This is the place to have your favorite SD vacation memory. My kids won't stop talking about it and want to go back!

Spent two days in Keystone as part of our trip to the Dakotas/Mt Rushmore. Unless you have some physical handicap that would prevent you from this activity, it's an absolute must! The synopsis of my review is this: do it! Quit over thinking it. Your family will never forget it. We took the chair lift up the mountain, bobsled down, and spent another couple hours at the aerial adventure. The chair lift was the least exciting of any of the activities but it's included with your bobsled purchase so it's well worth it. Like all chair lifts, it's moving when you get on and off so if that scares you, be advised. Don't freak out... older people were doing it and I think they have the ability to make it really slow if necessary. I didn't realize that we would be able to see Rushmore from the top- so it was a nice surprise to have that magnificent view when we got up there. There is also a restaurant up there and a few people said it was pretty good (we didn't try it). I wasn't expecting much from the bobsled, but I was very wrong. Absolutely a blast and well worth the price. You control the speed so it's pretty easy but is not as "automatic" as I had expected. You will find yourself approaching a curve at a high rate of speed (as your bobsled starts to climb up the wall) and realize you could accidentally leave the track if you didn't slow down. No problem... You just ease back on the throttle and you immediately slow to a stop, if you desire. Super fun. It only has one handle to control speed and little kids have to do it with an adult. My kids and I LOVED the high ropes course. My wife, is not a fan of heights so it wasn't quite as "fun" for her. You are harnessed in so there is little chance of falling to your death but there is certainly opportunity to slip and get banged around a bit on the obstacles/trees. This course has varying levels of difficulty - similar to a ski slope, green course, blue course, black, etc. The harder the level you pick, the greater the degree of coordination and stamina it requires. After a brief safety/instructional review, you receive a safety harness with two hooks and a zip line. You make your own way over various obstacles such as wobbly ladders, cables, rope swings, etc. Again, the harder the course you pick, the more challenging the obstacles. My kids (10 and 14) took off on their own courses while my wife and I were much more cautious and poked along. You can do as many courses as you desire - assuming you didn't purchase a limited time. We bought the twilight pass for several dollars off and we had enough time to do two courses each. That was plenty of time for us. The safety harness is set up so that you always have to keep one hook connected before connecting your other hook to the next safety cable. On top of this, there are parts of the course where you use your zip line holster to get from one obstacle to the next. Again, it would be nearly impossible to fall to your death but if you aren't careful, you could easily lose your footing and find yourself hanging from the safety cable (your ego would take the worst hit as I'm sure people would laugh). Don't let my explanation scare you from doing this activity. Families of all ages were all over the place. On top of this, there were always staff/instructors close by in case you had a question. Of our entire vacation, this park was the most fun. My son is still talking about it, days later. He wishes we lived closer so he could have his birthday party there. :) Tip: wear actual tennis or climbing shoes. I wore closed toe sandals and found my shoes wanting to slip off, which didn't make for the most secure footing. If I were to return to the area, my kids and I would do this activity again. You will create a memory that will last a lifetime.

We had a great time. The ropes course, zip lines, slides and the link and look out was lots of fun. Staff was amazing too. Our only issue was that the price seemed a bit much. $12 for 1 slide. The zip line ride was also a bit much we thought for one zip line. But we would def do it again. Our two 7 year olds had a blast too.

It is a very…read moreamazing monument from the time you walk up through the main gate you can start to see the monument and it's just amazing at the work that was put into it they have lined the pathway with the flags from all 50 states and it just kinda gives you this amazing walk up experience and that if you haven't seen you early enjoy. My family and I spent about an hour and a half there which is a great amount of time you can walk up get some great photos plenty of park Rangers around to talk to get directions and tell you a little bit more about the park They do offer videos certain times of the day that are very informative. They have a full-blown theater at the foot of the mountain, which is really amazing when people can perform and things like that which I had no idea that was there until later. And then they have this amazing easy to travel trail. You can do about 50% of it with the stroller and get close up to the monument and take a great photo but then there comes an area where it says I have almost 450 steps so we stopped right there and turned back, but it does do a loop around the whole area with spectacular views. I definitely think that this is a great place to go and visit really peaceful place well-maintained. They do have restaurants and gift shops there so if you're ever in South Dakota, go and give this place a visit

It's always fun to visit Mount Rushmore!…read more This time around I got to listen to a great presentation given by one of the staff. It was about the battle in Baltimore Maryland in 1814. He talked about the Poem "The Star Spangled Banner" that originated from the site of that battle and how it later became the national anthem. It was a very interesting and educational program that I appreciated experiencing. That paired with the usual amenities of the site really made for a fun part of the day! There is some confusing messaging about how to pay for parking that I think should be smoothed out, but I appreciate that the staff work to create a good experience even when there are uncertainties.

If you're considering a trip to South Dakota, stop looking around and book with My XO Adventures…read more Daniel was our tour guide --he is truly one of a kind. Our tour took us through some of the most breathtaking locations, including Mount Rushmore, the Badlands, and so many hidden gems we never would have known about without him. We also went to Wyoming and saw Devils tower and beautiful frozen waterfalls. But what made this trip amazing wasn't just the scenery, it was Daniel himself. From the moment we started, it was clear that Daniel goes above and beyond for his guests. He thought of everything--water, coffee, snacks, chargers, binoculars--literally everything we could have needed. He is like a walking encyclopedia, sharing history, stories, and fascinating details that made each location come alive. We never felt rushed; instead, he took his time to make sure the experience was all about us. One of the most memorable highlights was something completely unplanned--stargazing in the Badlands. Living near a city, I never get to see the stars like that. But out there, I saw shooting stars, the Milky Way, and even satellites. It was absolutely magical, and it wouldn't have happened without Daniel. He even brought his camera and took stunning photos, which he sent to us at the end of the day--such an amazing touch! This wasn't just a vacation--Daniel said something that really stuck to me, it was a reminder to slow down and reconnect with life and nature (I have a high stress career and always looking to disconnect). The beauty of South Dakota was unforgettable, but without Daniel, we wouldn't have enjoyed it nearly as much as we did. If you're on the fence about booking with My XO Adventures, just do it, It's SO worth it, and you'll walk away with memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you, Daniel, for making this one of the best trips I've ever had!

We decided on the Badlands Sunset and Stargazing tour with XO. Our tour guide Dan (retired Dan)…read morewas phenomenal. We are in our 70's and Dan was so perfect for us. He knew so much about the Badlands. We learned so much that we never would have known if we just drove through on our own. He was a scout master and he comes prepared with his camera with lenses that take beautiful close up pictures that we never would have gotten on our own. He will take pictures of whatever you want. We were picked up at 3:15 and dropped off at 11:30! We even stopped on the way at Wall Drug. The day we went, unfortunately , the weather was not aligning with the night sky we needed to see the stars which is something no one has control over. But the sunset was beautiful and the Badlands did not disappoint so I got over my no star night. My husband said a few times to me, this is well worth the money. He was just the greatest and Aimee the owner was very much updating us about the details and they brought snacks and a huge sub sandwich. I am attaching some pictures but they are ones that I took. I haven't been able to save his pictures in my photos yet. I'm not great at figuring this tech stuff out. P.S. we saw so many bison really up close.
