Honestly I have to imagine these poor reviews are mostly user error. I found this service efficient and professional and extremely responsive. Within a couple of days of sending my paperwork in I received a message stating I didn't write out my check correctly. I chose to reply straight to the email asking what the error was and they responded to me within a couple of days. They were definitely correct I had made an error. I remembered it after they said what it was. I decided to roll the dice and give them authorization to use my credit card (which they already had because I used it to pay for the service and they still asked my permission to run the card for this) They sent me a receipt. Told me approximately when I should expect to receive my new passport based on the package I purchased (2-3 week). This back and forth was all in the same morning after the first reply so they were definitely ON IT. In the end I got my new passport EARLY! Almost a full week early! Highly recommend! read more

I do not recommend. They are not backed by BBB; the process is UNCLEAR and the customer service is not professional. Red flags: they have you pay upfront- no explanation of rushmypassport is a third party. When you log on- it's very easy to think that you're actually paying for your passport fees because the cost is close to the actual fees for the passport. There's no instruction telling you to decline additional expedite fees offered by acceptance agent because we paid a fee to the rushmypassort. It is the same application from the ACTUAL passport website! At the end of the application they have you review your application before you submit. By doing that review of application it triggers their system and it shows you downloaded the application. They claim there is a special barcode on their application which is FALSE. They claim they have their own crew that actually reviews your documentation to speed up the process- FALSE. According to the ACTUAL passport website- outside vendors have NO hand during the passport process. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their customer service hung up on me twice when I was explaining how confusing their website is[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], I paid an additional expedite fee to the post office because they asked me if it was a expedited passport- I said "yes". I was so confused why I was paying the post office an additional fee when I already paid a fee. I used my already filled out passport application that I had already done from the Actual passport website, not their application because it was the same application. I got help from AAA and they redirected me to Rush my passport. SCAM!! I fell for it, don't make the same mistake! If you need a passport urgently, contact the Passport Agency near you. I had a trip coming up in less than 2 weeks and i was able to get my passport in less than 48h for under $200 going through the federal office. Rush My Passport offers that service for more than $500 (!!!), except they're pretty much not doing anything. The only thing they do is collect your info so that it's ready to be submitted for a passport request. But first it needs to be approved by some acceptance office first. When I contacted the office close to me they essentially told me that it wasn't normal that I paid that kind of money and that the federal office guarantees under 2 weeks but certainly not 2 to 3 business days. So I paid too much for a non-existing service.. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called Rush My Passport to ask and cancel the pending payment. I was told somebody will call me back. It's been a week. I'm still waiting... I also sent an email and guess what... The packet was complete including gov check. They wrote me after several weeks saying I did not include the gov check -- a lie and I have a picture to prove it. I sent another government check. So it turns out to be that they charge $400+ absolutely for nothing. I booked an appointment at the USPS office an hour away, went there, submitted the documents and got my passport exactly the [[HIGHLIGHT]]same day they said I will get it through them. They also want some copies of your documents sent to them. When I asked why, the lady on the other side of the line gave me some [[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]vague response that they need to "review" them. They also may have your SSN because it is a part of the application filled on their web-site, and they store the entire documents packet in the PDF format. I contacted them and asked for a refund but I have been told that I [[HIGHLIGHT]]am ineligible because I downloaded the packet. Rush My Passport provides the minimum level of service to be kind of a shitty company rather than an outright scam. They do very little and charge a lot of money to do it, but sometimes a fistful of saved time means the difference between going to Mexico and staying at home. This was the case for us, anyway, when we had to get passports for our two sons, one two years old and the other fresh born in August. We'd booked a February trip to Zihuatanejo when I was still pregnant, but only started the passport process in November. We realized there were so many steps to the process that we were actually tight on time, and hired Rush My Passport in a panic. For $600 a passport, we got a some useful pre-written instructions and an expedition on the order of like four days. We needed those days if we didn't want to deal with the anxiety and risk of waiting until the absolute last minute, when you've cut it so close you're allowed to go to the Federal Building and try your luck (I've done this before; it was not fun). Otherwise, though, the service was pretty threadbare. Customer service was poor--you'd think for that amount of money, there'd be someone available at all times to, I don't know, pick up the phone. There was also an advertised turnaround time of "two weeks" for the last leg of the process, which was actually "fourteen business days," otherwise known as "three weeks." Rush My Passport also doesn't mention that it can take weeks to get an application appointment at the post office, something they 100% know and strategically fail to mention so prospective customers don't factor in that delay when deciding to part with their money. They of course do not help you get that appointment. Anyway, we got our passports in time and had a fantastic time on our pre-paid trip to Mexico, so all in all, we don't regret hiring Rush My Passport. But I wouldn't recommend this service unless you really need it, and you should know just how little you're going to get. read more

The problem is if you call them during their normal business hour you will just get a recording that the office is closed, although it is normal office hours. You can leave all the messages you want, but they won't call you back. The whole point of this service is to have the process rushed, but they just put you on hold with no followup. Don't make the same mistake I did and not read the reviews. It would have been quicker just to do it on my own and now I may miss the trip and be out $600.
