I have been going to Caleb for over 11 years, and this was by far the worst experience I've had. He completely chopped my hair unevenly, kept taking personal calls during the haircut, and honestly seemed distracted and uninterested the entire appointment. It felt like he wasn't paying attention to what I wanted and just did whatever he wanted with my hair. I paid $165 for a haircut that I am extremely unhappy with and that will take a very long time to grow out and fix. After being a loyal client for so many years, this was really disappointing and upsetting. I even felt like because I hadn't gone in for a few years, there was some resentment or lack of care shown during the appointment. I went here because my mom had a great experience and I decided to not go to my usual hair lady which I regret and give this place a chance. I paid 430 dollars. I wanted a balayage with a shadow root the girl says no highlights are cheaper and better less maintenance . I said okay whatever you recommend. She does it I get a curly cut where that came out good. Then I leave mind you I'm there all day from 1130 am till 530 I don't see the orange in my hair and streaks like if I'm 12 years old. I go back the next day ask to fix it with toner and to please shadow root the top I don't lol streaks on top of it I have curly hair and the more it gets died the more it will fall out. Well Tanya tells me she too busy and will have someone else wash out my hair. That someone else was very unexperienced left chemicals in my scalp I had to pull over to the side of the road to wash it off. I left wet because she didn't even have moose or product in my hair only put oil. The diffuser fell on my head the owner dominque Watkins mouth dropped I then got upset and left. Again pulled over to wash out my hair and run home to wash it out three times. My hair line is messed up as well and unfortunately need Vaseline to take product off. I will never go back hete again I can't even fix it and dye my hair again for a while without causing damage and it's going to fall out. Train better hairstylist and dont over charge stating you can do curly hair when it's a lie. I'm the inconvenience because you are overbooked ? I was back in the Netherlands with a hairdresser who had 24 years of experience and won some prizes. I can tell, Eunice is maybe better than him, even she is still young with less experience. I had a bad experience with the person who schedules/cancels appointments. I called to cancel my appointment as I plan to travel the week of my appointment. This person was extremely rude when I asked if I would receive a text message for cancelling my appointment. I asked in order to confirm the cancellation and make sure I am not charged. I communicated that I haven't received a text. I was told that the text was sent. As I conveyed to the person that I didn't receive the text, I was told rudely, "The message was sent, do you understand?" I wish the person responded professionally. Since I insisted again, the person finally communicated to check the blvd.app to check the cancellation. I signed into the app and saw the cancellation. I wish this information had been conveyed professionally right at the beginning of the conversation. I am happy with my hairstylist and had planned to schedule future appointments. I am compelled to write this review after experiencing the WORST haircut of my LIFE at Society Salon, all thanks to the inexperience of the so-called stylist, Dani. I have never been into a hair salon or had my hair cut in my entire life. I came to Society Salon because they seemed like they knew what they were doing...little did I know that that was far from the truth. Despite the receptionist's insistence over the phone that Dani was skilled with curly hair, it was clear as my hair was getting chopped off, that they had absolutely no clue how to handle it. This review is a warning to all fellow curly-headed individuals seeking a new haircut: Stay far, FAR away from this DISASTER of a salon. From the moment I sat in Dani's chair, I provided extremely detailed instructions on how I wanted my curly hair to be cut. I let her know that I had never had my hair cut before, nonetheless been into a salon, and wanted to keep as much length as possible. I explained the importance of working with the natural curl pattern, maintaining length, and ensuring proper layering. However, my instructions seemed to enter one of Dani's ears and out the other. It was as if they were just going through the motions, not bothering to comprehend the unique needs of curly hair. As the cutting commenced, my heart sank further with each misplaced snip of the scissors as she got closer to my face framing pieces. Dani's complete disregard for my instructions was shocking. Instead of working with my natural curls, they chopped away haphazardly, leaving me with an uneven mess that resembled a botched experiment done by a 5 year old rather than a carefully styled haircut. My hopes of a fabulous new look were SHATTERED within seconds. To make matters worse, there was no attempt at communication or consultation throughout the process. Dani didn't bother to ask for clarification or provide any insight into the PERMANENT decisions they were