I have used this service a couple of times now. Both times Robbyn and the dog walkers (Marsha and Ashley) have been amazing! Prices are very reasonable so I have gotten both 45 minute walks and 30 minute walks. My dog is a 6lb pom-chi mix. He has lots of anxiety and gets depressed whenever we have to leave him for extended periods. The first time we used this service, we left him with my brother and went on a trip out of state. Normally, he doesn't eat or poop when we leave him like this for a few days. However, he absolutely loved his walks with Ashley and my brother told us he ate and had a regular bathroom schedule! We got daily reports from Ashley and pictures with detailed information on if she gave him treats and his activities/pace during the walk. It was heartwarming to see our little guy being cared for while we were away. Because this was so great, we used the service again when I had to travel out of town. My husband was home but had to work really long hours so we had Marsha take Rockie for his afternoon/evening walks. Again, we got detailed reports and our little guy was very happy (evidenced by his regular eating and bathroom schedule). We also have a doorbell camera that automatically took a couple of 20 second videos and seeing how kind and caring Marsha was with our baby really put the icing on the cake! We have never trusted anyone besides family with our little guy before we found Run My Dog!! They are the best, they genuinely care about our pets! The wonderful folks at Run My Dog have been walking our sweet Australian Shepherd Ushi for close to a year now--there's not a thing I could complain about even if I wanted to. Service is reliable, communication is stellar, scheduling is a breeze, and the walkers are absolutely incredible. I leave home every day knowing our fur baby is in great hands. As all dog parents know, trusting others to take care of your dog without you there can be a worrisome experience. Having had poor experiences with other dog walkers in the past, I was extra nervous about starting over and finding someone new. I could tell right away during our first home visit together that this company has their values and priorities in the right place, and that they share my love (and concern) for my dog's well-being. They asked all the right questions - not just how long to walk him, but about his behaviors, triggers, history, health, likes, dislikes, his routine, everything. It was such a relief to feel like FINALLY, a company that I can trust. We've been with them for six months and I have not one single complaint. They are very communicative, and call whenever they notice something slightly off with our dog, or when he eats a tube of my chapstik (which, apparently, is more than twice!). My husband and I have been using Run My Dog for approximately 6 months. Working with Robbyn (the owner) and Jensine (our wonderful walker) has been a joy. Jensine is great and I'd highly recommend her. We can tell she really loves our pups (a large rambunctious lab puppy and a smaller, quieter poodle-mix) and she has done a great job teaching our puppy to walk on a leash. I really can't say enough about Jensine. We recently changed our frequency of walks because my husband is home earlier than we expected and we waited about a month to decrease because we knew our dogs would miss Jensine!! I'll mention that I had a ton of trouble getting responses from dog walkers in the Alexandria area and Robbyn was quick and easy to get on the phone. Set-up of service, payment, and service itself is painless and smooth, which is really positive. I didn't realize how hard it would be to find a reasonably priced dog walker. In the two weeks before I got my puppy, I basically struck out on 4 dog walkers/services before I stumbled across Run My Dog and their amazing Yelp Reviews. While it did take 48 hours for them to email me back, I was so relieved to have found someone available who serviced my area, I just went with them and it's worked out great. I was also impressed with their staffing practices and thorough background checks (it's always a little nerve wracking leaving sets of house keys with strangers.) I had them come twice a day for 4 months starting 2 days after I got my 8-week-old puppy through her being 6 months old. I've just switched down to a single walk a day. While you generally sign up for walks in certain time blocks (11-1), they do try, if you have a puppy, to come at approximately the same time for a while to help with housebreaking. You do not always have the same dog walker, but instead get a couple different primary walkers who are responsible for your dog. This was not really an issue for me as I valued the extra socialization for my puppy with different people. I signed up for their 5-day package (and doubled it), which is the best rate you're going to get around here for a 20 minute walk. They've been awesome. While crate training, if they saw she'd wet her fleece, they'd replace it with one from the stack of dry ones I've left. The dog walking report portal is great. You can see any notes from the walk, the GPS walk track that they did, and sometimes they include photos. Plus, it's now easy to pay your invoices from the app. I'd definitely recommend them. read more

I had to change dog walkers once I moved to Alexandria and I was so happy to have found Run My Dog. They do a great job and the cool thing is, a standard walk is approx. 1 mile each time. They are focused on making sure your dog gets a good walk in before having to go back home. They also include a map of the walk with their daily email that gives info about how the walk went. My elderly parents desperately needed someone to take their standard poodle out for a run every other day to tire him out. He was not yet 3-yrs old and had lots of energy to expel. I should start off by saying that I had a friend recommend Robbyn to me when I needed a dog walker for my 15 year old Cairn Terrier. This is important because A) I've seen my fair share of dog walkers and B) My dog did not need to be 'run'. So starting with my second point, Run My Dog is great even if your dog does not need to be run. They did an exceptional job with just walking my geriatric terrier. And back to my first point, I've used countless dog walkers over my dog's lifetime and none have made me feel as comfortable as Run My Dog. After moving back to VA from off-leash wonderland California, I wasn't sure what to expect from a dog walking service in VA - but then I met Robbyn. RunMyDog was able to provide a veritable feast of options; running with my dog and/or walking her, pet sitting etc. I hired Robbyn to run and walk my 9 year old yellow lab while I recovered from foot surgery and she was so attentive, helpful and simply wonderful with my doggy (and me!) that she is still my go-to dog person.
