It took 7 months to complete a sunroom. Multiple errors on ordering, coupled with me catching them in flat lies on several occasions. They tried to paint some pieces of frame that were the wrong color. The paint peeled immediately. ( before they were even done) One window was installed backwards. No accountability, no quality control or responsibility accepted by sales people or people ordering/receiving but they certainly had a million excuses. The room I got is NOT what I contracted for. Two different colored metals used. Paid for a seat wall but the windows were installed in the center of the seat rendering it useless. You cannot trust anything they say. They don't show up when they say they will. No communication, they just take your money and then even when you beg them to keep you in the loop they don't. They just do not care. I had to hire a home inspector to evaluate the poor job. There was a long list of things he found when Russell Glass assured me they were done. They had forgotten to install trim kits around the doors or door sweeps, mind you they were ordered but not installed. They were at the warehouse but no communication they were for my job. I would not want anyone to go through the nightmare that we endured. The first time they started to install windows, none were the same size, some were installed sideways, none of them had the center brace in the same place. It was like they were giving me remnants from other jobs. Then to top it off there were not enough windows to even complete the room. The 2nd time they lost several windows so they came out again and remeasured and reordered them all over. The company was so short on funds that the installers did not have enough materials to complete jobs. Took 4 visits to just caulk as they never had enough caulk to complete my room. We finally had to contact a lawyer and sit down with the owner who was clueless. Not a company you want to do business with. Russell Glass did an excellent job on a window reglaze for a 4030 PW after first coming out to do a field measure and then returning about two weeks later with the new glass panel for replacement. Great crew with a Journeyman Glazier lead and Apprentice who exercised attention to detail to ensure proper installation from start down to cleaning the glass when finished, which doesn't always happens nowadays but undoubtedly Russell Glass believes in and practices level of customer service and quality work apparently like they always have. Great job, best price I found locally, and kudos for getting the best color match possible on PP2 glass that's no longer manufactured today. read more

Russell Glass installed the screened enclosed patio in 2008 and made minor repairs over the years. The threshold and door sweep needed repair because of wear. Adrian came to the house prepared to make the repairs and did a superb job. He listened to my concerns about problems encountered with the door and offered various solutions even demonstrating alternatives. The cost was reasonable. This company, Russel Glass, started my project in April. They ordered the wrong materials, obviously, as instead of French Doors, they installed four regular doors that do not fit, do not lock, do not close, have gaps in the frame, and are not made properly. My patio is not sealed and the bugs are able to enter at will. Their salesman informed me on June 1, that they had ordered the correct materials to complete the job. Today is July 18 and there has been nary a contact. Nothing has been caulked properly, they left dirt between the panels and many scratches and dings on what they did install. I would post zero stars if I could. Peter from Russell Glass & Mirror came out quickly to take measurements and gather a 50% deposit. Almost 11 weeks later it seems as though they are receiving the materials. The problem: 1. We had long enough to realize we really like our patio and don't want to use Russell Glass and would like the non-refundable refund back ($3100). Of course the materials are coming this week and cost "60% of the job and there is no way they can use our materials on another job." So - I am going to sell our material to a different company. If there is anyone who will buy screens and 4 part doors, please let me know. read more

STAY AWAY. Sloppy, incompetent, and everything took 3x longer and cost twice as much as they stated. Repair tech says he'll be there between 1-4 on a weekday. Calls to say he'll be closer to 4.... arrives at 5:30. Then they say they need more measurements, but can't come out for another week. When they do, the tech shows up with some other random guy that never spoke and didn't wear a uniform. Then I get a call they still didn't get everything and have to come back again... in another week... I called the service lady (who is very hard to understand) close to 20 times because they kept changing what they needed, timeline, price. Around 10 times into talking to the exact same person, she states, "Sir, we don't have an order for you in the system." What??? She transferred me to another person who said you're "this is the wrong department", transfers me back to the original lady, who apparently "missed" my order that we'd discussed over the phone together for weeks. This small, 2-week job to repair a sliding glass door has now dragged on for close to 6 weeks now. The glass still isn't ordered. They sent me a final quote.... literally 90% more than the first price. I told them that this was ridiculous, and when they didn't adjust the price, I asked "Why was I quoted this price to begin with?" The lady said "Um, give me a minute," then hung up on me. Maybe three hours later some new person called and left a voicemail "I'm with Russell glass, I was told to give you a call about the quote you received. Call me back at..." No apology for the delays, pricing problems, etc. I've wasted enough time with this unprofessional group and am going to Longhorn Glass. read more