making. It was clear they were simply winging it, with no regard for the DEVASTATING impact their inexperience would have on my appearance and self-esteem. This single trip to Society Salon highlights the urgent need for proper training and expertise in handling curly hair. Curly hair requires a unique approach and understanding of its characteristics, and it is painfully evident that Dani lacked both. It is UNFORGIVABLE for a stylist to claim proficiency in curly hair and then deliver such a disastrous outcome. I strongly advise all curly-haired individuals to steer clear of Society Salon unless you want to leave with a butchered haircut and the saddest you have ever been in your entire life. Save yourself the time, money, and emotional turmoil by seeking out a reputable salon with stylists who truly understand and appreciate the beauty of curly hair. To the management, reception, and stylists of Society Salon, your negligence and lack of professionalism have left a lasting impact on my hair and my confidence. I've never written a review before, but I feel compelled to share my experience for anyone considering SocietoSalon, especially with Heather. Unfortunately, I had a deeply disappointing experience--not just once, but twice. Both times I had an appointment with Heather, I was left waiting over 30 minutes past my scheduled time while she finished with her previous client. She never personally checked in with me; instead, another stylist came over to explain. The real issue, however, was the haircut. I told Heather I was not comfortable with shoulder-length hair and preferred it to fall just above the collarbone. When she finished, my hair was well above my shoulders. It was not only much shorter than I agreed to, but the cut itself was uneven and choppy--completely unflattering. I've never felt so self-conscious about a haircut before, and I'm now looking into extensions to fix it, which I've never needed until now. When I reached out to express how unhappy I was, her only response was, "We can go over options at your next appointment"--which isn't for another two months. I wish I could give zero stars. I don't like calling out a specific person, but I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what I did. read more

I had my hair highlighted by Jessica twice and and am not happy with the outcome of the last time. The first time I was going from brown to a subtle balayage. She did a great time making it blended and the change was subtle so we agreed that the next session we would add more highlights. During my first session she did take a very long time to the point that her next appointment came in and she was rushing the end of my appointment. The next time I came in she was going to add more highlights and tone it as it had become brassy and way too light. This is where it all went wrong... I didn't notice it until I got home as I think the lighting in the salon does not show the true nature of the color but I somehow ended with very streaky highlights and blonder!! I would of said something if I had noticed it at the salon. She also took a very long time this time around again and her next appointment ended up showing up. I am very dissatisfied with the result and disappointed that I paid a fair amount of money for. First time here and really disappointed in my hairstyle experience. I needed to find a place to get my hair done for my best friend's wedding. Since I'm not from AZ I found this salon on Yelp. 2 weeks before my hair appointment: I made the appointment over the phone and spoke to the receptionist. I asked if they were available for the day of my event and if they could do "glamour waves" or "Hollywood waves or "S Waves". I wasn't sure what that style was officially called. She confirmed that she knew which hairstyle I was talking about and assured me they could do it. She told me my hairstylist would be Angela, it would be $55 for a blow dry and that style, and that they could get me in at 8am. I told them I needed to be finished no later than 9:30am for bridal party photos and she checked with the hairstylist and confirmed they can make it work. I said okay sounds great. Thursday: Two days before the wedding day & my appointment: I get confirmation texts asking me to confirm the day before. I confirm that I am going to the appointment. Friday: 13 hours before my appointment: I was at the rehearsal dinner and I get a text message at 6:30pm saying that Angela is feeling unwell and that they will call me in the morning to reschedule. Obviously, if you're sick that's understandable, but I didn't like that they weren't going to find the solution and they were going to make me wait to find out if someone can maybe do my hair the next morning on the day of my event. It was unnecessary stressful. I texted them back if they can find someone else who can do my hair that morning. They said how about Raul at 9am. I said I need to be done by 9:30am and that wouldn't work. They finally get the co-owner Caleb to come in but he can't be there until 8:20am and they reassured me I would be done by 9:30am. I tell them, okay I will see them at 8:20 feeling really unsure if this was a mistake or not. Saturday: 8:20am day of the wedding and hair appointment: I get