Great experience with Tampa Smile in South Tampa. They handled my emergency situation with such ease and care. Made an appointment online, completed all the paperwork prior to the appointment. Dr. Gray, Yolanda and Kate, the care team for my chipped tooth, were wonderful. They were all very patient, kind and professional. Dr. Gray and Yolanda were exceptional in the care they provided to fix my tooth. From check-in to check-out, the experience was friendly and thorough. I go back in three weeks for my permanent tooth replacement, and am currently considering switching my regular dental care here visits even though it's a bit further away. read more

I've been coming here for about 7 years now, originally because they offered Saturday hours with my very busy work schedule. I've since changed jobs twice and they have taken all of my changing insurances (Signa, Aetna, Blue Cross, etc.) as well as all of my HSA providers. Dr. Bawany took over the practice around 5 years ago and changed the name from All Dental Tampa to Tampa Smile Co. I like Dr. Bawany and always received quality treatment from him. The practice has since expanded greatly and recently, I've also seen Dr. Bentivegna and Dr. Gray, both of whom were great. My last few visits I've had Naomi as my hygienist. She is sweet, personable, and always does a fantastic job with my teeth. As others have said, the only reason this is not a 5 star practice is because they are very pushy with Invisalign and the related Invisalign technology. They must be getting quite the kickback from that company as they really pride themselves on how many Invisalign treatments the've been able to push. I had a very negative experience there. I posted on Google what it was and the dr is now trying to gaslight what really occurred. Was a patient nearly 2 years ago to get a crown. Now it began to bother me to the point it was feeling tight, biting hurt and was constantly bighting my right cheek. It really hurt. Went and had Dr. C. X-ray the teeth in that area and it was concluded that I have a #2 upper molar decaying near wisdom tooth.However, he also stated that the crown tooth, which is next to it might need adjustment. Made an appointment for such extraction for the following week. When I arrived for my appointment and sat in THE CHAIR, a dental assistant swabbed the area of my mouth with a numbing agent. The dentist, Dr. C., stated he doubted something and tapped and blew cold air around that side of my mouth and annonced he would not go through with the extraction. He encouraged me to go for a root canal and crown and summoned another dentist in who is a ROOT CANAL SPECIALIST and could Verify my pained area..etc .I had already made it clear I was NOT interested and believed that if #2 is decaying and the crown hurts then those issues needed attention one of which included pulling #2. The other dentist barely looked at my mouth and seemed disappointed about my decision. He was not interested in solving my crown issue and Dr C. left the room as the other dentist handed me an oral surgeon referral slip since that is "What I wanted." I went on to write a truthful review on Google. Dr. C. Definitely bent the truth and then some in his response. Could not rebuttal on Google it would not let me.The only favor he did for me was to NOT Extract #2 as it really does require a competent and experienced oral surgeon who has since tended to me. Infact, as it turns out, if I would have gone with the root canal/crown treatment, I would have ended up with decaying crowns and an additional extraction or two as well as $$$ extracted from my wallet. This is what a non-referred oral surgeon explained to me.DO NOT let these people touch you. Had been coming to this practice for about a year. Only had issues with them billing me for fluoride treatments that were not covered by my insurance. Went for a routine cleaning and inquired about Invisalign, they said I was the perfect candidate. My insurance would cover half of the $5,000 - I paid the other half and was told I would hear back in about a month where I would receive my aligners. Never heard anything - called a couple times because I also never received the forms to consent to the treatment (their computers were down etc.) About a month and a half later they ask me to come in to go over everything . I go in and find out that my treatment would also require veneers. I tell them I need to think about it and I will call back. Call back 2 days later declining treatment and asking about my refund. They tell me it has to go through accounting. I wait , don't hear anything and call back. I am advised I will be charged a fee for what they have done thus far. A ton of back and forth later I finally get a written "bill". I am told I am being billed $500. I am being billed for X-Rays that my insurance already paid out for ($156) .I am being billed for the consult, the second time I came in to go over treatment - my insurance also already paid for this ($128). I am being billed for a "pre ortho exam" aka my cleaning that my insurance already paid for ($68). They go MIA stop returning phone calls etc. Luckily we had the email where they "agreed" to refund us $2,000 of the $2,500 and we used AMEX so we were able to dispute at least that portion and received a refund. Come to find out this isn't even Invisalign but instead a 3rd party they use for the work up and treatment. Don't know if I will ever get the portion of the $500 they owe me because my insurance already paid out a part of it. Just don't bother with this place - not only will they lose my business but I had