If you're craving authentic Texas-style barbecue, look no further than this charming little farming…read morecommunity just off Highway 101 in Sebastopol. It's worth every minute of the drive from anywhere in the mid-Bay Area and beyond. And if you're already headed to wine country, do yourself a favor and make the stop. I had the brisket while my wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and both were outstanding. The brisket had a beautiful bark and was so tender it practically fell apart with a fork. It delivered exactly what great Texas barbecue should: plenty of smoke flavor with nothing more than a traditional salt-and-pepper seasoning. No barbecue sauce needed--and that's exactly how I like it. The apple slaw was crisp, light, and refreshing, providing the perfect contrast to the rich meat. My wife chose the cornbread, drizzled with honey and served with honey butter, and it was absolutely over-the-top delicious. To top it all off, the wonderful young woman working the counter surprised us with a complimentary banana pudding after hearing about the drive we'd made just to eat there. It was such a thoughtful gesture and perfectly reflected the hospitality of the place. You can tell there's a tremendous amount of passion and pride going into every aspect of the food and service here. If you're nearby, treat yourself. If you're not, and you're a true barbecue enthusiast, make the trip. It's absolutely worth the journey.

The food was amazing! We came here before heading to the Doran beach for the day. Everything was…read moreamazing. We got pork ribs, pulled pork, two types of links and sides- Mac and cheese, collard greens, and baked beans. Plus corn bread and for dessert the banana pudding. The cons were few and even though I'd list these as a con everything was still amazing - the greens were a little salty but when I ate them with some beans or the Mac and cheese the flavor balanced out. On their own just a tiny bit too salty. The cornbread was a tad too dry. The pros were basically EVERYTHING else. And the surprise treat of banana pudding made everyone's eyes go BIG a tasting the amazing flavor and lovely consistency of the pudding. Definitely save room for dessert!!! I have to admit though - BBQ and sides are very subjective if you have a great BBQ boss/ soul food chef in your family... truly everything on our table was AMAZING. The restaurant was homey, clean and inviting with picnic tables and lots of napkins within reach. Even though it was lunchtime on a weekend we had fast and friendly service and we didn't need to wait long for our food. We can't wait to come back!!!

It's the perfect combination of refreshing and spicy, and they use the dark sauce (salsa negra) which is my favorite style. The quesadillas from Victoria are next level and are big enough for two to share. I recently enjoyed tacos from Lucha Subina and they were delicious. The tortillas were super fresh and the meat was perfectly grilled. I love that many of the trucks here use handmade tortillas. They often have music playing, and the bar has some excellent drinks as well. There's also a dessert truck (Churroteka) where you can purchase churro to finish off your delicious meal.

The five of us ventured out to find Mitote Food Park. We had heard it had moved from its original…read morespot but it was still located on Sebastopol Road. It is easy to find and they have a parking lot which was convenient. As we entered the area we could see many food trucks parked near each other, sort of in a circle. There is also a large canopy over the entire middle with lots of picnic tables and additional seating under patio umbrellas. Music was playing but we found only three trucks open and serving lunch on this Wed. I saw a churro truck but sadly it was closed too. We visited all three trucks to check out their menus and I decided to order a quesadilla at Lucha Sabina. Some people near us were enjoying something called a Tlayuda from this same truck and it looked amazing! I will have to give that a try next time with my husband because it is big enough to serve two. I had heard that the mushroom tacos were delicious so I asked if they could make a mushroom quesadilla and she said yes. She mentioned avocado would make it extra tasty so of course I added it. I'm so glad she offered that up because it was a key ingredient in my yummy quesadilla. It was grilled perfectly and I was all smiles from the first bite. This place was a hit with all my buddies too. We liked that they gave us each a beeper so we could sit down and chat until our food was ready. My friends all enjoyed their selections but none of us tried anything exotic, just tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. People working were very personable and helpful. We'll have to come back during dinner hour as I'm sure there will be more food trucks warming up their grills to satisfy everyone's cravings.