I had these guys put in a frameless glass room divider, and it looks amazing. It was a big job needing 3 folks, the glass pieces were very large, some 9+ feet tall and 6 ft wide. I don't think there's many companies that could've done it. Much cheaper than the companies in Austin I got quotes from. Regardless of whether you go with these guys, make sure to at least get a quote from them. You could literally save thousands (I saved about $2K compared to the next cheapest quote I got). I wish I could've got an estimate over the phone. Also there was a tiny hairline scratch on one of the pieces but its not noticeable after I added some privacy film to the glass. That's definitely a thing to look out for. read more

Just got great advice from these folks. I called and asked them to come out and replace a glass window in a home I was getting ready to sell. She asked me a few questions like the age of the home and suggested I wait until after the inspection because they might find other windows with issues and I'd get a better deal if I did all the work at once. One guy was overheard asking his partner if they could make this visit quick. We were told that they did not have the glass on the truck and they were there only to provide an estimate. Very Disappointing! I called to make an appointment for a frameless shower quote and the lady I spoke was really nice. It went downhill from there. She told me they would be there between the hours 9am to 12pm. I asked her to have them call me before they showed up. 2 guys showed up at 9am without any warning, when I opened the door to greet them, they just came in the door. They did not even introduce themselves, they just asked me where shower was and started heading towards the bathroom. They took one look at the shower and told me they couldn't do anything because of marbled shower and that they would have to take apart the back wall to install it. Not even, hey let's measure it and see what we come up. It was a flat out, "you're screwed". Then they left, and I never did get their names. read more

They simply will not service their work. They don't come out and tell you it isn't warrant-able or anything like that. After talking to a neighbor, I located Russell Glass on the internet and asked them to call me re a screened-in patio. Peter called me rather quickly and said he was in the neighborhood and would be over to discuss our patio within an hour. He was very personable and we made arrangements for his company to carry out the screening. He said it would be 7-8 weeks which was fine with us and he also had to get a permit from Sun City before he installed in. About 3 days later, Russell Glass called and said they could install our screen that day if it was convenient for us. They were here by 10 and were totally finished by 2:30. I am extremely disappointed with Russell Glass. I went in with dimensions for new cabinet fronts. I gave the sweet lady behind the counter my written measurements. She said "you want the reeds to go up and down with the height of the cabinets, right?" We both made hand gestures up and down to confirm we were on the same page, here. I didn't put "tall" or "height" in my measurements I showed her. She typed them in with no "tall" or "wide" or "height". I saw it on the order. So the glass comes in and the reeded glass lines are horizontal across the cabinet height. I say "oh sh*t, you messed up." She agrees and apologizes for her mistake and says I'll reorder immediately. Ok, 5 big freakin'n stars so far, right? Here's the kicker: she calls today and says her supervisor will not eat this cost as it is a custom glass order. "No refunds" she says. We will split the cost of the order with you, she says. I say "Whaaa? I didn't screw up the order. I let you do that." She says maybe you can convince my supervisor to .... I hung up. Holy Mother of Retail Competency! I've known the Rutledge family for 30 years and have a hard time thinking they got here treating small orders like mine like crap. read more

Not been real pleased so far for simple glass replacement in our home. I have had to follow up to make sure glass is actually ordered and scheduled for installation. When glass did arrive it was measured incorrectly and had to be reordered causing another 7-10 day delay. Mistakes do happen but at least someone should have followed up and reordered the glass vs my having to call back to reorder the glass. Employees seem friendly but would probably shop around in the future. Will change my review if the company comes through and gets my replacement, replacement glass installed earlier than now anticipated. read more

