Without going into all of the gory, sad, expensive and time consuming details, please take my advice and avoid this "service". Honestly I have to imagine these poor reviews are mostly user error. I found this service efficient and professional and extremely responsive. Within a couple of days of sending my paperwork in I received a message stating I didn't write out my check correctly. I chose to reply straight to the email asking what the error was and they responded to me within a couple of days. They were definitely correct I had made an error. I remembered it after they said what it was. I decided to roll the dice and give them authorization to use my credit card (which they already had because I used it to pay for the service and they still asked my permission to run the card for this) They sent me a receipt. Told me approximately when I should expect to receive my new passport based on the package I purchased (2-3 week). This back and forth was all in the same morning after the first reply so they were definitely ON IT. In the end I got my new passport EARLY! Almost a full week early! Highly recommend! read more

I do not recommend. They are not backed by BBB; the process is UNCLEAR and the customer service is not professional. Red flags: they have you pay upfront- no explanation of rushmypassport is a third party. When you log on- it's very easy to think that you're actually paying for your passport fees because the cost is close to the actual fees for the passport. There's no instruction telling you to decline additional expedite fees offered by acceptance agent because we paid a fee to the rushmypassort. It is the same application from the ACTUAL passport website! At the end of the application they have you review your application before you submit. By doing that review of application it triggers their system and it shows you downloaded the application. They claim there is a special barcode on their application which is FALSE. They claim they have their own crew that actually reviews your documentation to speed up the process- FALSE. According to the ACTUAL passport website- outside vendors have NO hand during the passport process. Their customer service hung up on me twice when I was explaining how confusing their website is, I paid an additional expedite fee to the post office because they asked me if it was a expedited passport- I said "yes". I was so confused why I was paying the post office an additional fee when I already paid a fee. I used my already filled out passport application that I had already done from the Actual passport website, not their application because it was the same application. I requested a refund- it's pending. I'm also have reported to the BBB. My order number is GW-FAEC388AD. I highly recommend taking your information to the post office, pay them your rush fee or just process it yourself. It takes the same amount of time and effort. I'm not going to lie, I was very concerned after reading the reviews. I needed my passport for my trip to Japan and realized it was going to be expiring. I got help from AAA and they redirected me to Rush my passport. I did everything the agent over the phone told me to do and paid the expedite amount. I come home and decide to read the reviews and I started panicking thinking I had messed up by trusting this company and now I was fearing I wasn't going to get my passport on time. The total opposite happened and I'm so happy! I shipped all my documents on 09/09 and on 09/10 I received confirmation that my items have been dropped off to the state department. on 09/12 I received confirmation that my items have been approved and they were ready to ship. This service is so bad I'm wondering if the 5 star reviews are fraudulent. Monday- Placed order for 3 week service. Tuesday, visited USPS. USPS said my package is complete but they will NOT accept my application without a Letter of Authorization from RushMyPassport, which was not included in the forms provided for the post office nor can I find it on their website. Tried website chat; waited forever, got nowhere. Called. Only option is to leave a message. TUES- no call back, Wed- no call back. Tried to "check status of my order" and "print shipping label"- both options give "invalid zip code" (the 56,000 who live in my zip code would disagree). THURS- getting worried; call and leave another message with my order number and contact info (again). Talk to USPS again; they will not process my application without the letter. Still no contact. Friday- 3rd call and voicemail, still nothing. Tried to check status again- same invalid zip code, system will not provide a shipping label or order status and no way to talk to a person. Monday (a week later), call again (4th time). It's now near the end of the day the following Monday, with no contact whatsoever. Still cannot check status, cannot print label, cannot process my application. I've requested a refund, had to change travel plans at my expense (now pushed back a month), and pay the post office directly for expedited service and include the $241 on top of it all. 8 days and with zero response- no call, no voicemail, no email, no snail mail, no nothing. SCAM!! I fell for it, don't make the same mistake! If you need a passport urgently, contact the Passport Agency near you. I had a trip coming up in less than 2 weeks and i was able to get my passport in less than 48h for under $200 going through the federal office. Rush My Passport offers that service for more than $500 (!!!), except they're pretty much not doing anything. The only thing they do is collect your info so that it's ready to be submitted for a passport request. But first it needs to be approved by some acceptance office first. When I contacted the office close to me they essentially told me that it wasn't normal that I paid that kind of money and that the federal office guarantees under 2 weeks but certainly not 2 to 3 business days. So I paid too much for a non-existing service.. I called Rush My Passport to ask and cancel the pending payment. I was told somebody will call me back. It's been a week. I'm still waiting... I also sent an email and guess what... No answer! I don't understand that FedEx and Staples support such crooks by directing you to them, only for you to be taken advantage of. The packet was complete including gov check. They wrote me after several weeks saying I did not include the gov check -- a lie and I have a picture to prove it. I sent another government check. Tried to contact RushMyPassport and could not get hold of anyone. They are always either closed or do not return calls. They delayed sending the re-issued check to Dept