For the week leading up to this, CVSC seemed to be handling my documents quickly and answering my questions whenever I called. However, now that they have sent me documents with a FedEx code to sign and send in, and there appear to be missing documents, I'm not certain what to do, and after six phone calls, I cannot get through to a real person. Scam Alert I was not able to open an account using the Chinese Consulate website so I hired China visa service center. I applied way ahead of time. I carefully read their instructions. Every day they come up with a new requirement/document they need for processing. When I call they say that the "Chinese Consulate" has new requirements or the documentation is illegible. They also told me that processing time in Los Angeles is 2 weeks. But the Chinese Consulate posted a processing time of 4 business days. I did not pay for "rush" processing because I started with plenty of time. It looks like their scam is to run the clock to get the extra $235. Or they took the initial fee and will not get me a visa. Or they are stealing my information. Their phone ringtone is not a US ringtone. read more

Their customer service representative Queenie booked me a non-existent appointment. I showed up for my "appointment" and there was no one on site and no one aware of my appointment. It was a waste of time and money. This building also offers no validation, so we paid $15 for nothing. Please be aware of this company. Website description is entirely false, no drop off service available, extremely rude receptionist claimed that the office works "by appointment only", and there's no way to book an appointment via phone with two people calling for 30 mins and no answer. Post-COVID service quality has gone down significantly. I checked reviews here before deciding to order. Not worth the $120/application service fee!! Submitted an application and FedEx confirmed delivery several days ago. General service center line is not helpful, and keeps telling me to call back and extends the window of when they need to process received documents (from 1hr, to 24hrs, to 48hrs... etc). Impossible to get a hold of anyone actually in LA, or know if anyone is even there looking at the files. Getting to a point where I may just need my documents back and go to the LA embassy myself. Pretty straight to the point and quick service. I would recommend if you do not want to go wait in the embassy which I also went into the first day. I didn't have a few forms and was told I will need them in order to get approved. Then I walked to the embassy and then there were a TON of people there. There was a queue board but some people just don't follow directions and I see a lot of people cutting each other. Then the pick up line itself was terrible. Based off of what I observed I decided to use CVSC because I didn't want to deal with all that mess. The staff at the embassy isn't too friendly either so that didn't help. This service is great for people who don't want to deal with the crowds. I really hate crowds and having to wait didn't seem appealing to me. The service fee was $99 but they answered all questions and also told me when I can expect it to be ready. I also received a call on the day of that it's ready. I got the 10 year Visa so if you slice it that way that service fee is not terrible at all. I would recommend using them and save yourself the headache of the lines and unfriendly staff at the embassy. I think a lot of the reviews here are meant for the consulate and not this service center because the description is very different from what you could expect. When I came, it's just one office with a few desk in one room. It's not the window or the DMV situation a lot of people mention. I think they are through and knowledgable with my interaction with them but I've done Chinese visa myself and have filled out my forms for many others even if I wasn't the one to help get it process by bring it in and I would go with them with a US passport. With the foreign passports, I think I would rather handle myself. read more

I arrived at 8:50 am and there was already a line outside like at the DMV. However, they are very efficient and I only waited about 20 minutes after they opened to see a clerk. Remember to grab a number as soon as you get last the security check (scanned bags and walk through a metal detector). The ticket machine is easy to miss since it's to the right of the security check. The clerks are very helpful and friendly! If you need to grab a document and come back within the hour, you don't need to grab another number- just wait for the same clerk behind the line and they'll help you ASAP. If you need to print documents, you can walk down the hall and pay ridiculous prices to have them printed for you but it's a good option if you're desperate. read more

To be honest, when I looked the place up, it was hard to find because it lead me on the other side of the building. I thought that they would be able to completely assist me with everything at the visa service center. If the LA CVSC office follows the directions, I received from the California Secretary of State (SOS) I will amend my review. I was truly surprised that CVSC was not aware there is SOS LA office that allows walk in to have Authentication Certificate (Apostille) in 3 days. It take 3 weeks if mailed to the SOS, which CVSC did. Hopefully, with Frank's help and Anthony's guidances on the matter they will get my document re-notarized near the SOS LA office and re submit the document per the instructions of the SOS officer who spoke with me. After thorough research, I decided to use China Visa Service Center for my visa processing. Their website was easy to navigate and understand and the fees were reasonable. I had no trouble getting all the paperwork in order. I called them to make sure everything was correct and the individual helping me, Linda was very sweet and reassuring. They made it an easy going straight forward experience where they provide the direct phone numbers for each office on their website so I am dealing directly with staff and not stuck in some automated labyrinth. I shipped out all my documents and the very next day, I got an email saying everything had been submitted and when I should be expecting everything to be shipped back to me. I was going to call them on the day of shipment but I received an email letting me know that I should be expecting a delivery the next day and it had my tracking number so I could track it myself. Well worth the time and $. Went yesterday to the China visa office and was overwhelmed at the mass of humanity and the crazy lines. I got a number and it was A124. They were on A12. No way I had time to wait for over 100 people ahead of me. The nice security officer told me that I should plan on a three hour wait to drop off the applications and ANOTHER three hours to pick up the visas! I would have had to essentially take 2 days off work since I work in West LA and the visa office is downtown. Frank was super fast and efficient. I showed up at 9:30, gave him my stuff and was out of there by 10 AM. They will ship the visas and passports back to us and we should be good to go on Monday. Will update if any problems arise, but so far so good!! read more

CVSC has helped me twice with a Chinese visa. The first time, I sent my documents in so they can submit it to the consulate for me. I didn't even have to contact them about the status because they sent me email updates so I knew exactly when I was supposed to get everything back. It all went according to plan. The second time I used them, I only called them for information because I was going to be in LA and had time to submit it at the Chinese Consulate myself. You'd think since I was going to the Consulate myself, she would try to avoid answering my questions but she was very helpful and I knew exactly what to do once I got to the consulate. I was there for 3 1/2 hours. Then when my number was called, I accidentally went to the wrong line, and the lady behind the counter yelled at me "why are you here, I didn't call your number" I should have used a service. It was going to be $180 for the two visas I needed. If you take out the $23 I had to pay for parking and the time that it takes (I have to go pick up the visa in a few days) I could have had someone else do it for $157 and it would have saved me about 7 hours of my time. At least I applied for the 10 year visa, which will save me this trouble in the future. Word of warning, don't go the day after a Chinese holiday like I did, apparently it was extra busy. read more

I usually go through the Houston office for all of my visa needs, which always provides me with the best service all around, but I guess now that the Los Angeles branch is open and closest to where I live, my visa application was sent here for processing.
