The food is the best pizza around. Trust me when I say that I have tried EVERY pizza place in Somerset county. I'm not here to talk bad on other pizza places, I'm here to let y'all know Russo's is the truth. You guys know I'm not really a Glazer like I will call the food bad if it is. The service is quick, polite, and straight to the point. The ambience is comforting in a way that makes you feel like you're at a family gathering, but not a loud one. It's a quiet retreat with great food and good people. 8/2/25 - Pre-gamed at a local pizzeria called Russo's Pizza and Sub Shop. Although I love the ballpark, their food leaves much to be desired so I do recommend eating before you go. I had one plain and one Sicilian. The plain slice was pretty good. It's a neopolitan style pie which I grew up eating on Staten Island. The Sicilian slice was excellent. The crust was light and crispy and very flavorful. If you go, don't expect world-class dining. Its a hole-in-the-wall type restaurant. WOW, one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. Chunks of raw garlic, rock hard crust and where is the fresh cheese? Sauce thrown on with large pieces of tomato. PLEASE stop selling the grandma pie. I see many truck drivers stop in for "two slices to go" and they park their big trucks in the lot and run in and then go! Shows you all how good it is. We have also had their stuffed shells with garlic bread (no cheese) and meatballs and lasagna meals! Their green salads are excellent too! We used to live in upstate NY and moved to TX. They always said it was the water that gave easy coast pizza it's chewiness and taste. We haven't been able to find ant good pizza in TX, so we were excited to have a pie back here during our visit. This is our first time at Russo's. The crust is just the perfect chewy, crispness and the pieces were huge. I wanted to eat more but it was so filing. Maybe they'll open a location in the Dallas area. Fingers crossed. read more

The table cloths are unique and what you might find at a small, family restaurant. The plain slice has a crispy base, greasy cheese, and a crunchy crust. We were recommended to try Russo's by a family member who said it served the best Grandma pizza around- just yesterday we had some from a pizzeria in NY Devino - it was excellent and prior to that we only had it from Alphonsos in Somerville also excellent ( sadly the pizza maker there is no longer there) so ok let's try Russo...... Never again - grandma pizza should have sauce- mozzarella and fresh basil- ours had way too much sauce little mozzarella- NO fresh basil and was loaded with garlic- so much that we had four slices and the rest is in the garbage - thank gosh I don't have to go to work tomorrow as I'm sure the garlic would offend my co workers read more

My boyfriend and I recently moved to Bound Brook and we have been frantically looking for good pizza as it is his favorite food. We tried Franks around the corner that was highly rated but were not impressed. Moving from Hillsborough,NJ where Italian is #1, we also many just be hard to impress. We stumbled on Russo's and were very satisfied. Although the tiny sort of run down strip mall it is buried in is hard to miss, we made it from our apartment in about 5 minutes. We felt very welcome. This shop is definitely family run which makes it so much more authentic than other shops in the area. Especially since other shops in the area usually do not have actual Italians working the shop. One girl who was on her way to a sporting event was talking to her father who was behind the counter and you could tell that everyone in the back were either close friends or family.. Love it. They had our pizza and calzone ready in 20 min. The lady behind the counter checked our order to make sure it was correct which is something I hardly ever see. I really appreciated this. The food was amazing. The sausage was delicous, the sauce was a perfect blend of savory and sweet, and the calzone was as large as my upper torso. We will def be coming back. I only give it 4 stars because the shop could be a better kept. It seems very old and very tight seating if we were to dine in. read more

Glutinous one here.... Yes, been on a self proscribed sabbatical for some time, after being pissy about some review websites policies.... name rhymes with Help. OK, back to the matter at hand. Russo's.... Acceptable, but not the greatest I have had...and lets apply some caveats: I ordered in advance for take out...not a way to judge a pie. I forgot to tell them well done - not a way to judge a skinny crust pie. So, taking some of my method out of the formula means I will have to add to this review at a later time when I do a proper eat-in pizza. My bad, we were rushing to a ballgame where my fidget was walking the warning track with the local little league...hey, gotta have priorities, right? Soooooo...... They make a decent skinny pie, which, had a very neutral crust, not too sweet, not salty. I think it will be quite good when eaten out of the oven. The sauce was a little bland, and IMO, a little too much on the pie, and hair too much cheese. Of course this will appeal to others, but I, being the pizza snob who insists the Star Tavern Pizza is the finest available, think it wasnt quite the same caliber.. I have to say pricing was peachy, large pie and 3 cokes were under 20 bucks. Parking out front is spartan, which seemed a pain at dinner our, but ample space was around the back. This place i believe was not part of the Russo's food chain down south as we thought. It looks just a little bit different on the inside and the menu was different. We ordered a small pepperoni with mushrooms and two drinks to go along. The pizza came out at a decent time and we didn't have to wait long. We got orange crush from the drink dispenser and it seemed flat in flavor. This could have been just a at the wrong place and wrong time. I'm giving it three stars because it wasn't what i was expecting for a pizza place with good reviews. The pizza lacked flavor for me in every aspect of what i'm use to. The pepperoni did not have enough spice to it, the mushrooms looked like they came out of a can and the cheese was just ok. The tomato sauce had the most flavor.
