Lyle Park - Great structure for the very littles!

This seems like one of the better playgrounds in the area for younger children. The there is a…read morelarge tot structure that mirrors the structure for older kids, bucket swings, and a sandbox; plus, the fence runs along a large field that is popular with dog owners, so there are bouncy dogs chasing balls to entertain the littles.

Not sure why this place gets a 3.5 because it is a really cute park, and we had a wonderful time…read morehere. We were here for a friend's child's birthday picnic. Pros: It's tranquil and peaceful! Can't say that about most of the parks near my place anymore. If you're looking for a quiet afternoon, this is a great spot. Fully fenced in play area. I have a toddler who just learned to run and she runs fast. 'Nough said. 2 relatively clean looking, well-maintained play structures -- one that is shorter with easier items to conquer and for my 20 month old, she's able to get a lot of mileage. The other is pretty standard size / fare for older kids. Sand play area, with some shovels & things lying around. Infant swings in addition to normal swings. Good combo of tree shade and sunny spots! The cleanest and most bougie gender-free bathrooms I've ever seen for a public park!! Spotless, automatic toilet, automatic sink, a Dyson airblade... where AM I and what planet am i on!? Yes, there is also a family bathroom with changing table. Cons: Not a whole lot of parking in the small lot, and otherwise I think you have to park side of street but unsure if there might be restrictions. Bordered by residential streets on almost all sides and it is not fully fenced. Watch out for children wandering out. Few picnic tables and you can't book, so chance it if you're organizing an event here. The soccer field takes up the majority of the park, and if there's a game on, it seems mostly overtaken by very serious looking parents, lol.

But what is really impressive is the fact that Coach trains her hard, yet fun, and after every session I ask my daughter what do you think? And she always says, I love it. Coach Mel is nice as can be and they all, the coaches, have impeccable resumes. It is by far, the best money I've ever spent on something like this. In the past I have wasted money on certain programs for my kids. And I mean wasted because the programs were just awful. Disorganized, dangerous even. Time and money I'll never get back. Torch is worth every minute, every penny.

Coach Mel and Drea (Andrea) are amazing as coaches. At Torch there is emphasis on skill development of ball handling and shooting , basketball IQ, team work , integrity and hard work, not just winning. I believe it is because of that girls in the Torch team are such a wonderful role models. My daughter has evolved from a girl who enjoyed basket ball and good at it , to some one who truly loves it and hoping to play for college. Her growth as a basketball player ever since she started at Torch truly has been wonderful to watch. We drive from Saratoga to Atherton year round after school to be part of Torch and have not regretted it once .
