I visited this restaurant four years ago and had a difficult experience -- our order was incorrect, and when we raised the concern, the interaction with our server became uncomfortable. I gave it time and decided to try again yesterday, hoping things had changed. They hadn't. We waited 15 to 20 minutes without being acknowledged. We flagged down a passing waitress and asked that someone come to our table. No one did. We eventually left without being served. What puzzles me is the reviews. There's a noticeable split -- a subset of customers seem to have genuinely wonderful experiences, while others describe something much closer to what we encountered. That kind of inconsistency makes me wonder whether certain guests -- perhaps regulars, or people who fit a particular profile -- receive a different level of attention than others. I can't say for certain what's driving it, but the pattern is hard to ignore. I'm not writing this out of frustration alone. I'm writing it because I think prospective diners deserve to know that their experience here may vary significantly -- and that the reasons for that variation aren't entirely clear. read more

This is my go to for wings and burgers hands down. I always get the wings extra crispy or even extra extra crispy and the Rush Inn hot sauce is the best wing sauce I've ever had. Rush out!!! First time and last time there. Service was awful. There was a ten person table and a four person table (ours) in there and then a few random people at the bar. Took the server about 20 minutes to take our drink order. He took awhile to bring the drinks out and then left. Waittttttttt, we are ready to order!!! Too late, he was gone. We wait again for him to come back when he explains he is the only server working and has a ten top. Finally get around to ordering. No menu substitutions. Requests seriously blew the servers mind. Someone in our party wanted milk and they didn't have it. Another wanted American cheese on their burger. Didn't have it. Then asked for cheddar cheese on their burger. Didn't have that. Find out they only have colby, gouda, and swiss cheese. I ended up walking out. I was over it. I walked around the plaza and there were a few other seemingly good places to eat. First off let me tell you that the wait staff was fabulous. We had Jordan as our server and he was wonderful. But that's about all that was wonderful. Drinks: I ordered an espresso martini, and my husband ordered a Moscow Mule. They were both very strong, alcohol wise. However, neither of them tasted like they were supposed to taste the espresso. Martini tasted like chocolate milk with a kick, and the Moscow Mule tasted like ginger only - nothing else. Food: I ordered the beef stroganoff which were overcooked noodles. The beef was good and mushrooms from a can, and a ton of onions. There was no sour cream served with it, which was different for me, but I asked for some and once I got that the beef stroganoff was better, My husband ordered a stirfry which tasted to him like frozen vegetables sautéed. It came with no sauce so he had to ask for some teriyaki sauce and once we got the small portion of teriyaki sauce he was allotted he said it tasted better. Atmosphere: we sat in the main dining area which was fine. It just was a little bit cold, but of course it was also -11 outside, so no big deal here. I did notice that some customers that were bias left in immediately someone came over and clean their table so that was nice. i grew up in Lakewood, and THAT Rush Inn was great... i was hoping this 1 in Avon would be also... my son was truly freaked out by the large amount of FLIES frolicking at our table, on the window, and our plates ... We went last night as a 'Let's give this place another chance' because the first time we went we waited an HOUR for our food. Why we didn't leave is because they kept telling us over and over it was coming. I will say the manager did take the appetizer off. But it took a total of two hours for lunch. And we wanted to get in, eat, and get out. So we thought it was a fluke. Nope. Last night it took about 15 minutes for someone to greet us- I kept saying let's go, this isn't a good sign but my finance wanted to stay. Once we placed the appetizer order it took 27 minutes to get it. And it was a combo platter for 18.75- which consisted of 2 gross mozzarella sticks, 4 oily mini pierogis, 6 onion rings and 4 wings. Then another 30 minutes for our meal. But the real kicker was when we weren't getting out check so we finally stood up looking for our server and about 6 different employees looked at us and went about their business after I tried to get their attention. VERY disappointing for sure. Usually we have found this Rush Inn and the one in Lakewood to be very good, however, tonight it was NOT good. Our meals took forever (there was plenty of help and it was not crowded...our waitress kept disappearing, could never find her, never asked how our meals were, she never offered refills on drinks, etc). The soups were cold, the burger was cold, but the fries were hot! She was nice enough personality wise, but as a waitress I'd give her a C-. We will not return here for sure. We drove from Lakewood to go here, will stick to the Lakewood Rush Inn from now on. I love the food here, the Brussel sprouts should have their own fan club. I know everyone is struggling to find and keep good help so I'll be kind. However, we always go back because the food is just that good. This time however, I'm finding it tough to