already referred a co worker of mine that I will make sure does not go back as well as warning anyone else not to waste your time here . I came here for a cleaning & routine X ray. Everything here TAKES FOREVER! I'm here at least 1-2 hrs each time. They saw I needed a cavity refill and a crown. So I come back the next week for this and for some reason they hadn't run my insurance until I showed up again, I waited an hour for them to tell me it would cost me $1,200 after they took my impression for the crown! I said no I can't afford that, maybe $200-300 but not that. So I wasted an entire hour and left. They call me an hour later to tell me they can do it for $300 so I said sure. I go back a week later and they didn't have my correct numbing medication for me because I'm pregnant. So again a waste of time. I come back again another week and they finally do the cavity and prep the tooth for the crown but it took over 2 hrs! And for some reason had to the impression again so the crown wasn't there. Then I had to come back 2 weeks later to get my actual crown. This again took 1.5hrs waiting for the doctor to show to simply glue in my crown. Overall I've spent about 10+ hrs here in the past month just trying to get a cleaning, a cavity fill & a crown. If you have time to kill, sure use them. But if your time is valuable, I'd avoid this place. The service itself on my teeth was fine, but I'm so sick of waiting around for people and wasting my time for something that should have never taken this long. Beware! This is a bait and switch scam. I called and made an appointment for a cleaning explained to receptionist that I already had x-rays performed and if needed I could have them emailed over. When I arrived there the receptionist then told me I would have to pay for new patient exam and x-rays then schedule a cleaning. Sometimes it is what it is but my issue is that this could have been conveyed on the phone. When I asked why this wasn't conveyed before the appointment, that's when she lied! She said she did state that on the phone message. So I replayed the phone message for her in her own words wanting only to confirm the appointment. read more

I would like to take a moment to publicly call out dentistry that needs to be reviewed and investigated. I am disgusted at how unprofessional, manipulative this company is and how dishonest they are to their patients. I was treated at AllDental Tampa in South Tampa, Florida under the supervision of NuSmile Dental Nadia O'Neal, DDS, PA. for veneers in 2017. I was told in order to get veneers, I would need Invisalign, which let me mind you it was not what I was interested whatsoever. I went through with it anyway, and they decided I need laser cleaning treatment in order to get my Invisalign... I was treated for laser cleaning and let me tell you, the amount of pain and bleeding I went through was horrific after telling them multiple times I was going through a lot of pain. Fast-forwarding to when my Invisalign arrived. I lasted a month or two with them on after telling them on multiple occasions I did not want to be treated anymore because I was unsatisfied with their service and the level of their professionalism and other factors that made me feel not comfortable with their dentistry. I was told by the Office manager she would speak to the owner and I would be refunded but not the whole amount and I would have to wait 6-8 weeks to be refunded. I asked to speak to the owner and set up a meeting who is Nadia O'Neal and was responded with "she's busy and on training", it now has been four months later and I have not gotten a call from the owner. I found after like 3 months ago or so, I would not be refunded because my treatment was 'completed' when on the contract it clearly states the treatment period was 12 months and I only did two months of the treatment. So, now we are here, today. With a debt amount of $7,000 on a treatment, I am not being treated or being seen for. Let me say this now and again I spent $7,000 on Invisalign (bottom trays only) and I am not using them and they aren't wanting to refund me after they told me they would. I would like to call out this company and let everyone know how disgusted I am right now. I will not stay silent about this anymore. I hope everyone who is reading this understands there are some bad and DISHONEST people in this world who are here to do whatever they need to do to get money and I am here to share my story to prevent this happening to you. The visits start off well, then the pushy deals start. They convinced my husband that he couldn't wear bottom dentures. Pushed care credit , took our dental insurance and a credit card . Needless to say he wanted to go cheaper and they still charged him 2000 dollars for services they pushed on him. What was a short visit for info. I first started going here because I broke a tooth and needed an emergency appointment. I ended up being heavily pressured by the office manager, in a one-hour, closed-door meeting, into having several crowns and two bridges put in. I should have acknowledged the red flag and run when I said I didn't have the money or insurance to pay for all of the work she was suggesting and she said, "Don't you have family you could borrow from? I know my family would totally be willing to help me out." (For anyone unsure, this statement alone makes her an irremediably terrible person because it (1) implies that every procedure proposed by a dentist is absolutely necessary; (2) presumes that every patient has the infinite stores of disposable income that a dentist does; and (3) insults