Description Of Work: Installed an approximate 22 'x 14' aluminum structured solid roof cover for our back yard patio. Our home is one (1) year old. Cost of patio cover: $5,500. Construction went well, until the installation progressed to the point where the patio roof interfaced with the house roof. A "C" channel to support the patio solid roofing panels was attached to the house facia (existing guttering had been removed) incorrectly. Instead of placing it an inch or so BELOW the leading edge of the roofing so that rain water would drop down onto the patio roofing, it was installed at the extreme top of the facia, jammed it under the overhanging composition roofing. This resulted in the top of the patio roof panels being for all practical purposes, flush with the leading edge of the house composition roofing. This results in excessive work and costs should there be a cause to inspect/apply caulking for any further leaking. After the roofing was installed, a couple of days of rain produced leaking onto the patio floor. Per the home builder, the installation of the patio roofing was not in accordance with the IRC and that it also voided the builder's roofing 5 year warranty in part. The leaking was coming between the "C" channel and the facia OSB board - that a continuation of this leak would ultimately result in house structure failure according to the home builder and it should be corrected immediately. Russell Glass workers came out a couple of times in failed attempts to correct the problem, mostly applying an over abundance of caulking, truly showing a total lack of knowledge and professionalism. Their last failed attempt prompted them to call the owner of Russell Glass and have him come to our house to inspect their work. After Russell looked at the installation he told me that the installation was correct, that I should contact the home builder as the leak was caused by their poor roofing installation and that I should expect them to deny this. HOWEVER, as we sat on the patio talking eye to eye, Russell told me that he would not abandon us and that he had a roofer that could find the cause of the leak, but that all of the costs to fix it would be at my expense. Well, how's that for standing behind your work. Warranty? What warranty? And why didn't Russell use his roofer in the first place? While waiting for the home builder to inspect their work and Russell's work, I placed a phone call to Russell himself, his receptionist stating that he was busy but would return my call, which he never did. I also sent 2 e-mails over the course of several days, but I never received a reply - this is total abandonment of their work and responsibility leaving us in limbo and trying to determine how and who could get us out of the poor construction. Anyone who contemplates using Russell Glass for any of their work that consists of construction that involves roofing and its interfaces, should reconsider and seek another more reputable and knowledgeable contractor who will hopefully tell you the truth. I have advised other home owners of our experience and the incompetance of Russell Glass and have advised not to use them. I will also be posting this message on other media. read more

At 1:30 I called the office to inquire as the status and was told the person could not locate the address. No one called from the office to check the address. The scheduler informed me I would receive a call from the estimator when he would arrive. The office called back saying the estimator could not get through. Seems a communication within the office. I was ask to call the estimator, by that time it was raining and told he was uncomfortable on the roof in the condition which I agreed. Due to remodelling of my bathrooms, the huge (90s variety) mirrors had to be trimmed. Russell Glass did a wonderful job of trimming two massive mirrors for the bathrooms. I learned a valuable lesson here: If you are changing over from carpeting to wood flooring, keep a section of carpet for mirror or glass cutters to use as a base. I was happy that I was able to muster some old carpet so that it could be placed under the mirrors. After the trimming was done, we tossed the carpet so that the minute pieces of glass would not endanger anyone. I am happy with the lovely lady at the front desk and with the men who did a great job of trimming and re-installing my mirrors. I also ordered a small mirror to be cut to fit a small space and this was done promptly, perfectly and at a reasonable price. read more

They glassed in our covered back porch with fantastic big windows that open so we can enjoy the fall and spring breezes and a gorgeous sliding glass door to the existing lower level patio. They covered the lower patio with a lovely patio roof and screened it in. They added sliding screens instead of a door to give us access to a small remaining open patio area. They've also provided winterizing doors and screens for 12 month enjoyment. Their workmanship was excellent and Adrian did an outstanding job crafting our new rooms.
