I reached out to Isai in the middle 2017 to get some help fighting a tax issue I had with the IRS. For several months prior I had tried to handle the situation myself thinking the IRS can't be that bad. Just to update everyone. 3 hours after I posted the truth on yelp, we got our 3rd and final payment of $120 refunded to us. I called him out on his blatant lies and hypocrisy. I went to their office on January 8th to pick up all our original documents. Finally done with this! After being harassed and inundated with emails and texts demanding we pay $1000, starting November 16, 2017, we had decided to only pay $120. As we are reasonable people, however we disagreed about owing anything additional, as he told us we didn't have to pay anything extra in Sept 2017. (He lied) I had asked more than 7 times for written proof our case was settled, and only got something from this guy last week! So thank you yelp! If it wasn't for your wonderful platform, we still would be getting harassing emails and texts. Here is the snarky email he sent to us after the yelp review was posted: Our reply was "stop contacting us". Kimberly, I hope you found comfort in that review. You hired me for one year and paid for one year, but I still helped you with 2 years and worked hard to get your penalties removed without getting paid extra. In 2013 the IRS audited me and said that I under-reported big time on my 2011 taxes. They asked for tens of thousands that I simply did not owe. Due to my negligence, I missed a Notice of Deficiency deadline and on the Notice, it clearly stated (as law) that if I missed the deadline to set up a petition to court, I would have to pay the amount whether or not I owed the money. After I realized my mistake, I went to talk to someone at the local IRS office who gave me faulty advice, I tried to deal with it through the Tax Court via written correspondence, I tried amending my taxes, etc.... This ordeal was nearly 2 years in the making and I was convinced that I would not be able to win against the IRS. Everything I did failed... until I went to Isai & the Bismark Tax group! I spoke with Isai about my case and he mentioned that I can proceed with something called an audit reconsideration, so long as I had proper documentation. Since I had waited so long to try this, it really felt like a long shot, but in the end I told myself it couldn't hurt to try. And what do you know? I got notice of A IRS FULL COMPLIANCE AUDIT (one month after President Obama's IRS Scandal) I filtered Yelp looking for an attorney, as I knew I was going to need one. Plus, I'd rather give my money to an Attorney then to the IRS. Isai did NOT let me down on this intention. I saved paying beyond what otherwise I may have paid, my time included, had I not had the good Blessing of Isai's expertise. ! I reached out to Isai Cortez back in 2013 after I had been fed up with receiving notices from the IRS that they were trying to collect on my past due debt. They placed a lien on my credit report and as you can imagine a lien from the federal government doesn't make you an ideal candidate for any kind of credit. I've seen many commercials for "Tax Attorney's" who can help settle debt for pennies on the dollar. But let's be honest, most of the time they sound like infomercials prying on late night television viewers. I can't say enough good things about Isai. My wife and I had been penalized almost $5,000 after we tried to start our own business (LLC). We had our first child and this changed things a bit and we decided to hold off on opening the business, however, we didn't realize we were still liable to file the first year's tax return since we never became operational. With our new baby, hospital bills, and since my wife was laid off leaving me as the only household income, we just had no means of paying this off. Enter Isai. When I first called Bizmark Tax, I expected a receptionist to pick up the phone, like some of the other places I'd called. At the time, I didn't realize I was speaking with Isai himself! He was very friendly and his personality resonated through the phone. He first listened very attentively to our issue and then explained how he could help. Long story short,thank god for Isai Cortez. If you need to hire a tax attorney, this is your man. If you want details about my personal case to make a decision, read on. I had tax issue from years ago that I tried to sweep under the rug and pretend that it would go away on its own. Of course such things never happened. I wasn't running, just misinformed, confused, and...well, scared. Bismark Tax was referred to me and from the minute I made the call, they have helped me relax. They do all of the communicating with the IRS and State and get IMMEDIATE results! How do they do that??? They have NEGOTIATED and REDUCED the amount owed, worked out and set up a reasonable payment plan, and helped me better understand how taxes work over all. I am new to any of this, so do not have tons of experience with tax firms, but when I share stories with friends, sounds like I scored.