there a few minutes early and check in. I remind them again that I'm in a time crunch and I have to be out no later than 9:30am. The salon inside is nice and clean and there's a few people getting their hair done inside. They wash my hair (honestly loved and needed that nice head massage they do while they wash your hair) and then got seated at Caleb's chair. He asked me what I wanted to do for today and I showed him. He was concerned that we might not have enough time for this hairstyle. This is when I found out that the receptionist only booked me for a blow dry appointment because now Caleb is kindly explaining to me that I didn't book the correct hair service. I told him I had a whole conversation about the hairstyle I wanted with the receptionist. So it was the receptionist who didn't put me down for the blow dry and style service and she quoted me for $55. It turned out to be $75 and I still tipped $10 to Caleb because although it wasn't exactly what I wanted he still managed to get a nice wave hairstyle for me. 9:45am is when my hair appointment was finished and I had to rush out of there. All in all, I'm just annoyed that this experience turned into a really stressful morning for me when it really didn't have to be. We all make mistakes, but I just didn't like how I had to come up with these solutions to the problems. Plus, I didn't get the hairstyle I wanted and paid more than what I was first quoted. I had looked into booking an appointment with this salon online, but decided to walk in and speak with someone before committing to giving my cc info to book. As I walked in, there were two employees outside jiggling keys in the door. I walked right passed them to an empty reception desk. I looked around for someone else to notice that someone had walked in, and decided to just wait by the reception desk for someone to come by. The employees outside jiggled the key in the door, I'm not joking for maybe 10 or 15 minutes after seeing me walk in and saw me standing at the reception desk waiting for help. The front door they were messing with faces the reception desk inside. I waited patiently because it looked like they were maybe trying to fix the door or something. I wasn't acknowledged at all, or told it would be a minute before someone would help me. They finally came in, and one employee asked if I mind while he closed a door. I told him I didn't mind as he continued going through training info with the other employee. I figured maybe since they had come inside and saw I was obviously waiting for a while at this point that I would be helped soon. They continued to walk away and were gone for another 10ish minutes in the back. At this point I had been waiting at reception for like 20 minutes with one acknowledgment of "do you mind?" as they continued to mess with the security system. They finally came back round to the front, and again didn't look at me, apologize for the wait, or let me know that someone would help me. I really don't mind waiting a minute if you're training someone. But isn't there a point that you would acknowledge someone who walked in or at least let them know they don't have time to speak to a walk-in? After they came back to the reception desk and continued to turn their backs to me, I just walked out. As I was driving away they went back to jiggling keys in the door. I work in the service industry, and if anyone had walked into my shop and was looked past like that, I would be extremely embarrassed as a business professional. EDIT: after messaging with the owner, he tried to tell me the two who obviously ignored me were "cleaning people" and not employees of the salon. They 100% were not cleaners, and the male worker is literally on the website and Instagram. I was going to delete this review, but Society Salon decided to find my Instagram and block my account. Absolutely unwarranted petty business practices. I'm happy I didn't spend my money here. This whole experience was hilarious. Ignored, lied to, and blocked. Nice attempt to save face. read more

Angela is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!! She has transformed my hair MANY times with different cuts and colors throughout the 10 years I have been seeing her. I'm a "trendy" (lol) person and my hair has to be a perfect part of my aesthetic always. I change it regularly and she always goes beyond my expectations. I am forever grateful of her vast skill set, kindness, and all the free drinks I have gotte at the Scottsdale bars because of people talking to me about how cute my hair is :) She has also fixed my bangs a few times from when I was bold enough to try to cut them on my own. So I came here for a blowout party with 10 girlfriends. I had Logan do my blowout and she was very pleasant and sweet! She had me do a sweet pea & pepper mint conditioning treatment since my hair was just a bit dry from my Yucatan Vacation! The salon itself I felt lacked a bit of realistic scheduling when it came to timing blowouts. I typically get blowouts done within 30 minutes each of our blowouts here took at least 45 minutes Myself personally I was not thrilled with this scent as I walked into the salon. I would recommend freshening it up by opening the doors and maybe getting a candle.
