The Magic Touch Is Still Very Much Alive It had been a while…read moresince my last visit, and coming back to Penny Ann's Cafe in Draper was a genuinely pleasant surprise. Five locations and they have not lost a step. The menu is simple and does not need to be anything else. Plenty of omelette options, solid sides, and the star of the show: the Heavenly Hot Cakes. The name is not marketing fluff, it earns every word. Light, airy, and unlike any pancake you will find at a generic breakfast chain. Their secret, sour cream folded into the batter. Whatever they are doing, it works! We ordered a single stack, two Heavenly Hot Cakes, and paired it with a side of strawberries and Nutella, scrambled eggs, and home fried potatoes. The bacon came out crispy to perfection, exactly as requested, no more no less. The strawberries and Nutella alongside the pancakes was an indulgent combination that I have zero regrets about. Portions are generous and the prices are more than fair for what you get. Staff was friendly and the place fills up fast on weekends, so join the waitlist before you leave home. Do not show up and hope for the best. Five stars. A Utah breakfast institution that continues to earn it.

The omelette was mid same with the coffee. But the service was good. The environment was clean overall we would go there again.

This is one of the best spots for breakfast in Utah Valley, you have to arrive early if you don't…read morewant to wait more than 30 minutes for a table on weekends. I recommend joining the waitlist in advance. It's tough to choose from such a wide range of delicious options, but my go-to pick is always the Mixed Berry Dutch Baby, Baby! The berry syrup and cream cheese topping set it apart from other breakfast places. We also had the Classic Breakfast Special, with crispy bacon cut thick to perfection. The interior is one of the most distinctive things about the place. Nearly all the Art Deco furnishings, the booths, mahogany paneling, black glass counter, and light fixtures, were salvaged from Lamb's Grill, a Salt Lake City restaurant that had operated since 1919 before closing in 2017. Eating here feels a bit like dining inside a piece of Utah history. The service is usually excellent, and you can tell they take the motto behind their name seriously: "True service is true religion." This visit, our waitress did seem in a rush to turn the table, but the quality of the food made it easy to overlook. Worth noting: they run a Second Chances charity that supports people in recovery from addiction, those reintegrating into society after incarceration, and folks rebuilding after financial hardship or other life challenges. It's a meaningful mission, and it's part of what makes this place feel different from your average breakfast spot.

I have a train service animal that accompanies me almost everywhere. On June 10 I arrived at the…read morerestaurant which was not busy and was told that I would be required to sit on their outside patio because of my service animal. When I reminded them that they are in violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act, the manager, Mirta Solis just shrugged and said that's the policy. Now, if it were a crowded restaurant I could definitely understand them, offering me a seat on the patio. However, it is 50°, I'm dressed in shorts and a T-shirt, and I would be uncomfortably chilly having to sit outside. Regardless of my comfort, this is still of course, a violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Service dog handlers beware, this is not a restaurant in compliance with the ADA. I will be filing a complaint with the department of justice, if this happens to you, I highly recommend you do the same.

The limited menu is executed well and the addition of "boozy" drinks is a fun touch. However,…read moreservice is always a little slow but excellent and Lisa went above and beyond to help us adapt the limeade for our daughter with type one diabetes. They have indoor and outdoor seating, it's always a little loud which you expect for a popular joint. We love the biscuits and the new bag of minis most definitely made its way home with us today.

I want to start off with customer service. My friend and I were here for brunch. In the middle of…read moreeating and conversation, we were brought our check. That will always make me feel rushed, and it will always ruin the meal. We were probably only there for 20-30 mins by this point. So we cleared the tab and our waitress immediately came over with to go boxes that we declined, and then asked to clear our dishes. Anyways on to the food. I order the Hoss, and it was a strange combo for me personally. Chicken and biscuits is one thing but the bacon made it heavy. The biscuits itself were good as was the gravy. The thing as a whole just didn't blend well together for me. My friend ordered the Biscuit Benedict and it came with hash. I tried the hash and it almost felt like I was eating mash potatoes. It was very mushy. Hash should definitely not be mushy. Overall the food I would give a 3. The customer service is what had me decide on a 2.
