other Kroger establishments, it does have the same Kroger label products at even better prices. Take your own bags because the charge a dime for each bag. Ample parking and speedy checkout (usually). read more
