Staff is very friendly. I wonder if it's a family owned business. I was little worried afer reading yelp reviews. I thought I would give them a chance. I was glad I gave them a chance. They took us on a bus and explained where to get off. there was someone waiting for us. they told us to get off before the bridge. walk across and get back on. I was so glad they told us. A kayacker was flipped over trying to go under the bridge. trip lasted about one and half hour. lazy slow moving with mixture of little rapids. We Had lots of fun drifting on the provo river. beautiful sunny day. They are not your typical corporate uniformed company. you can feel the family run warm touches. Followed the emailed directions right to the trailer. Everything was easy and fun. I noticed some other reviews said they missed the take out, but if you don't listen when they point it out on the drive up, that's your own fault, their guy was standing there helping people too which was nice. I just had a Family Reunion at Deer Creek Reservoir, We don't know the area and planning was limited and spur of the moment. Groupon gave us 40% off so it came out to $25 a person($75 with a guide per person).. we brought 11 adults and 1-11 year old boy. So we bought and were texted directions as if we were coming from Provo not Heber, which made zero sense, not to mention we passed the only 2 other rafting companies with HIGHLY VISIBLE ADVERTISING, ROR had us meet in the frontage road parking lot. (Should have been first red flag), they were late(another red flag), and short staffed( yep red flag).. After putting on life vests that didn't fit half our group, they were ripped, torn and not safe.. but the straps clicked together.. We had to help load the trailer, jump in a cargo van and drive up 4 miles to the drop off, pointing out landmarks so we know where we had to get too( be prepared to carry your raft down a short vertical cut out on the side of the river.) Oh, split up your crew if you take 2 rafts. You need 2 strong paddlers per boat or 1 as the steer.. also tell who to paddle, when to paddle by first name, it will make things easier... and save your energy when just floating... your going to need it when you have to get to the first stop... and the last stop as you literally have one shot to stop the raft or you miss your stop... let alone carry the raft up a small trail that's not easy to climb... while the 2 other companies have wide open controlled launches and landings.. Pretty much like below.. a quick 5 min save your life intro.. see you at the bottom.. after 15 cuts and scrapes, life vest caught the dead tree branches, don't sit on the boat, slide into the wells of the raft until you pass then sit back up. I wanted to float the Provo River !I needed a good guide. A good company, some beautiful weather, a two person inflatable kayak,as well as a four person inflatable River raft !!! They had every thing that I needed. I had an excellent family fun time... traveling down the Provo River and had some good and exciting rapids to go down! Next time I go I will do adrenaline Allie that has consistent three and four category rapids that continue into wave trains about 100 to 200 yards long at one time. The staff when I arrived was very professional ,polite and concerned for my needs. They gave an excellent ,very detailed and useful safety briefing!!They told me where I would get in the river,as well as the obstacles along the way I would need to avoid to stay safe,what to do in case I fell off or out of my raft or kayak... I would use them again and again!! The so-called high country adventures company treated me like cattle crammed me into a bus with 45 other people stuffed a tube in my face pointed me to the river and said I'll see you at the bottom! I would give them zero stars if I could.... let's start off with they said they would email us directions...they texted us vague direction 6 mins before we were supposed to meet! Nothing is marked on the way there like other companies so it was a huge guessing game the entire way there. They shuttle you to the drop off zone which they cram more people than seats and leave you in the car with no air while they figure out where they left their brains. The driving was terrible and all over the place, I was scared. So disorganized when we got to the drop off zone they left us in the 105 degree weather so they could go get our tubes and rafts...15 mins later they show up with tubes and rafts but not the correct floats for the correct groups! They vaguely gave you instruction on when to get out and where. When we reached the pick up zone it's in this fast moving part of the river that they expect you to paddle over to them (we were in tubes not rafts and they didn't provide you with paddles for tubes like we saw other companies) then we stand there until the whole group reaches the pick up zone. They only had one shuttle waiting there even tho we had two shuttles full dropped off. So