I would like to update my review of Dr.Rush and her clinic. Back in March her neglect resulted in the death of our beloved dog Vader. I was contacted by Dr.Rush insurance company about a week after our dog was found dead. I have filled out all of the requirements her insurance has asked of me. I completed everything by the end of April. I reached out to the agent in July to see the status of the claim. I found out they sent paper work to Dr.Rush and she is refusing to sign it. It is now August and our claim is still active! Because again Barb Rush is still refusing to step up and take responsibility! I would avoid Rush animal clinic like the plague! read more

I would not recommend this clinic. They recently were boarding a regular patient while the family vacationed in Florida. This little dog -Vadar-was only six pounds and 10 years older. They allowed her to escape, did not make attempts to actively search for her, were rude to the owner who had to organize a search herself from Florida. They refused to post anything on their FB page asking others to help look. They deleted all comments from their page-some were just asking for updates nothing derogatory. They never accepted responsibility nor apologized. The dog was found dead two days later about three businesses down. She had died alone and from hypothermia. read more

the staff are great, and the Doctor is very sweet they much they meet needs of their patients and client.

We have been taking our dogs to Rush Animal care since they opened in 1992. The care provided has been excellent. Over the course of almost 30 years I have never been disappointed or concerned about the quality and professionalism. We have experienced many health issues with our dogs and we could always count on Dr. Rush to promptly diagnose and treat even the most severe illnesses. We have called upon her at night, on weekends and once on Christmas Day. Her professional judgement and demeanor is impeccable. I heard about the lost dog and I still feel badly for the owners. I spoke to the clinic staff about search efforts at the time. Following their advice, family members and I immediately combed the area. We tried again the next day, but to no avail. We didn't think he could have gone too far, but was hiding out of fear. I want the owners to know that people really cared and did try to find your beloved Vader. read more

Dr Rush is fantastic. I have been taking my dog here for years. When I lived with my folks in Johnston we would take our dog to her. She was a mostly outside dog who lived to the ripe age of 12 or so. After her passing I was blessed with another dog. When I moved back into town I had no question in mind who my vet would be. My dog is now 15 years old. Dr Rush has been there for Sugar especially now as she is showing her age. The staff there is very kind and her dogs come out and greet other dogs on occasion. They are always well behaved and friendly. I have to tell you that I have had a couple scares with my Sugar over the years. The one summer I thought that maybe she ate some poison. I didn't see her do it but I saw her close enough that I was scared. The office was closed but when I called her she picked up and walked me through on what I needed to do. The time where she ate coffee grinds in the canister of food compost and I called Dr Rush and she walked me through on what to do. The time another dog grabbed at her neck and left a little puncture mark, Dr Rush was happy to give me recommendations on how to treat it over the phone again. The treatment to help with her aging bladder and a few other ageing ailments. I am so lucky to have a healthy 15 year old Siberian Husky with help from my vet. I will keep taking any fur-baby that I have to her. I would highly recommend Dr Rush and her office for all your vet needs. I am so happy to have my dog and I know I truly appreciate all the help and advice from her over the years. read more

This place is absolutely wonderful. They take care of my dog like they've known her for years. They always remember previous visits. The staff and the doctor are super nice and super wonderful. They always answer the phone when there is a concern or question. The appointments don't feel " "rushed." Lol I'm gonna apologize for that pun now. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. They lost a dog, barely searched for her, and she ended up she passing away-cold and alone of hypothermia. When you pay to have your dog boarded you expect them to be safe and taken care of-unfortunately this was not the case. Vader was such a sweet, loving, and cuddly dog, but now she is just gone. This vet is very disappointing, and i feel horrible that someone had to lose a family member like that. read more

New to the area, I wasn't sure where to start for a pet vet when I got my shihchon, Oscar. Finding a place that was friendly and personable was really important to me because as a new pet owner I really wanted Oscar to feel comfortable. I received a referral to Dr. Rush from a friend 7 years ago and I won't take Osc anywhere else. Dr. Rush and Sam have been nothing short of wonderful! They are knowledgable, helpful, friendly, and even patient when they would get the random "is this ok for Oscar?" calls from me in his puppy years. Even though I know Oscar's obviously not their only patient, I love that they remember us and make him feel comfortable. read more

I love the team at Rush Animal Care SO MUCH. Dr. Rush, Dr. Huston, JT, Rebecca, and the rest of the staff go above and beyond every time. I have two VERY high-maintenance, accident-prone dogs (one is a senior shelter pet with anxiety/fear aggression and the other is a giant puppy who gets nervous around new people); Dr. Rush and co. do so much to make sure my boys are comfortable and taken care of even when they're difficult and hard to handle. Their prices are very affordable and they work with Care Credit & your pet insurance to make sure costs are manageable. I seriously can not recommend them enough, they've handled everything from neuter to teeth cleaning and have always been able to see us for emergencies same-day or as soon as possible. read more
