We walked in at 9:20 on a Saturday. There was one table sat outside (never a great sign when almost no one is seated at a restaurant that's been opened 80 minutes on a weekend). We were greeted, if you can call it that, by a server who rolled his eyes and said, "give us a few minutes there is only two of us," as he walked by us. Again, there was ONE table sat outside. I understand hating a morning shift or being in the weeds but one single employee and his terrible attitude just ended our willingness to even try SKD Kitchen and Drinks. Bummer considering we're local and love to patron local restaurants, but with that being our first impression we imagined there was no way it would improve so we left. read more

We came for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Lots of options on the menu. We decided to keep it simple and opted for the Pizza special. Large pizza of our choice and a drink for $15. Price performer. Delicious ingredients on a thin crust. This isn't a pizza restaurant, so it was a little surprising it was a good as it was. It's not a featured item, just the special of the day. That tells me the feast of the food has to be delicious. More on that in a moment. My wife had a mimosa that she reports was very good. Service is friendly and attentive, but not in your face. Nice balance. There when we needed them and a wave away things changed. There was live entertainment the night we visited. A tad loud for the space. The singer was pleasant and entertaining, but the volume should have been reduced by 1/4 or 1/3 for the space. We enjoyed it so much we decided to return for brunch the next morning. We opted for their $10 omelette special. Sounds like bargain restaurant shopping, but it was just a pleasant coincidence. There was no skimping on the these "brunch special" omelette. Cooked well and loaded with the ingredients (meat lovers for 3 of us and a Greek omelette for the hold out). Crispy home fries balancing crunchy on the inside and tender inside. Such a simple dish, but hard to get right. SDK did. I'd give it 4.5 but it's not an option. 5 of them music had been managed a little better. I know I reported we focused on the "specials" for these two visits, but regardless we'll be back even if the were no specials. Great addition to the St Pete Dining options the is so full of average tourist joints. This place stands out for the right reasons. read more

We had a delicious easter brunch! Our waitress was VERY attentive. I had the southern eggs Benedict and they were delicious. I really liked the tater tots too. My son had the Cuban eggs Benedict and that was delicious too! Very different twist on a bennie, but something he wants to make at home now. I also had an espresso for martini and it was perfect; not too sweet and not creamy. I only wish I had photos. read more

Fantastic new restaurant on the beach! The old Skidder's was known for good food and friendly service. The new restaurant has really good food, friendly service, and beautiful decor. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very clean. We visited for breakfast and we really enjoyed our meal. I had the Veggie Omelet with pepper jack cheese. It was large, fresh, and came with a nice serving of home fries. I added a bagel with cream cheese for $4. You can also add toast for $2.50. The coffee was hot and fresh, and our server, Joseph, kept bringing refills. There is lots of parking on the side and in the back. This is a wonderful breakfast spot on the beach! I look forward to visiting again soon for lunch or dinner. read more

Came here for brunch and had a wonderful experience. Staff were super welcoming as soon as we stepped in the door and our waiter was super accommodating with providing recommendations. The restaurant is super cute inside and good sized with plenty of setting. I got the build your own omelette and had the option to pick a side. The omelette was super yummy! The side of fruit was an extra up charge but the waiter took it off the bill which was super nice of him. My group of 3 also got the craft of mimosas which equaled to about 2-3 each. Highly recommend getting the craft if you want more than just 1 mimosa. Highly recommend this place for a nice brunch! read more

I live very close to the restaurant and have tried it numerous times. The food is ok, service and attitude of the owners, not good at all. This morning I took my family to breakfast, restaurant was fairly empty however they sat a table of 20 a bit prior to us. From the time we ordered to the time breakfast hit the table was over 50 minutes! This was for eggs and pancakes nothing crazy. The excuse they kept giving was they are backed up because they sat a table of 20. What if restaurant was actually busy or they had 4 more tables to serve? Again there must have been 15+ open tables. After asking multiple times where our order was the owner gave us such attitude, what would you like us to do? we sat 20 people! BTW, these people had their food long before we even asked. When our order finally came out it came out 1 at a time and even wrong. By the time the 4th person got her food (pancakes) everyone else at the table was finished eating and we took it to go. This was well over 75 minutes from when the pancakes were ordered. but hey, they gave me 20% off my $80 breakfast that we couldn't eat! what a joke!. Service and attitude was unacceptable! Although this place is steps away from my condo we will never eat here again! read more

Can't say enough great things about this place. We haven't been since it became SKD but we came for brunch and it was truly one the best brunch spots I have been to in the area. The Korean Chicken + waffle was unbelievable! Sweet, a little spice, soft, chewy & the pickled vegetables with sesame seed was the BEST I have ever had. It was the perfect combination, will be back just for this dish for sure. My husband had the PBJ French toast with bacon & they did not skip on the bacon!! Potatoes were seasoned perfectly & the coffee was yummy. I ordered the mimosa flight & it was worth it! I am super impressed with this place, not sure if there has been a change over hence the new name; but whatever it is keep it up! St. Pete Beach must go to for any food lover. read more

