The rooms were nice. The owners were very nice and helpful. The price was fabulous. We definitely would stay here again.

The recent stay was an improvement for sure! Keep in mind that this is a budget motel, not a hotel, there are no amenities, no breakfast. Just a clean room, a quiet stay, a decent bed, at a decent price. *Bring your own hairdryer or ask the front desk for a loaner. The rate on Expedia was much better than booking direct with the motel which is a little odd. The room itself was a step up from the last visit due to it being "pet friendly" (+$15/night); laminate flooring instead of nasty carpet *yay* The beds were comfortable enough. The sheets and towels were clean. Heater worked fine. Water is nice and hot. The "smart TV" was broken and we had to have the manager come to our room and give us a different remote; one that works with google TV. He said this is an ongoing problem that is caused by guests attaching an HDMI cable to the TV *good to know*. Expedia has better pricing than their own website: $54 for the room (double queens) + $15 for the pet per night. The ice machine was working. No amenities. Short drive to OIT and walking distance to the Amtrak Train Station. read more

NEVER EVER STAY at this hotel!!! I had a funny feeling about them when I made my initial reservation, the clerk was hard to understand and I never got a confirmation email for the room. I called back 6 days prior to checking in to CANCEL my reservation, once again I never got an email regarding the cancellation and THEY CHARGED MY CARD anyways as a no show. Complete B.S!!! The manager talked over me when I asked why they did that, was rude and didn't offer any sort of apology or anything. A big reason I didn't stay here was because I had visions of bed bugs crawling on me because I DID NOT get a good vibe from this place upon first contact. Stayed here twice. First time was okay, but noticed i had a headache for the next couple days. After the second stay the same thing... not sure if related, but seems could be connected. Inner curtains torn. But quiet, clean, and cheap. pillows need to be replaced! Will be staying somewhere else next time. read more

Been here many times and never a bad experience. Downfalls do include no secondary lock inside the doors, 60 channel type of tvs, (no input button) and the vending machine always not working lol. But pizza across the street is great and a nice room for a great price I can't complain too much. read more

They charged me $150 after I told them all the things that were wrong with my room!! Hair in the tub and toilet, missing comforter, pee on the toilet, sticky fridge, broken curtain. Okay look, I knew we weren't getting the Four Seasons here...not even close. But this visit was doomed from the get go and it could have easily been so much better with a few changes. We arrived and received our key and opened the door to a room that was occupied by someone. Their personal items were everywhere, but luckily they were out...so we avoided serious embarrassment. Shocked we went to the front desk and the lady (Who is super nice, btw) was positive nobody was in the room...but we assured her there was and she gave us another room number. Upon entering we found slight stains on the bed covers, hair in the bathtub and grubby towels folded up. No shower for us tonight. Also...there is no bolt on the front door so it's impossible to keep another guest from entering our room while we sleep tonight. The walls are also fairly thin so we can hear conversations in the room beside AND above us. Yes...we plan to sleep here (it's way too late to find another hotel and we have to leave super early tomorrow). I'll let you know if we survive the night. 1. Clean your rooms 2. Make sure they are empty. 3. Put a bolt on the doors. 4. Keep that front desk lady...she is great. 5. I have stayed here a couple times during short work trips, and while I do agree that they're doing a good job keeping the place more polished looking, they are still quite dirty. The sheets in my room were pretty badly stained, and worse yet, I saw two cockroaches in my room last night. I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and I saw one run under the nightstand when the light went on, and in the bathroom another one was next to the tub (photo attached). Because it was 4am I did not call the front desk, just tried (unsuccessfully) to go back to sleep. In the morning I let the front desk woman know who simply said "okay" and offered no explanation or solution while I checked out. This will be my last stay here which is unfortunate because it's a great location for the price. read more