of State and now Im waiting for a letter from Dept of State before the process can resume--all because of their incompetence and willful mismanagement. I'm pretty sure every 5 star review is completely fake and/or an employee paid a bonus to review the company. Two months ago, I paid for (over $300) three week expedited service. As of today, I have no passport (I mailed them the one set to expire). I have tried multiple times to get ahold of a human being, with no luck. Assuming you can figure out the automated maze of option and find a way to speak with someone, you get put on hold. So far the longest has been 35 min (before giving up). This company is sham. SCAM! DO NOT USE! I would have given a negative score if I could. The reason I decided to use them is that I could not book an appointment at any acceptance office less than an hour away from my house, and we needed a passport for an infant. So I though they can help me to skip the line or expedite that, because what would they charge $400+ for? After filling the documents I had to call them, and the lady didn't bother to tell me that I have to book an appointment at the acceptance facility myself anyway before she released the documents. So it turns out to be that they charge $400+ absolutely for nothing. I booked an appointment at the USPS office an hour away, went there, submitted the documents and got my passport exactly the same day they said I will get it through them. They also want some copies of your documents sent to them. When I asked why, the lady on the other side of the line gave me some vague response that they need to "review" them. They also may have your SSN because it is a part of the application filled on their web-site, and they store the entire documents packet in the PDF format. I contacted them and asked for a refund but I have been told that I am ineligible because I downloaded the packet. The fact that I have not used any of it doesn't seem to bother them at all. UPD: I asked "Kaya" who I spoke to on the chat to get me the supervisor. She said that the supervisor will call me within 48 hours. More than a week passed, no call from the "supervisor". Do not use this company, after taking a day off work to run around and get my documents submitted in time for my upcoming trip. The company completely dropped the ball costing me $1000.00 in flight purchases. Simply because they did not pick up the completed passport and ship it overnight like the representative assured me they would. Several calls were made to make sure they could do what they said and clearly that wasn't the case. This is completely the company's fault!!!! Additionally, there is no mechanism to reach them after hours when they mess up an order leaving a customer (me) to gamble on whether or not to cancel travel. I placed my order for expedited 2-4 day processing - Last monday - sent all the documents on tuesday - it shipped on tuesday and got to them wednesday - started processing thursday - took 4 days to process (sunday) - got my passport this monday it took a total of 5 days after sending the documents to receive my passport and i leave next week!! to top it off, i called them multiple times through out this 5 days for emotional purposes lol and they answered and assured me every time! i was pleasantly surprised with the urgency and customer service provided. Nowhere was it clearly stated that I would still have to go to a USPS location until the very end, when you're forced to download forms and accept payment terms. I ended up paying extra just to fill out a basic form -- something anyone can do for free through the official government site. They promote an "expedited" service, but what they actually provide is just form assistance and a schedule. The real processing is still done by the U.S. State Department, and you're not getting your passport any faster unless you pay the actual government expedite fees. Rush My Passport provides the minimum level of service to be kind of a shitty company rather than an outright scam. They do very little and charge a lot of money to do it, but sometimes a fistful of saved time means the difference between going to Mexico and staying at home. This was the case for us, anyway, when we had to get passports for our two sons, one two years old and the other fresh born in August. We'd booked a February trip to Zihuatanejo when I was still pregnant, but only started the passport process in November. We realized there were so many steps to the process that we were actually tight on time, and hired Rush My Passport in a panic. For $600 a passport, we got a some useful pre-written instructions and an expedition on the order of like four days. We needed those days if we didn't want to deal with the anxiety and risk of waiting until the absolute last minute, when you've cut it so close you're allowed to go to the Federal Building and try your luck (I've done this before; it was not fun). Otherwise, though, the service was pretty threadbare. Customer service was poor--you'd think for that amount of money, there'd be someone available at all times to, I don't know, pick up the phone. There was also an advertised turnaround time of "two weeks" for the last leg of the process, which was actually "fourteen business days," otherwise known as "three weeks." Rush My Passport also doesn't mention that it can take weeks to get an application appointment at the post office, something they 100% know and strategically fail to mention so prospective customers don't factor in that delay when deciding to part with their money. They of course do not help you get that appointment. Anyway, we got our passports in time and had a fantastic time on our pre-paid trip to Mexico, so all in all, we don't regret hiring Rush My Passport. But I wouldn't recommend this service unless you really need it, and you should know just how little you're going to get. read more

My only complaint would be that I wish you could call and speak with someone even for the emotional part of the process. I'm still giving 5 stars because that's really just my quirk. The problem is if you call them during their normal business hour you will just get a recording that the office is closed, although it is normal office hours. They had no idea about this service. When trying to call 1-888-970-0069 (the number provide,) which I have done 5 times only to be placed on hold as they are experiencing high than normal call volumes, it prompts me to leave a message for a callback. I have yet to receive this after 5 attempts. I called the local AAA office and they have no affiliation with this service even though the link is on their website. Total crock.