we waited,yet again, 45 mins dripping wet on the side of the road in the 105 degree weather! We were told the whole excursion takes 2 hours....yes we accounted for SOME time constraints but we were gone for 4 hours...so we had to rush home to let our babysitter go home... overall my husband and I had an awesome time floating the river but when you pay someone 40$ to shuttle you in and out and tote the tubes for you and they can't even do that it was a total waste of money. I wish I would have read the other review before booking our tubing/kayaking rental with River Runoff. We also had a thoroughly unprofessional experience, beginning when we never received our confirmation email with directions to the shuttle location. We spent a full hour trying to find them, until someone finally answered the phone to give us directions. Had I not prepaid, we would have gone with another company at that point. After we arrived and no apology was made, we were requested to help load the tubes and kayaks into the trailer (we were asked to help with loading and unloading, which I mistakingly thought we were paying them for). We were given quick instructions on how to navigate the river and where to get out), asked to inflate the gear and launch it, and then we set off on our journey. The tubes are nearly impossible to steer and I soon found myself in a woody thicket, which completely knocked me off my tube as it sailed through. In the mayhem, I was able to recover the tube but it's cover floated on and I never saw it again. When I let the returning driver know what had happened, he was upset I had lost the cover (they have their company info printed on them, and apparently cost $30 to replace). He said, "To be honest, I wish you had lost the tube instead." I told him I was personally very glad I hadn't lost my tube, because it had already been a pretty scary experience and at least I still had something to float down on. He then said that was why they'd had me sign the paperwork beforehand, and they'd be charging me for the cover. Then he asked my husband and kids to load everything back onto his trailer, and proceeded to beg for tips all the way back to our car. I wish we had booked with High Country Adventures; they're easy to find, professionals (i.e., they load their own crap), and actually cost less. Edited to add: the only 5-Star review for this business was left by its co-owner. The guy who yelled at me for losing his cover, then begged for tips. read more

Avoid this company -- there are much better, more professional operations for tubing on the Provo River. I honestly can not think of a way Runoff River Adventures could have been less professional. We went tubing my 13yo son and his friend. I called RRA in advance and they gave me poor directions to the meeting point. When we finally found them (after searching every parking lot) they barely gave any sort of safety briefing. They just drove us 5 miles up the river, casually mentioning where we should put-out, gave us our tubes and left. We had a decent time on the river, but when we came to the pull-out point the area that had been selected had no sign or markings of any kind, was in very fast moving water and on a blind corner making it very difficult to see in advance. Fortunately I was able to make contact with the two boys, they held on to my tube and I was barely able to pull-in. Had they not latched on to me, they would have sailed right on by. The other families that were launched into the river with us were in rafts -- they had no chance of stopping and we watched helplessly as they rafted by. Then, we sat at the pull-out point for an HOUR (maybe more) in 96 degree heat waiting for a pick-up. Later that night I received an email from the operator apologizing, offering some lame excuses, and offering me a free trip in the future. My instant reaction -- NO WAY -- I wouldn't use them again even for free! Unfortunately this was our one and only opportunity to tube on the Provo River and Runoff River spoiled it for us. p.s. When we were trying to find RRA I stopped in at High Country Adventures and asked for directions. In contrast, they seemed like a legit, professional, operation. read more

My daughter and I went on an afternoon river rafting trip down upper and lower Provo River. It was a fantastic trip. We got to do Adrenaline Alley which is full of rapids and fast moving water. Our guide, Rob, was professional and knew what he was doing. We had so much fun taking in the nature and beauty of Provo Canyon on the River. I really liked this company and how they treated us and their ability to serve the needs of the customer. For me this was a day well spent with my daughter enjoying the great outdoors. Great, friendly staff and beautiful scenery. Our guide ended up giving my fiancé and I a huge discount of $90. The rapids are the best I've had the pleasure of rafting. I'd recommend this company for all you adrenaline junkies out there. read more
