Today my wife and I went in for dinner at 7 pm and we were the only ones there. Our server was horrible. If it wasn't for my wife, I was ready to get up and leave. We've come here a few times and have had a good experience but today was just ugh. At best she deserved maybe 5% gratuity for brining our plates. Service was mainly non existent. We ordered the Causa de Pollo which was not edible so we returned it. The potato's were so dry that it fell apart like sand. My wife had the Lomo Saltado and the fries in the entree were not good. I had the Aji de Gallina which was ok. The portion was laughable. Seems like the portions have gotten smaller since we last came. I don't see us coming back when there are 5 Peruvian restaurants in a 3-4 mile radius that offer great food & service and are transparent with gratuity. Don't try to be slick by adding gratuity and not itemizing it, then asking for more tip. Maybe provide better service would be my tip. read more

Taste of Peru is here now. We've been to their other locations but this one is pretty bad. The service was horrible. Had to ask for silverware and napkins well after our initial entrees came out. We were a large party. The first entree came out literally 30 minutes before the last. The majority of our party was Peruvian and I eat it often. It simply wasn't very good. I have been coming here for quite some time and I usually get their 1/4 chicken and I substitute the salad for rice. I also always ask for a side of Peruvian hot sauce since I like to dip my French fries in the sauce mix. I think the price is not bad for the portion that they give you, I leave pretty satisfied afterwards. Ambiance is very casual, they have TVs all over and are always playing music, sometimes it is a little too loud in my opinion. Servers usually greet me right away and food comes out in decent time. I always love having the opportunity to learn new things about international cuisines and this restaurant provided a great one. With the recommendations of the waitress, tried the lomo saltado and cevidche he pescados y camarones. Took to reading wikipedia about the history of the lomo saltado while enjoying it, learning that it was invented in Peru by mixing ingredients and techniques brought over by Chinese immigrants with existing Spanish cuisine. I never would've guessed this background but one taste was enough to make the connection. No wonder the flavors resemble that of asian stir-fries with soy sauce, vinegar, and garlic. Overall it was very flavorful with tender meat but the sauce was a bit on the salty side, even with the side of rice. I guess one could avoid some of the salt by skipping the fries, even through that is the traditional way of eating it. Peruvian style rotisserie chicken (or Pollo a la Brasa) is very dependent on the right sauces that come with it. It really needs to complement the flavor of the chicken, which is already swimming in several spices. Rustica really delivers in this aspect, providing a minty sauce and a straightforward cumin based hot sauce, both really satisfying. The rotisserie chicken is very good also, you can tell it is actually rotisserie because the chicken is moist while the skin is blackened. A very nice contrast, and not many restaurants get it right. Fries are normal fries, and the salad is pretty average/pedestrian. The chicha morada (purple corn drink) is really delicious. This place delivers on that point also. Rustica is a big score in many aspects: chicken, sauces and chicha. Ask no more. I had an alfajor which was OK, nothing special. I also scored some Peruvian items, so this place is a repeat for me, in the future. Very pleased to have come this way. Service is good and friendly, location is isolate but the space is warm and inviting, actually, it feels that once you visit a Pollo a la Brasa place, you've seen them all! Oh! This place is a hidden gem. The food quality and taste is excellent. Prices are very reasonable and lower than most Peruvian locations in the area. Portion sizes are big, service is friendly, they have a lunch menu and different specials thru out the week. I did not take a picture of my alfajor (dessert made of two cookies and dulce de leche) but it brought me back memories of my childhood. I recommend this place to everyone. read more