Tried the new reimagined Skidders today, now SDK. Skidders was a long time beach favorite with good food and service so it was going to be hard to beat. Walking in, the new decor was breathtaking. Clean and fresh and not overdone. Bianca was my bright and cheerful server and she did me right by answering all my questions about the new menu. The food was really good and in ample proportions. We came in for the $30 steak night after hearing so many great things about this place and were really excited to finally try it. Overall, we had a great experience and the food was honestly very good. The Caesar salad was delicious even though they were out of croutons and it came with spring mix instead of the traditional romaine, it was still flavorful and enjoyable. The ribeye itself was quite thin and didn't really feel like a 14-ounce cut, but it was cooked well and had great flavor. When my dinner came out, it included two different vegetables (broccoli and asparagus) but was missing the potatoes entirely, which was a bit strange. He did bring the potatoes out shortly after, and I appreciated that. Everything still tasted great. The only real issue was that they seemed to be out of quite a few basic items...cups for water, croutons, romaine lettuce, and even steak knives when the steaks were served. Our server himself was kind and attentive, so it seemed more like a stocking or preparation issue than anything else. We're locals and would love for this to become one of our regular spots because the food truly has a lot of potential. With a little improvement on making sure everything is fully stocked and ready for service, this place could easily be a go to for us. Bonus points for great music as well! We were a party of 9 locals with a reservation. We were seated on the side porch which worked well for our group. It took quite a while to get drinks and order our food. When the waiter brought out the first tray of food, he dropped it all on the floor. Ok, an accident. What happened next was disappointing. Half of the food came out and the dropped orders were refired. Some came out 15 minutes later, one 25 minutes later and one more that 35 minutes later when the other 8 were finished eating. No manager visited our table to apologize. The women who got her food last took it to go. When the bills came, she was charged for her drinks!!! And we all got to pay a 20% gratuity!!! Most of the ladies were first time guests so I am sure that will be their last time too. read more

Took a half hour to get our first drink so we ordered another round at the same time with the same result. Pizza was thin slice but not very good. Soup was served with dinner. Gyro and fries were cold. Probably a result of sitting on the line waiting for the pizza. Never be the same without Rosa. read more

We are locals and stopped in for breakfast after getting some fresh air on the beach. They have done a fantastic job in renovating after the storms. It is open with lots of light. The bar area is inviting and would be a great place to enjoy some drinks. We had an excellent experience omelette and a breakfast sandwich. The omelette was fluffy with just the right amount of bacon, onions, tomatoes and cheese. The sandwich was on a bagel that was super fresh! The home fries were delicious. Crispy outside, but soft potato inside! Coffee was also very good. Our server was Bianca and she was great. The Manager, TJ, checked on us too. We decided SKD's will probably be our new breakfast spot and we will go back and check out lunch or dinner. read more

We have been here before and have always had good food, so I am guessing this is a one off. My mother in-law lives nearby and ordered something no longer on the menu (the Filet). Waitress suggested the ribeye instead. The steak (ribeye???) was very thin and served on top of a bunch of fries. Very poor presentation. I asked if this was how it was to be served, and I was told yes. My guess was that this was how the off filet dinner was served. But then, she was charged for the ribeye dinner that was to include truffle potatoes and brocolinni. My grouper sandwich was very good and my wife's burger was also good. read more

Gyro platter, seafood combo, seafood pasta, and baked ziti, were all ordered and were all bland and fine. The staff was wonderful and the overall restaurant interior was nice - but sadly we will not be coming back. Not vegan friendly. I ordered the gyro platter with no tazatziki, no meat and asked for extra grilled vegetables. SKD - the rebirth of Skidder's Transitions are hard and this one has been a great success! We realized that Skidders has reopened after the storms and today we stopped by to check them out. This is definitely not the old Skidders! The new SKD's interior has been completely renovated with an expanded bar and much more comfortable seating & furnishings. Many familiar faces are back and Walter is still making great food suggestions & mixing wonderful drinks. We also had an opportunity to speak with the new Chef who has updated the menu to include some of the original favorites and a host of tasty new options. Make sure to try the Baked Oysters, the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, and the House made Desserts. We will be back! read more

Great stop for a fresh, mid day salad! The salad is always rinsed, portioned just right, and their Greek salad dressing is the best! Trust me, you'll want to take a dressing container to go so you can enjoy it at home on a salad! We also got the house salad with ranch, which is just a generic salad, but still fresh and crisp!
