Build your own mushroom Swiss burger with side of sweet potato fries
    Christine N.

I picked this place based in the location as I was meeting a friend for lunch and we'd each be driving 45 minutes- 1 hr. It was a great call!! Yummy food in a comfortable setting. We were among the first diners on a recent Saturday afternoon but people continued to come in. The walls are full of local and national sports team photos and memorabilia. TVs were on different games/events. Our waitress was the perfect combination of friendly and helpful. She quickly greeted us, gave us menus and took our drink orders. When she came back we'd been chatting so much we hadn't looked at the menu. She was good with that and checked back in a reasonable amount of time to take our order. I had the build your own burger with Swiss cheese and mushrooms (and the lettuce tomato and onion that was included). I picked sweet potato fries for my side. There was NOT an up charge for this!! My friend had the chicken and pesto panini with fries. We each had iced tea -which only comes unsweetened (bonus points for this!!) Our waitress checked in to make sure we were set and enjoying our meal and that our drinks were full and at the end even offered an alternative route for me to take home as she'd heard me talking about a road closure on the route I would have taken. Again- friendly and helpful. We were offered dessert but we didn't indulge. The lunch filled me up! All this for under $20 (before I tipped)

We loved our server T-2 Travis. He was great and everything we ordered was amazing. Can't wait to get back again.

Burger w/ lettuce, sautéed onion, bacon, cheddar cheese, and mushrooms and mashed potatoes

Me and my family came to this small town in Hamilton, New York to visit the college my parents went to. We decided to go out to dinner and Rusch's was recommended by the B&B we were staying at. There were some small inconveniences, the men's bathroom's lock wouldn't really hold the door closed, our waiter said she was getting me a coke, but it wasn't a coke, it was a Pepsi. Of course, this all wasn't very important but did not help with impressing me either. We got an appetizer which was pretty good, popper shrimp. And for my entree I got a burger with lettuce, sautéed onions, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, and bacon. While the burger was good the mashed potatoes I got on the side were terrible. They were hard and tasted like my grandmas carpet. Overall, it wasn't terrible but wasn't worth more then four stars either.

    Drinks on Friday!

Friday night at Rusch's - we sat at the bar, just looking for appetizers and a drink. Quick service, we ordered the flatbread pizza and mozzi sticks. Mozzi sticks were below average, small, nothing to rave about. The pizza was good, we did the Meat Lovers. Now let's fast forward to Sunday when we stopped in spur of the moment while in the area - horrible. Flat soda, took FOREVER, we arrived at 2:30, sat at the bar, ordered promptly the Minor League Nachos, FINALLY set them down in front of us 30 minutes later, ugh! And they really were not what we expected, we chose steak as a topper, they must have forgotten to cut it up? Chunks too large to enjoy with chips...guess it really comes down to the day, yay for Friday, boo on Sunday

Wings are great. The beer offering is usually pretty great and turns over frequently. I wish they'd bring back the Cuban sandwich.

There is a bar as well as booth seating but no direction or indication of waiting to be seated or seating yourself. I didn't want to go unnoticed so I sat at the bar. (Most of the tables are past the entry way and bar area). There was a family group, a few couples and a group of guys playing darts off to the side. I sat there for more than five minutes before I was even acknowledged. I know this because I could see the Guinness Countdown to St Patrick's Day (down to the second) from my seat. There were 3 girls behind the bar but one seemed to be doing most of the bar work. As I put on my jacket to leave, I finally had the attention of one of the girls so I decided to take my chances and stick with my dinner plan. She got me a menu and asked for my drink order. There weren't any hard ciders on tap but they did have canned Awestruck (local). I noticed the fried pickle appetizer and asked her about it. She told me they were spears and very popular. I decided to take her recommendation and ordered them, along with a Cooley's Handmade Burger with sautéed mushrooms and swiss cheese. My pickle fries came out first since they were an app and I can tell you two things about them...the portion was huge and they were absolutely the best I've ever had! Not long afterward, my burger arrived and that was really tasty as well. I opted to bring the rest of my pickles home and I can tell you that even the next day, with the help of the air fryer, they were still tasting great! I am so glad I stayed!

Nothing says autumn like a "Frozen Mango Breeze" while watching your breath fog up indoors. The soundtrack was off-brand Doors covers featuring an enthusiastic bongo player who was clearly paid by the beat. The volume fluctuated like the tavern's Wi-Fi signal -- one minute it was a whisper, the next it was like being trapped in a drum circle during a Jim Morrison séance. Inside the "non-smoking" bar, a delightful smoky haze drifted through the air thanks to the staff's decision to use the ashtray as a doorstop. It's like they wanted to recreate the authentic 1980s bowling alley experience. The single bathroom door doesn't lock, which adds a fun new twist to your visit -- the thrill of potentially making a new friend while washing your hands. After 25 minutes of waiting for our high-stakes order (boneless wings and a salad), our server cheerfully reported that it was "gettin' there." We decided our patience wasn't, so we paid for our drinks and told her our tip was gettin' there too. Five stars for unintentional comedy. One star for everything else.

They have classic arcade games like pinball & galaga, but they also have the newer games like buck hunter & a beer pong machine. The food is top notch, I always get their burger (made with their own special short-rib blend). They have a great selection on tap, with new beers rotated in pretty regularly. But the best part by far are the owners, Chris & Donna. They are the number one reason we keep coming back. I've never felt more welcomed in any establishment, it's like being in an episode of "Cheers" (but for millenials).

Looked over the menu and placed our order with Michelle, who by the way provided very good service along with assistance from another guy, didn't catch his name at the bar.. Chris and Donna both stopped over to check in on us and say hello, as she remembered us from a time we previously stopped and they really appreciated that we returned. A plus to management. For the food - My spouse and I tried their BBG's hamburgers - mine with side salad vs. fries or chips with a champagne dressing that was very good. Spouse had hers with Fries and they were good along with the burger. To be honest, when you first look at the burger and bun, see picture, you think, SMALL, however they are very thick & delicious and I barely finished my burger. Someone else had their Cuban and he enjoyed his sandwich with Excellent, I must say, sweet potato fries. His spouse had their NY chicken speidi and she enjoyed her meal as well. Lots of fun games and great place for kids and parties, they even let you bring your own cake in. Not many places that allow that. As an FYI there was a small birthday party going on and the noise level wasn't bad and the staff placed lots of great looking food on a table for the participants to help themselves. This is also a great place to catch a sports game as well. All in all great food and very good & friendly service. We will return again, that roasted sausage sandwich is calling my name.