I debated leaving this review because I used to love this motel, but as a woman traveling alone, I would not recommend this place to others. Aside from the generally bad vibe, the place was filthy. The carpets were so gross I didn't want to be barefoot on them and there was dog kibble everywhere. The coverlet had a dried white stain, the surfaces were sticky, and the mattress was rock hard. This place used to be amazing with a classic motor hotel aesthetic and value. It was a highlight of my trip to stay here. I will think fondly of what the Maverick used to be, but I can spend $20 more at a chain hotel that is clean, safe, and comfortable. It was nice knowing you, Maverick. read more

Checked in to find out room had double beds. We had booked queen. Asked about it and the receptionist said using air quotes that's our "queen" bed I'm not going to measure it. If you want to upgrade to King I'll have to charge you.... Also booking.com (the hotels write what's included) says there is bottled water, coffee, and snacks included. If I knew this hotel wasn't as advertised and somehow really highly rated on booking I would have chosen our other choice that had a pool. read more

Based on the reviews, I booked a room through booking.com. To arrive at 9:00pm. 2 hours later I'm I'm informed that Amtrak is going to be 5 hours late. So I called the hotel to cancel. They said don't cancel, it's ok if you arrive at 2:00am. We have someone here. So I show up at the hotel, no one there. Except a buzzer button. 10 minutes of pushing the button on and off, and an angry woman shows up. I was given a second story room. I booked a first floor. Just know this place has not been cleaned in a very long time. From what I can tell they make the bed and put in new towels. (Stained towels) Do yourself a favor, spend a little more elsewhere. If you do stay here, DO NOT PRESS THAT BUTTON. read more

Here you pretty much get what you pay for. Can't go wrong with the price as it was very affordable and staff at front desk was nice but the rooms were not clean. When we got into the room, there was crumbs (dog kibble and cereal) on the floor, the bed had dog hair on it and the towels also had hair on them. We went to the front desk to ask if we could get our sheets changed and she gave us another room which was nice and accommodating, however the next room also had crumbs on the floor and hair on the beds. Hate to say it but it stunk in our room, upside down crosses drawn on the ceilings above our beds, i'll just attach the photos we covered this little thing above the TV with a trash bin cuz we weren't sure what it is, probably nothing but the remotes all still worked once we covered it. We complained about the smell on day 1, but then on the last day of our stay they attempted to charge us over 200$ for a smell in the room that we reported on day1. luckily the charge didn't go thru once i explained to the manager that i did report that same smell first thing to avoid such issues lol. read more

Stayed here again while driving through Klamath falls. Is been updated allot since our last stay. The exterior has been painted and refreshed, new flooring in the rooms, new tv's, bathrooms refreshed and updated. It's perfect if you're just looking for a place to sleep for the night. The room was very clean!! No more jokers in the parking lot. It's family owned and operated which I always try to support, the check in process was easy and friendly. I took one star off for the 8:30 knock at the door by housekeeping. There's got to be a better way to check if a guest has left. read more

The amount of bugs was crazy. Every time we tried to open the door after dusk a flood of knats came in. There was dead knats on the beds as well on check in. When we asked if there was spray or anything that could be done we were told to shut off all the lights before opening the door (which did not work). The shower was a great height and the water was hot, the toilet did move quite a bit and hit the wall every time you got up. Washer did not seem to be working properly but $2 a load was very reasonable. There were a few people wandering around the parking lot that made it feel a bit unsafe, but the main problem was all the bugs flying in and around the rooms. read more

