Their wellness plan is very competitive to other offices! Just seeing the amount of savings I've had over the last year in having the wellness plan is insane!! Staff is amazing, they greet and remember a lot about their patients. They truly go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. Also, they've got TV's in each room! It's ironic reading all of other reviews & how pretty much everybody else had to have their teeth worked on whether it was a filling or a root canal or a crown...It makes me feel kind of suspicious and question this Doctor's motives. Now that I think of it, my old coworker, Ryan C., had to have his teeth drilled and filled. That should have been my first warning! I remember the first appointment where a hygienist showed on the computer screen a close up of my sealants (my teeth have natural grooves in the center that is concave, need to be sealed to prevent cavities), stained from drinking tea, coffee, eating food, daily wear and tear etc. I opted out of their suggestion to get my teeth drilled and took my business elsewhere. I was going back home to Tallahassee and visited my original dentist that put in old sealants and she redid them, at a very reasonable price & small out of pocket with insurance. I would've liked the option to replace the sealants or to get my tooth filled, but I don't like being pushed into a corner with no options and that's what it felt like at this office. The most ridiculous suggestion Dr. Ruppel made...correction, he never examined my teeth, just went off of X-rays and hygienist. He said I needed a crown...I was surprised. I'm really good about flossing and brushing my teeth and I understand getting a cavity here and there, but getting a crown felt too extreme to me. The reasoning behind it was because I had a previous filling and a new baby cavity on the same tooth and he would not be able to drill in that sensitive area...um, lies! I didn't trust his first diagnosis when I went for my dental cleaning and sure as heck wouldn't second time around after he'd lost my trust, so I followed my gut after a quote of $638 out of pocket with insurance covering $478 and never went back! Luckily, I found a trustworthy dentist in Carrollwood, very resonablely priced with insurance and brownie points for being a Gator alumni. She took new X-rays and said it'd be an easy fix. I can say her work is holding up great and barely any pain from drilling out the cavity and filling it, only cost $145 for three cavities (Guilty! I have an incredibly sweet tooth). Ruppel Dentistry is definitely overpriced, be cautious with your wallet (I call this place Whole Paycheck) and get a second option if you are hesitant! I had a significant amount of dental work done on two of my visits and I am very pleased with the experience at the office and with the work that was done. The office is in a convenient location and everyone in the office is friendly. I was greeted promptly, they kept me informed of what was going on and the Dr. saw me quickly. The office has state of the art equipment that allowed me to walk out with a new crown in only hours, instead of it taking another visit or two. They prepped the tooth, made and fitted the crown to my bite and I was out before lunch. I would definitely recommend this office (and I do) if you are looking for a new dentist. read more

If you are having a filling or other major dental work, the office does not have "laughing gas" there to help alleviate nervousness if you do not like going to the dentist. They will provide extra novocain shots or if you are a dental coward they can even write you a prescription for a medication prior to the appointment. Both of the options are a major inconvience with having to take the time to go to the pharmacy, pick-up the priscription, take the medicine, and then have someone drive you to your dental appointment. Not worth the hassle, find a different dentist if you're a dental coward. read more

I drive all the way from Orlando to have my dental work done here. As a true dentistaphobe I can attest that both the Doctors Ruppel, their oral surgeon, and their staff make my visits as pleasant and pain free as possible. I have had several root canals, wisdom teeth extraction, Zoom whitening, and even oral surgery with them, along with my routine cleanings. I could never imagine going anywhere else. They truly treat their patients with paramount care and their quality of work is superb. I have never been more satisfied with any other health care professionals, in any field, as I am with Ruppel Dentistry. My fiancé was skeptical at first but after accompanying me on many visits, even he agrees it's more than worth the 3 hour round trip drive and half tank of gas to continue being their patient. I haven't been here since 2013 but I get angry every time I drive by because of the way I was treated by the staff. This office is a scam. My husband has been a long time patient and every single time you go in they claim you need a deep cleaning. I went once and they refused to finish my cleaning the same day which means I have to take another day off work to have the second part done (no pain or complaints from me to stop either). They recommended a deep cleaning and then were pissed when I showed up and refused the deep cleaning and only wanted to finish my initial cleaning. I have been to two other dentist offices and both laughed when I told them about it as my teeth are perfectly healthy and as long as I keep up with regular cleanings nothing like that should be needed. Awesome experience. Extremely nice staff from the Front Office to the Dentist. I had cracked a existing crown, and like many people, have a very busy schedule. It was so convenient to have the old crown removed and new crown installed on the very same day.......and at a very affordable price. I will never have a crown installed the old fashioned way again; get fitted for the crown, have a temporary installed (which may or may not last) and then schedule another appointment for the final crown to be fitted and installed......extremely happy with my decision. read more