any parent who might not be wealthy enough to lend $10,000+ to a child for dental work.) Although I didn't like the hard sell, I did agree to have the work done that I deemed immediately necessary. For a year or two I saw a really wonderful dentist, who oversaw the fitting and placement of my crowns/bridges. I think this was James Annicchiarico, but I wish I knew for sure (I didn't pay attention when he introduced himself because, at the time, I was hoping to get my one broken tooth fixed and never see this office again). One day, he was just...gone. Replaced by a new dentist who never introduced himself. Then another. And another. And another. Meanwhile, through the parade of anonymous dentist-fill-ins, I continued to come here for cleanings, because I liked the hygienist, Anjelika. She was gentle and friendly. And then (see above) one day she was just...gone. She was replaced by a nameless bald sadist who once said to me, "Does that hurt?" When I said yes, he simply replied, "Good." Fortunately, he was gone four months later, replaced by Patty. Patty assured me that there would be no more staff turnover. Two new dentists later, Patty (who really is great) is still there, still assuring me that there will be no future staff turnover. The front desk staff used to be lovely, but, as seems to be the pattern here, they have recently been replaced by abrupt, disorganized, borderline-rude receptionists. In addition to the most recent receptionist, who replied to my "Hi, how are you?" with a suspicious "Yeah?," I've had an (unknown) receptionist schedule me for an appointment in the middle of my workday, immediately after a phone conversation in which I told her I absolutely could not come in at that time. I spent the next month attempting to cancel the unwanted appointment via phone, email, and text; meanwhile, the autoconfirm system called, emailed, and texted me daily, regardless of my attempts to explain that I actually did not have an appointment. Clearly All Dental/NuSmile has no intention of hiring or retaining any good staff members for longer than a few months. If you want quality care and a stable staff roster, do NOT go to All Dental/NuSmile. read more

THIS DENTAL OFFICE SCAMS PEOPLE. GO AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!!! I first went to All Dental because I had a coupon which gave me X-rays and a cleaning for $89. At the time, I didn't have insurance so I thought this would be a good deal. I went in to the office, and the dental hygienist, Angelika, told me that my teeth were in such poor condition that I needed a full debridement instead of a regular cleaning and also told me that she recommended I get a fluoride treatment as well. I walked out that day spending close to $130, no where near the $89 I went in thinking I was going to pay. I felt the hygienist did a great job cleaning my teeth, though, so when I received insurance with my new job, I called up All Dental to see if they covered my plan and they assured me that they were a covered provider with my plan. I went in a few months later for my next cleaning, and the girl at the desk took my insurance card and verified my coverage. She stated I would have a co-pay and that the rest would be covered by my insurance. I then had my teeth cleaned as usual. I went again 6 months later, had my teeth cleaned again and thought everything was fine. About a week after my 3rd cleaning, I received a statement from my provider stating that my claim from All Dental was denied. I called up my provider to get to the bottom of the issue and they informed me that All Dental did not follow proper protocol of billing my claim for service through the Dentist (who was covered by my plan) but instead billed me through the dental hygienist, Angelika, who is not only not covered by my insurance, but also has no tax ID which makes it impossible for my insurance to accept it. I called All Dental and they reassured me that they would fix the issue by re-submitting my claim through the proper procedure of billing through the dentist. I went back in for another cleaning a month later, thinking that everything had been resolved. I went into the office, assured the girl at the desk that my insurance had not changed and proceeded into the dental office for a cleaning. I sat down in the dental chair and the hygienist put the dental bib on me. She then informed me that they had some new paperwork to go over with me since they recently changed dentists. As she was going over some of the paperwork, it dawned on me that my service today might not be covered due to the Dentist switch. I proceeded to ask her why no one had informed me before I came in for my cleaning that they changed dentists. I also told her I was worried the new dentist may not be covered by my plan. Finally, I asked her if everything had finally been cleared up from a few months ago when my claim was denied from them. The hygienist looked visibly nervous and assured me she would get to the bottom of everything right away. She left me sitting in the dental chair, and closed the door. I could hear hushed voices from the hallway. That was when I started to realize that something shady was going on. I called my provider immediately on the phone, stepped out into the hallway and told the office person to speak to my provider. After they spoke, my provider informed me that the new dentist was in fact NOT covered by my insurance, and the previous claim that was supposed to have been re-submitted by the Dental Office under the contracted provider was never submitted. I asked the dental office why they never