My husband is VERY allergic to tomatoes and asked for a Hamburger without tomatoes. When arriving home opened up his bag to eat his tomato free hamburger and low and behold there was not only one tomato slice but actually two slices. I applaud their choice to keep their dining rooms closed during the pandemic. Each time I visited the service was quick but the friendliness of the individual taking the order varies. Their food is also hit-or-miss. The slaw is a great example. One time it's fresh and creamy and the next time it is shaved cabbage in a cup. Who can safely eat slaw while driving down the road unless an attempt is made to tip it like a thick milk shake? **Reviewer does not claim to have tried this method of consumption but imagines that dry cabbage may be simpler to vacuum from floor than the creamy blend**. I will keep going back because I like their burgers and especially the chili dogs. The fries are standard - sometimes hot, sometimes warm. I skip the shakes as they are far from thick and creamy. This place is super packed during lunchtime. Received my Cheeseburger combo in under 3 minutes. Very Big! Lots of vegetables and nice sized patty. The meat and fries are bland/tasteless. After reading reviews, I finally gave this place a try for a dinner drive through while running a quick errand. The drive through speaker seemed to be having problems so my order got all confused. Prices were steeper than I was expecting for the level of quality. After reading other reviews, I decided to try the chicken club sandwich basket (substitute potato salad for fries) and a chocolate cake milk shake. For $14, I got a small 12 ounce shake, tiny tub of potato salad and tiny tub of slaw. No drink included. The sandwich had government cheese on a generic hamburger bun. Definitely no frills here. Tried to ask a few questions via the drive through speaker but heard voices of multiple staff shouting back to me and with speaker issues this was a cluster. When I finally pulled up to the window, the window staff were not friendly or welcoming. As a new customer I was surprised at how abrasive an experience I found it to be. The quality of the food was similar to an old school mom and pop take out place but without the value of feeling like your dollar stretches further here than it would at a national chain. Chicken club was tasty. Breading had a good flavor and was closer to Chick-fil-A grade than Wendy's or McDonald's. Bacon was burnt and super crispy which I liked but doubt most would. Mayo, pickle, sliced tomatoes and lettuce were high quality and good taste. Government cheese was a throwback and made me smile a little bit combined with the lower quality white bread bun but overall the taste was good. Kind of had that church cookout feel to it which actually scored it points for me. Slaw was boring, small and unsatisfying. Potato salad was same. I basically got 2-3 forks of each which made me regret ordering the basket. Chocolate cake milk shake was small but tasty. It was exactly what you'd think a milkshake with chocolate cake crumbled up into it would taste like. Overall, I'd say my first Rush's experience will likely be my last. I had a cheeseburger basket with double fries no slaw. The burger is messy, but it tasted fine. The fries were fresh but a little too salty. It sucks that drinks aren't included with the meals but some restaurants are greedy like that. I'd eat here again if it was the only option. read more

I just am not a fast food diner or a fan, BUT on our visits to and from the coast this is a must for Dad. The man is a machine. He's a whopping 170lbs, 6'2". He may or may not have already had lunch/dinner, BUT rest assured he some how will find room for two cheeseburgers and a hot dog. Every. Single. Visit. It's a little disgusting yet can't say I'm not impressed! I tried the BBQ this past visit and I'm not a fan of mustard base. I was hungry, the taste was okay and I ate it all, but I would not go back for it and certainly nothing to write home about. I will say, for fast food the burgers do not look greasy compared to your typical burger place. Their milkshakes though this is what I splurge for on our stops since I was a kid. They are thick and delicious and have never been a disappointment! So there you go. On Wednesday July 10, 2019, I took my best friend who was visiting me to the Rush's located on Broad River Road. I was hoping the large cheeseburgers, tasteful fries and cookies and cream milkshake would leave a lasting impression on her. Unfortunately the only thing she will remember from that visit is a roach falling from our table onto my foot. She's incredibly intimidated by bugs... any bugs but especially roaches. We immediately stopped eating so I could share our experience with the manger. We were told that they had exterminated the previous day and that was happening since. I was at the Broad River Road location this evening at 8pm when two male employees were behind the counter. One male employee began hitting the other employee in the face repeatedly . I called the police to report the assault and notified the manager I had done so. She told me she was handling the situation and that I should not have done that. She would not give me her name and said she would not be talking to the police. The police did come, she did speak to them after she saw them talking with me. She came over and interrupted to let them know she had "handed" it. I hope this establishment realizes the severity of this situation and apathy/disrespect the manager showed a customer trying to do the right thing by reporting an assault. read more
