Overall the food was pretty good but the service leaves MUCH to be desired. The food was rolling out so fast that it was clear they wanted you in and out immediately. The servers brought out the appetizers and entire meal at the same time. You could CLEARLY see we'd just started eating and there wasn't even room on the table to sit the stuff down but they just kept on until I asked them to STOP! Octopus was overcooked and had to be sent back. Our exact same dish was served with a different presentation. Our server was nice but was mediocre in general. I spoke to Erin (Manager) about the experience who seemed none to concerned in general. Overall this place is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED for what your getting. With these type of prices I expected a better experience. There are too many nice places in the Bay Area so I'd say try another one. Fun place to sit and check out their big fish tank...while you eat fish. LOL It was a quiet spot to refresh after the long drive from Orlando. Two friends and I sat down and I loved the lit up menu, so much better than having to break out my cellphone to light it up. I ordered the achiote marinate fish tacos which comes with jicama slaw and cilantro sour cream and a side of curly fries ($14). My friends ordered the bronzed grouper on brioche with shaved lettuce, tomato and jerked tartar ($17); Creole BBQ shrimp (it was 6 large ones) with a spicy Worcestershire butter seasoned in rosemary and charred lemon atop toast points ($13). After the Tampa Bay Rays baseball game, George and I went to Rumfish Grill at St. Petersburg beach. This restaurant is owned by the famous Guy Harvey. We went there because we watched a show called "Tanked" on "Animal Planet" a while ago where this company builds enormous fishtanks for display at restaurants attractions and homes. They built a large 55,000 gallon tank and made it look like you were scuba diving under water. They also made a smaller tank for the side of the restaurant. You can view the fish tank from the dining room or you can go around the side and see the fish tank sideview from there. It was very dimly lit so that you could see the illuminated tank. The very cool thing was that when you open the menus they were illuminated also. Definitely have never seen that before in any restaurant I've been in. George and I ordered a cocktail (Fish Tanked and Shark Bite). They were very tasty. The Fish Tanked was tropical fruit flavored. The Shark Bite was a mixture of Spiced Rum, Blue Curaçao and Sloe Gin. George ordered seafood brochette which is seafood on the skewer over wilted salad. He really loved that. I ordered green curry with chicken and jasmine rice. That was tasty too but a little more spicy than I wanted it. Overall our experience was faurly pleasant except for the fact that our waitress kept disappearing and we had to get the hostess and other waiters and waitresses to fill our water, bring us some salt and clear our plates on the table. I really enjoyed the food. I got salmon and it was amazing and was dressed up in a way a haven't seen before. The setting was very fancy and the fish tank looked great and unique. Waitress very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Opted for the conch fritters and Cesar salad with grilled shrimp skewer. Also had the tank (rum drink). Fritters are served with a delicious aoli that was light and perfect. The shrimp was nicely done and the fresh chunks of Parmesan on the salad were tremendous. Big portions and decent value. My wife and I went here for our anniversary and had such a great experience from the moment we arrived. We were seated next to the huge fish tank, which is like getting a front row seat at a concert. For an appetizer, we started with the seared scallops, which were delicious. For dinner, my wife ordered the mahi and I had the grouper piccata. Both were great. After dinner, we almost made a big mistake because we weren't sure if we were going to have dessert. Thankfully, our server, Jen Fig, told us that there was a new pastry chef who makes all the desserts in-house. Jen raved about the chef's newest creation, a lemon meringue cheesecake which I don't even think is on the menu yet. My boyfriend and I came in late on Wednesday night right before the kitchen was to close. Although the huge aquarium tanks inside were appealing and beautiful, we sat on the deck outside instead. The live music that was playing was just ok.. We decided to order our food fairly quickly since the kitchen was closing. Our waitress/the bartender was very helpful in helping us choose what dish to select. After choosing the food and placing our order, we were able to order a couple cocktails from the bar which were great. My boyfriend ordered the twin lobster tails with very high hopes. Unfortunately, it was very chewy and slightly over cooked. He didn't let that stop him though.... I ordered the swordfish which was full of amazing flavors and very tasty. The dish as a whole was very good. Everything from the jalapeño pineapple salsa to the red beans and rice. It was quite enjoyable. I would consider coming back again when in town. The Jerked Swordfish is so overcooked it's hard and has no flavor, no jerk flavor and NOT worth $33. The lemon pappardelle pasta is SO salty it's not eatable, I understand everyone's taste is different but the amount of saltiness is almost just as bad as eating straight salt like if I just put some salt on a spoon and ate it. The pasta only had 2 shrimp & 2 scallops. The pasta was clumped together, it was also supposed to consist of ratatouille vegetables , which was no where to be found in the dish. NOT WORTH $24. Added a side of mashed potatoes, it tastes and feel like they maybe boiled and microwaved a potato and half ass mashed it up and then up and threw it in a Togo container. Wouldn't recommend the blue crab bisque, got HALF a bowl of soup for the price of a whole bowl, has a lot of crab meat however has ALOT of shells. Two indoor areas: one is a full bar with a full counter and stools where you can order an appetizer & drink while you are waiting on your table...second, there is a beautiful indoor restaurant surrounded by floor to ceiling fish tanks. The food is always delicious. I ordered the grouper & my husband ordered the swordfish. Our kids had the shrimp and grits and we were all pleased. Went for apps and drinks with colleagues late one afternoon. It was not too crowded and we sat outside. I like what they've turned this in to. The atmosphere is cool and they really spent money to make it cool. Guy Harvey all the way with an entire store dedicated to his wears. The fish tank is neat, the big one has a shark in it as well as an eel and you don't have be dining to see it as they have a viewing area. I heard you can snorkel with the fish as well. The ahi tuna was amazing. They have fun cocktails too and I had something with gin and cucumber. I'd like to go back for dinner at some point, but getting to the beach can be such a hassle. RumFish Grill is a solid option on St. Pete Beach. On the resort strip, it's a bit pricey (as one would expect) but the service is fantastic, as is the food! I was a bit nervous because there are so many mixed reviews, but was overwhelmingly impressed by the quality of food and service. Service: We were seated immediately, our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, food arrived very, very quickly, all in all really wonderful service on a busy Saturday night! Ambiance: Really fun; spacious but still feels intimate, and obviously the huge fish tank is a pleasure to look at! The Guy Harvey artwork all over the walls is really neat as well. The place is dark, so the menus light up which is fun. Food: The best part! We started with the crispy squid, and it was one of the better fried calamaris I've ever had, and an extremely generous portion... the 2 dipping sauces were great (try them together!). The grilled swordfish with pineapple salsa was absolutely perfectly portioned and cooked. The prickly pear mojito was super delicious and very strong! Main highlight is the giant tank that was featured on a reality TV show. For a few hundred dollars, you can have them drop a sign (with whatever you want to say) in the tank. For a few more dollars, they can even have a scuba diver hold the sign. We did this as a nice kick-off to our annual sales meeting. However, the manager that helped coordinate the event, failed to specify that it would only hang in there for 10-15 mins. Our group only had appetizers (firecracker shrimp, Korean BBQ skewers and etc.) and cocktails, all good. Tables in front of the tank is prime real estate (of course) so try to make reservations in advance to secure your spot! read more

For a hotel/resort restaurant, it's actually pretty good. The giant fishtank is obviously the cool talking point here, but don't be one of those jags who goes right up to it if you're not seated there to take pictures with the flash on using your dumb iPhone. I promise nobody on your snapchat cares about you putting the caption "dinner!" over a picture of a tarpon. Anyway, they've got a decent local beer selection and the grouper sandwich was legit, so I guess there are worse places to drop $70 on a lunch. The food here is pretty tasty and delicious. I had the rumfish cioppo? (Not exactly sure how it's spelled) it was pretty good but I've had better. The crusted grouper was pretty good as well. For the prices of there entrees I could probably go elsewhere for something better in my opinion. The crap dip was amazing I'd recommend getting that for sure. The service was what was expected, fairly quick and efficient. It is worth going here for a nice view of the fish tank that was featured on tank. I would suggest asking for a table closer to the fish tank to get a good view of it while dining. Ew. Do not get the Buitoni and seared chicken dish or the lemon pappardelle. Chicken dish came as more of a soup. Tasted like a soupy vegetable soup with dry small pieces of chicken. The lemon pappardelle tasted like someone poured a gallon of lemon juice into the pasta. Veggies were undercooked as well. The jalapeño margarita tasted like ocean water. Barely ate any of the dishes and the waitress did not say a word but very clearly saw that we did not enjoy the dinner at all. Waitress brought us the check and sent us on our way without addressing the situation. We left feeling very unvalued and quite frankly sick to our stomachs.