forgive..we walked right in and were seated immediately, and then sat and waited for 15 minutes, other tables being sat in the same section waited, but were helped before us. Finally i went to the desk and asked the host to find us a server, we saw a couple who kept waking by not even trying to make sure contact. The manager was at the host station when i went up, he never said a word, didn't apologize, didn't try to help the situation at all, very disappointing. Went there a few years ago prior to Covid and said we'd never return. I am patient with all establishments with longer wait times and rightfully just expect it as the new normal. Just as I remembered it, I generously state its bar food at best. Six of us gathered here at 1pm for lunch. Service was good. My wife had a cup of chili. While she liked the chili itself, I have never seen such a little "cup" it was more a large shot glass or thimble. I believe it was a ramekin. But for $6, there should have been a larger vessel. Another had wings which he said was good. Another had a salad which she said was "chewy" meaning rubbery. Another had a burger which was just alright. Another the Crispy chicken sandwich with potato pancake. She deconstructed it to eat what was edible. $16.50 + $1.75 Another the Cajun Chicken Gyro Roll. Nothing to rave about here. $15.75 I guess the fact that there are many big screens in there and a full bar makes it a draw for those repeating consumers but with all the stiff competition in this business, it seems this place doesn't worry to much about return business. Server and food were fine. My problem is with the Kitchen Manager. When I asked our server if I could try their "Fat Boy" wing sauce before I ordered she went back to the kitchen and returned to explain, "Our kitchen manager is here tonight and said I could not provide a sample for you." ?!?!? I have never heard of such a thing. I could go to just about any ice cream parlor and ask for a sample and am quite positive I could try anything before I ordered. Fat Boy sauce is not like Frank's Red Hot, Sweet Baby Ray's or pick any other known commodity. I opted for the Rush Inn Hot Sauce over Hot Buffalo and it was fine. When paying the bill, I asked the server, what the kitchen manager would have said if I ordered the Fat Boy and wound up sending it back because it was not to my liking? How much would that have cost the restaurant? It makes ZERO sense and is very penny-wise and pound foolish in my opinion. The food came out warm and didn't give anyone food poisoning. That's where the two stars came from. Quick water and no food borne illness. After our order we waited. 20 minutes. 30. 40. 50. 60. At each milestone we're told our food was almost done. We watched as folks came in, sat down. They ordered. Got their food. Ate. Cashed out. Left. We were still waiting. Just two of us. A wrap and the polish platter. Nothing crazy or extravagant. Finally the food came out with apologies of "We're crazy busy back there." Ok. But you weren't too busy to not bring everyone's food out. Just a couple select tables. The food was fair. 30 minutes fair. Not 1:10 fair. At 1:10 I expected phenomenal. We're not the type to demand free food, but when you acknowledge there is a problem without being called on it you could do something, anything, to make this right for your customers. I'm flabbergasted that Yelp reviewers have collectively given Rush Inn only 3 stars (as of 9/8/18). I have been to Rush Inn several times and have been impressed every time. Pierogi Steak Marsala every time, you cannot go wrong. Also they cook their stuffed portobellos to perfection, so if that's your cup of tea, go for it. Also, it's rarely super crowded so you don't need to worry about a lengthy wait. 3/10/2019 - Update: no change, this place is awesome. Still amazed that the average is only 3 stars. read more

Not worth it anymore. Small portions very small. Over priced food and drinks. Bad service to top it off. We got there at 4:30 pm. Not very busy at all. First they sat 4 of us at a booth that was way to small I'm 6'2 245 not a small guy. So we asked to move they did. The service was good at first but then it was like we did not exist. We got our food on time that was good but it was soo small portions I got the French dip for $14.00 with fries it looked like a kids portion and only had like 15 fries with it and the sandwich was like a 6 inch . The meat on it was so dried out you could tell it was in the heating drawer for hours just drying out was the WORST FOOD I have ever had there. Pretty good! I'm we had been meaning to check this out for a long time and finally made the effort. It was lively with a pretty decent menu and lots of beers on tap. Kind of disappointed that the use of face masks appears to be optional at this restaurant. During our lunch today, the bartender was without a mask the entire 90 minutes that we were there. In addition, a member of the kitchen staff made several passes through the dining area without a mask. Two other front of the house employees were seen without masks. We ordered 3 hangover burgers and they were all over cooked. The food came out all wrong. Server seemed high or something. Our food took a solid 45 minutes to come out. Overall horrible experience... it felt like torture sitting there and waiting for our meal. I got served 2 extra diet cokes, which is great, but I didn't ask for them nor was I even close to being done with my first one. Appears to be under new management, and its not going well.