re-submitted my claim and instead kept sending me bills to my home and they claimed it was because the previous Dentist had left and they had no way of submitting the claim under him. I told them that if they wanted to get paid, they had better find a way, as I did not feel I was under any obligation to pay for a Dental Service when I was lied to and told my service would be covered. I then walked out and haven't been back. And to think after all the lying they have done, the fact that they let me walk back into that office and conveniently failed to tell me updated important information about my coverage as it relates to their business is abominable. This place should be SHUT DOWN for lying to the public and giving misleading and wrong information. (PS, the only reason why they received one star from me is because I couldn't finish the post without clicking at least one. They don't even deserve that one star) read more

As a new arrival to the Tampa area I immediately went to my insurance company's website to find a dentist when my front crown came loose. All Dental Tampa seemed very accommodating when I called to ask if they could see me as soon as possible. Little did I know when I went in that I would be there for close to 4 hours waiting for a temporary crown. Of the four hours I was there, I spent 2 and a half hours sitting around waiting to be seen, or being moved from one room to another. They coerced me into having a $500 deep cleaning that my insurance didn't pay for and when I left the clinic that day, although I wasn't thrilled with my temporary crown I was glad to know that my permanent crown would be ready in 2 weeks. I waited the two weeks and then called on the status of my crown, I was told it would take a few more days and they would call or email when it came in. Then, I got an email telling me there is no crown and that I needed to come in and have more impressions done. I was very confused. I had been told in the office and over the phone twice that a permanent crown was being made. Why the sudden change in story, what happened to the impressions that were taken for the permanent crown? When I asked why they had lied, they had no answer. They then turned around and said that the dentist had discussed having an implant done. I never discussed this; it was never an option. I immediately called my insurance company and I am in the process of filing a grievance. My insurance company told me that I never should have paid anything up front as no bill had been submitted. I blame myself for not reviewing this dentist before i went to see them. I am out of money, ($1000) and I have an ugly temporary crown and a teeth cleaning I didn't need. Finally, I should have known something was not right with this establishment when I saw how shabby it was inside, how slow they were and yet how aggressive they were when they wanted me to sign a bunch of forms before they did anything. Biggest dental scam artists Ive ever encountered. Please save yourself time and money and listen to all these terrible reviews they have received. Long story short, they did a root canal on my fiancés wrong tooth, one of my crowns that they fixed came loose within 2 weeks they blamed me and refused to fix it unless I agreed to pay them the full price to repair it, and one of my teeth had a very small chip in it and they told me I had to have it fixed by them within one month. 6 months later and my tooth is completely fine. Our total bill here was about $7,000. Their 'salesperson' Lilly doesn't know up from down and their office staff is crazy and rude. I don't know how this chop shop is still in business. I guess from ripping us off as good as they can for the short time they are trusted by a patient. read more

I am afraid of the dentist but from the moment I crossed the door, I was greeted with kindness and special interest on me. I felt like they were really concerned about my fear. The Dr. Offered me several options to calm a down durning my root canal. I was panicking but I felt nothing. Lily was great giving me support while Dr. Greer was working, Jackie was great helping me with my insurance and scheduling. The best experience I have had. The receptionist was nice and professional but that is where the professionalism ended. We were charged for a deep cleaning and received less than a regular cleaning - which we get free with our insurance. We were pressured by the hygienist to get the cleaning, quoted one price then they tried to charge twice what was quoted after the cleaning was done. It took twice as long - 4 weeks!- to finalize a simple dental procedure. We saw the "dentist" for a total of about 10 mins during those weeks. The procedures were done by less experienced dental assistants. We will report this office to the insurance company as providing substandard care. read more

So I decided to try this dentist out. BIG MISTAKE!! Had an appointment at 3:00 on Friday afternoon. Get to the building and its a little rough looking on the outside but I proceed to give the inside a chance. The lobby smells musky and seems dingy. The two girls at the desk seem surprised to see me. I state I have an appointment and they tell me I couldn't have one now because there is no dentist there at this time. She checks her computer and indeed I had an appointment for a cleaning and xrays/checkup. But, she proceeds to tell me there is no dentist there after 2:00 on Fridays and there is not a hygenist there at this time either. Needless to say, I left there having had no xrays, no cleaning and with the intentions of never going there again! read more
