There has been big changes in their Reach magazine coupons. Changed from free 1-hr bowling to 30 min., to free laser tag, and to free putt-putt. I think I bowled one of my highest of 157 this past exercise trip. I was welcomed by a group to play laser tag; I improved but still did the worst on my team. I think this was the most interesting Putt-Putt Black Beard with inclines, puddle of water, and skeeball ending! To wait for the sun the go down, I played in the arcade. I asked to play against a kid the basketball connect 4, which was challenging and fun with 30 tickets for the loser and 75 for the winner. Can you guess who won? Have been going to Royal Pin/Woodland for years! Since my parents used to take me for birthdays and holidays. Have always had a great time! Love to see that they've always kept up with all the lanes and updated the technology, TVs, seats, you name it. It's always looked brand new in there. The food is surprisingly good for a bowling alley also! It's been a while since I've done the laser tag or mini golf but I'd be surprised if those didn't match the high quality standards, considering how well they keep up with everything on the bowling side. The rainy day thwarted my family's mini golf plans, but luckily we were able to reserve two lanes at Royal Pin right next to the golf course! We rented the space for 1.5 hours, which was enough time for 9 people to get through 2 full 10-frame games and 1 5-frame game. The sitting area behind our lanes each had a big couch and coffee table, plus a counter/barstool setup. There was enough room for everyone to sit comfortably and relax between games. We ordered breadsticks to share, and they must've been delicious because they were all gone before I even got to take a photo! I ordered a water, and water cups are .50 each, which I thought was a little weird. I have never been anywhere where I had to pay for water! Royal Pin also offers a large selection of Pepsi products, including my current obsession--Diet Dr. Pepper. You can order food at the counter, the kiosks outside the restaurant, or right from your lane on the screen! Laser tag is $4/12 minutes of play, and a group of 6 of us had a blast--12 minutes is enough to get a couple games in! The staff member running the laser tag was very kind and helpful. My only reasons for docking a star: 1) The bowling shoes are very poor quality--the shoelaces were frayed and the soles were rubbing off on my pair. 2) Both lanes had problems with the pins not resetting and the scores "freezing". read more

This bowling alley is HUGE! It has to be the biggest in Indy. We went because we wanted something fun to do on a Saturday afternoon. I was expecting to have to wait for a lane, but we walked right in. They've got cheap pitchers of beer (and a bigger discount when it's a refill). They've got tons of space for kids birthday parties and room at the bar too. Their machines worked really well even though everything was automated. A lot of alleys will have problem after problem where you have to call over staff, but here everything went smoothly the whole time! read more

We have been visiting this bowling alley for about a year since moving to this side of town. We have fun, and it's clean, and we never have issues with crowds. Lazertag is a must-do; its fun and a good way to beat strangers in a game. I do not like that they charge for ice water, and you have to find someone who manually can ring it in for you since they Want you to use the kiosk. The ladies who work the bars are very nice and friendly and will always try making different drinks for you. They need to replace some balls, there are some in really bad shape. We have done a few of these events and had fun. The bathrooms are generally clean and the seating areas are clean also. Whoever runs the league or in charge, especially for the Thursday night is an absolute lair. We were called and told we had a spot for league. We go to the meeting amd now told the new girl called the wrong list. If you knew she called the wrong list you should have immediately called and told them there was an error, not wait three weeks at the league meeting to tell us we do not have a spot. People changed worked schedules and spent money to get prepared for this night of fun. Also, you just broke the hearts of 3 brand new bowlers who this was going to be their first time bowling in league. Now they do not won't to even bowl anymore. Yep it's me! We ended up here with myself daughters dance team and I can honestly say; they had a blast! According to her coach the set up was real easy, she went online and reserved 3 lanes. Because Of Covid we had our 3 lanes but ended up in every other lane; not big deal at all but we felt bad bc it seemed they could've possibly had one extra lane had we been able to share a 2 lane area (if you've been there it makes sense). The food court area could've been a smidge better. One of the parents had to take our pitcher of sprite back (it tasted like alma seltzer) and the guy didn't say ONE word to her, and his mask was UNDER his chin......not cool! And he could've at least apologized for the sprite not being sprite. I guess he felt he was doing us a solid by not speaking since his mask was down. I will say when I went up there later everyone was fully masked (including the employee who didn't speak to the other parent). I will definitely be back! Woodland Bowl is in an odd location as it's surrounded by car dealerships.... it's a pretty nice place tho. My first time there was for a Best Buddy event sponsored by Butler College. I went for bowling at Royal Pin Woodland on a Saturday afternoon. First of all, finding this place could be a little bit of a struggle if this is your first time; the reason is road work around that area and how navigation may not be very accurate. Ample parking so that's a plus! On entering, I was pleasant surprised by how huge this place is - 70 lanes for bowling, laser tag, arcade games, a cafe, 2 bars and plenty of high top and regular tables. There were 3 birthday parties happening at the time I was there. They have two rates for bowling - by hour and by games; shoe rental separate. There is a screen at each lane to place food order or ask for help. The cafe seemed to have a diverse menu and I could see why this place is popular for kids' birthday parties! It started going downhill at our arrival. Diana was extremely rude and short in her responses. We called earlier in the day and they told us it was a 2 hour wait for a late. We got here a little after 9 pm and Diana very rudely told us that she refused to be put on the waitlist. She also states people have been waiting more that 2 hours for a lane and we could not get a late. This was very frustrating because on the phone they said we could get on the waiting list once we got there. I've only experienced the bowling here and it was amazing! We went on their special night where we were able to have shoe rental and two games for $5.75 total. I thought this was an amazing deal and apparently so did everyone else! It was packed when we got there. They have a bowling league and it opens back up to the public at 930pm. we had a large party and actually needed two lanes but due to limited lanes we had to all squeeze on one lane. So overall the experience here was pretty stressful. Apparently everyone in indiana loves to bowl so we got there right at 9 when the leagues were over and the line was like out the door. We stood in line for 30 minutes just to put our name in and they said the wait was going to be 2.5 hours. We decided to see if that was true so we went to the bar to get a drink which took an additional 30 minutes and then we finally were able to bowl after another 30 minutes. Look, bowling is fun! Try it! I was in a league for 7 years when I went back to work in 2010. Having just retired this summer, I found this league is still going with many of the same people! The league itself is called "Christ The King Ladies Bowling League" on Tuesday mornings at 9:00. $13 for 3 games league play, September til March. There are only a few openings - act fast if you're interested! You do not have to belong to this church (most of us do not!). Ever had two quarters laying around? Make sure you bring them here for the tap water. We asked for water after laser tag and were told that we had to pay $0.54 for a plastic cup full of ice with no straw. We're still not exactly sure why that happened. We did, however, smoke some rude little middle school kids in laser tag. The canons also weren't working on the last hole of the mini golf course. Overall dissapointing.