I was in serious pain all weekend from a crown that either went bad or my tooth was cracked!!! I needed help right away and called Ruppel Dentistry as soon as it opened on Monday morning (May 21, 2018) and they were able to squeeze me in right away for an examination. When I arrived the staff was super nice and empathetic- Jessica was at the front desk and offered me assistance right away... Hardly any time passed and I was led to an exam room to get some x-rays by Angela- Dr Cory Ruppel came in and went over his findings and advice- I needed to see a specialist right away and they were able to make an appointment for me to see Dr Z- Endodontist later that morning. Before leaving the office, I went to see Danielle (office manager) to go over what my insurance would cover, etc... I have NO major dental coverage which means no matter where I go, I would be paying out of pocket! Ugh! BUT- they immediately offered me the out-of-pocket cost as though I DID have major dental coverage! Who does that?!? So, I went to Dr Z's office and learned that I had a root canal that went bad - so much pain! I will share my experience at that office in a separate review... After waiting two weeks to make sure that it wasn't a cracked tooth and for me to finish the antibiotics, I scheduled my follow-up with Dr Ruppel's office and when I arrived, again was greeted warmly by Jessica and Angela led me back to the exam room. Dr Ruppel was in shortly after and examined my temp filling in my old crown, he suggested that I have a new crown put in place- I was hesitant at first, I didn't think that I needed a new crown, but I knew that this one was old... I also was not prepared to dedicate the time that morning to get a new crown... So, I asked to reschedule. Danielle went over a dental plan and reminded me that I have really old fillings that need to be redone... And one image actually showed the beginnings of a crack - which scared me! So, for my follow-up visit, I had my old crown redone, a filling behind it redone and the experience was so smooth and I had very little to no discomfort afterwards too! Very impressed given my dental history (soft teeth, bite guards, three root canals, three crowns). And the new crown is a replica of my old one- the fit was practically perfect! I brought my bite guard in and Dr Ruppel took the time to make sure that it fit over the crown and made adjustments so carefully! Angela was in the exam room to assist and she was great too- could tell that they had good communication and were considerate of my comfort level at all times. I scheduled my next visit to take care of an old filling that was threatening to crack my tooth - another necessary crown. I was due for a cleaning so I was able to get that completed in the same visit with one of their hygienists Aletha, she's awesome- efficient and thorough cleaning- good communication and thoughtful! And again, the crown was made in the office (great technology!) and Dr Ruppel was again, kind, communicative and thorough. This time "K" was working with Dr Ruppel and she was great! It has been just over a week since that last visit and I have had no issues, my bite guard fits perfectly too! I hope this review encourages others to seek Dr Ruppel- it was clear to me from the very first visit that they cared about my well-being and my wallet! Yes, it's true that I ended up paying more than expected, but they immediately honored what would have been covered by insurance and I would have had to pay full price with ANY dentist given my limited insurance coverage- I am glad that I spent my money here. I am prone to buyer's remorse, and this expense was well worth it- I am happy knowing that my teeth and health are in great care. Already scheduled my next cleaning and I will keep it! This place is awful. Absolutely awful. My husband and I's experience here, felt like a complete scam. They are a very seasoned dentist office and have tons of repeat patients so we got the feeling they were quick to jump at the opportunity to scam the "new young patients". From our very first initial visit, they changed our appointment time multiple times without our consent and then proceeded to "balance bill" us for services that we never had. When I called my dental insurance to inquire about the charges and coverage, they informed me that what was going on with my bill, was illegal and completely backwards on Ruppel's part. I called their office to inform them of this and they were very unprofessional and short with me. Eventually, after an hour on the phone, waived the charges. We decided to switch back to or previous dentist and when I called Ruppel to have our Xrays sent over, they sent the WRONG ones. Literally sent Xrays that did not belong to me. I would strongly advise to stay away from this establishment. read more

After waiting 25 minutes for Dr. Ruppel, he came in only to inform me that he was unwilling to help correct bridge work which was done by another dentist because he did not want the liability in case anything went wrong. I really needed his help, but wasn't going to get it. read more

I had been going to the office for awhile and had to have a couple crowns. After changing dentists to one that was covered under my insurance, I found out that one of the crowns had to be re-done due to an open medial contact and distal overhang. It was not covered under the insurance as it was done within the 5 year timeframe. My new dentist had to replace it as we could not wait. My new dentist suggested that I contact Ruppel as they should know what was going on and it only be right that they offer to refund or help out as the crowns were not done correctly. I contacted Ruppel with the info from the new dentist and they were not willing to refund any of my money for crowns they did incorrectly. I have to replace another one that Ruppel did on the opposite side which was seated with "door marginal integrity" which was also discussed with them and they are not willing to refund any money for that one as well. The office said the dentist was not even willing to contact the new dentist to discuss or look at the X-rays. Do yourself a favor and do not go here. They will take your money, and do a crappy job. I am now left with a one thousand dollar bill for a crown that Ruppel received insurance money for, as well as my money and another one which will need to be replaced that Ruppel did AND have to pay out of pocket for that one too! I go to Marnie Bauer and she and her staff are fantastic!!!! read more