We paid in advance using Expedia. The day of check-in we received a call around 10am asking us what time we would get there. Cell service was not strong and we were finally able to call back round 2pm. Told them we didn't know what time we would arrive and the woman sounded annoyed. At check-in (around 6:30pm) the woman was prompt at the window but barely spoke to me. While I was waiting for her to get us checked in I read all of the papers taped to the window: the fly situation and how to get into the room with minimal exposure, no breakfast service due to Covid, where to put the key at check-out, etc. glad I took the time because she didn't tell me about any of that. The room is *very* small. A bath towel and a washcloth both appeared to have blood stains. The refrigerator was functional but the "freezer" was not. The bathroom looked like they'd attempted a refresh that fell short and there was what appeared to be crayon art on the wall (like someone scribbled on the wall with a blue crayon). The A/C felt more like it was bringing in air from outside rather than a/c air. And the sign at the checkin window was right...the little flies are plentiful. The linens appeared to be new. The carpet appeared to be newer. Our car was parked safely in the parking lot just outside our first floor window. The brewery next door looked lovely, unfortunately we chose to eat elsewhere. I don't know if it was staff eager for us to be on our way, or a rando motel guest, but there was a vigorous knock on our door at 845am. Glad we were already up and plotting our escape. I would not choose to stay at The Maverick Motel again, and quite possibly would avoid Klamath Falls altogether in the future. read more

You get what you pay for. Probably wouldn't stay again. Dust bunny's in corners, stained walls and furniture. Pistachio shells dropped in the AC grates. Fairly dirty room. I stayed the night. Heater doesn't seem to work. Took a shower in the morning. When I came out, a maid just walked into my room, even though the maid cleaning sign was not on, she laughed, and then the guy on front desk duty said there was nothing he can do about it, that he can't leave, even though he had just left to check with her. then he claims he told her not to, which i assume she would have learned day one, but then he starts smiling like its hilarious that she walked in on me and laughed. then acted like I was unreasonable for being angry when if i was a woman you know good and well they would have bent over backwards to apologize. but since I'm just a guy its totally great for hotel staff to break in without warning and laugh at my nudity. EDIT: the manager immediately said she'd refund me but 'think its best i check out'. I said i wont check out unless they're kicking me out, then she threatened to call the cops if I Did not sign the refund receipt, for being kicked out, because they keep insisting that its totally okay to walk in on a guy naked and laugh, even though you know they'd have had the entire motel sued if I was a woman. Maids a liar. Morning manager knows nothing, and the head manager lies right to your face and then threatens to call the cops after you're the one whose been harassed. read more

I travel a lot as a crew member and this hotel is awful! We had to change rooms upon arrival due to stained sheets . Do not take off your shoes the carpet is filthy and holes in the walls chipped paint. We thought it sounded cute and the pictures looked nice. The towels are so thin and tiny! Do Not stay here! Great example of budget hotel done right. Nothing fancy but clean rooms with nice beds. Rooms had fridge and microwave for your convenience. Restrooms were small but tidy. Air and Tv in great condition. I definitely would stay here again! Located in a hot spot! Next door to a local brewery and across the street from a popular pizza place you will have great choices to eat. Street noise can be heard but wasn't a bother. Washer and dryer on ground floor. $2 per load. Coffee available but no breakfast -- but hey, you saved a bunch of $ on the room so not a problem to buy a real breakfast. Highly recommend driving through the downtown in the morning to see the old beautiful buildings. Try breakfast at the Waffle Hut. It was wonderful. Front desk clerk has many printed directions for things like grocery stores and Walmart. read more

When we were planning this mini road trip we decided we would stay in Klamath Falls for the night. My friend Rich did some research and found the Maverick Motel. The rates were good for one night ($60 for a room with 2 queen beds) so he booked it. Certainly was a pleasant enough experience. The Maverick sits at the northeastern part of town. Right next to the brewery which was not a bad thing. Not that anything is very far away in a town like this. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the price was very reasonable. Reasonable price. Showed up, wired from driving all day. When I got to the room I was pleasantly surprised that it was as clean as it was, especially nowadays. Stayed here for 4 nights. it was warm, clean and the bed was super comfortable. The room had a micro, a fridge,ironing board, iron and coffee maker, plus a hair dryer. There is a continental breakfast which I did not partake in. My only tiny complaint would be no soap dish in the shower or hand hold. It is good value for the money.
