I simply asked if the tax was four dollars, and he responded with an attitude about San Diego's 10% tax rate. Even after explaining the pricing, he maintained a dismissive, hostile demeanor that made the interaction unnecessarily confrontational. As a regular customer, I felt genuinely uncomfortable with how I was treated. I've been loyal to this store, but this experience has changed that. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Rather ironic that the business is named 420, but after I mentioned it, he told me the 411 behind the reason why he could say it, but I could not; kinda like the "N" Word, they can, any other culture cannot-I'm confused (help me Paula Dean!), but what else is new! The City of San Diego made it legal for them to be in the city, yet now, all of the Medical Cannabis Dispensaries are closed, but let's promote smoking tobacco & it's products-UGH! I have not seen a selection of rollers, grinders, pipes (glass, wooden or other materials), papers, accessories etc. like this since the Head Shops in Downey where I grew up since the '70s! The owner is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, he even cut Marty & I a break on the price since we checked in on Yelp, but he does not have a Yelp check in offer-pretty cool! I only utilize Medical Cannabis at night, when the side effects of my meds, aches & pains, anxiety from my OCD and other aliments rear their ugly head; this is where the owner picked out the perfect rolling papers for me made from Hemp, the roller to fit the correct size of papers and, Marty's 4 Hitter is great for traveling. Regardless of you views on this issue of Smoke Shops & Medical Cannabis, even tobacco-(I stopped that 22 years ago-ICK!), if a business if as clean cut compliant, painted really cool on the outside in a very alluring, not promoting any behavior to the contrary, then I have no problem not only giving them my business, I have no problem with them in my area. If these businesses were all like this, the bad elements they attract would go elsewhere, because this man, and his business are not in the business to promote or condone, only to provide a service for those within the letter & spirit of the law. When in SD, do stop in if you are one to partake, you will be treated nicely, have the laws explained to you and definitely find what you're looking for; again, some of the glass pipes are expensive as the other items are too, yet when it comes to smoking accessories, you get what you pay for, trust me on on this, at age 57, I've experienced much and remember a lot-so much for Mary Jane messing with your memory, got me through Med School & Sociology!