Very seldom do I give a great review. But let's start my journey here. First, I had almost given up on quality service and the touch of empathy a waitress should have for the guests. We were curious and hopeful to find great green sauce and chicken as well as authentic Peruvian food. Our waitress brightens the whole outlook that post-Covid service can be super good again and a return to quality is possible in restaurants beyond check-the-box service you see so much now in the sit down casual dining restaurants. We ordered ceviche and politely were told the method but knowing Peruvian cuisine we were delighted to hear it was going to be authentic My wife had skirt steak sautéed etc and ate everything. I got a quarter of chicken and was thrilled the tastes of their sauces. Really happy to finally try here and cannot wait to go again. We spent the day at Gatorland and saw this place across the street. We haven't had Peruvian before so we gave it a shot. Sadly, we weren't able to get half chickens, their specialty, as they were out by 6:00 and could only give us each a quarter. It ended up being a small breast with a wing attached. The whole piece was only the size of a chicken breast you might get from a chicken chain or publix. It was delicious, so we were just disappointed at the size. It came with a side salad and fries, as well as two dipping sauces that were fantastic. We also had the peruvian equivalent of ceviche. Let me tell you, this was FRESH. It was really good. The sauce was a bit overwhelming for our tastebuds, very limey, but we liked it and finished it, even though I don't think we would get it again. It didn't help that we were full from the meal when we had to finish it. It was an appetizer but came late. Had it been the first thing we ate, I think we could have enjoyed it no problem. The servers were kind. We had different fresh juices that really added to the meal. It was a favorable experience and reasonably priced. I've been wanting to try this place for a couple of months now after eating at Taste of Peru. I think they might have the same owners because they play each other's commercials in their restaurant. Anywho, that's how I found out about this place. So, I finally got here! Rustica's is located right across from Gatorland so it was easy to find. The night my friend and I visited, there was ample parking and seating (we went on a Tuesday night.) We were greeted immediately by a friendly woman behind the counter who also turned out to be our server. I think she was the only one working that night but she had no problem taking care of everyone's needs ... you go girl! We started with the Ceviche Shot which I thought was pretty good but a little too thick for my liking. My friend didn't want it because it was like "fish pudding." So, I ate most of and got used to the texture. I've had better but this was good and tasted fresh. For my entree, I ordered Churrasco a Lo Pobre, an Angus skirt steak that comes with rice, french fries and sweet plantains, topped with a fried egg. I opted for tostones instead of rice and was a great decision because those tostones were delicious. It was all very good but the fried plantains were absolute PERFECTION. My friend ordered the Churrasco Encebollado which was also Angus skirt steak with rice, onions and tomato. The flavor was different than the Lo Pobre and we ended up swapping steaks because we liked what the other one had better. However, I like my meal combo much more and they were the same price. Dang man, this place was SO GOOD! Enough to make my heart break that it's local, and not local to me. When my husband and I came in, we were the only whities in the place, so I knew it had to be legit. We ordered the full chicken, some kind of spaghetti noodle w creamy pesto sauce (from the sides menu and I believe it had verde in the title), and the sweet plantains. Our rotisserie chicken came out with bad/old fried rice. it smelled bad. we asked for regular white rice and the chef wanted to make it up, making another one. He did and the taste was off, ( this makes me doubt if he is really peruvian) besides that the chicken was too well done on the outside , hard to even bite in some parts. LOMO SALTADO'sauce was also on the salty side. I mean I know it's made with soy sauce but someone out a bit too much extra salt in it. Really good Peruvian food in Kissimmee! This definitely competes with a place similar to its style on Orange Ave and Gaitlin. Expect large portions in whatever you order. I appreciate the small appetizer sized ceviche, aside from a full portioned option. The chicken was the typical soft, fall off the bone type meat with an abundance of fries, rice and salad. I've had a better Lomo Saltado elsewhere, but nothing a little salt and extra veggies couldn't have fixed. I need to come back and try their Churrasco a lo Pobre, as I feel like no Peruvian place has failed me on that dish. Save your $$$$ and stop by here right after Gatorland! read more

RIght next to Gatorland so the perfect spot to get some proper food before you go inside the amusement park with its limited food options. This place was a little disappointing- the chicken was actually a bit dry and the waitress' recommended basil pesto seemed like a microwave dinner quality. Would also recommend getting anything other than the salad, which felt like it came out of a Costco package. Not sure if we ordered the wrong items, so giving this place the benefit of the doubt. Would recommend going somewhere else if you're planning on visiting Gatorland immediately after. The staff were really nice though, the redeeming quality to this place, hence the 4 stars even though the place felt more like a 3 star place. read more

This place is new to the area. The owner also owns A Taste of Peru on OBT. It's not fancy inside. Service was friendly and prompt. I had the Tallarin Verde con Churrasco. I order my meat medium, but it came out well. It was flavorful but very salty. The pasta was a nice balance to all the salt on the Churrasco. The price was a bit high 20.64 with tip for the size of the plate. I would try this place again to see what the other traditional dishes are like. read more

We passed by today and saw a guy in a chicken costume dancing on the street out front. Never to miss the opportunity to have fun, I pulled a quick u-turn just to get a picture with the chicken. The chicken suit guy invited us to check out the restaurant. We met another family coming out and asked how they liked the food, they responded, "It was delicious!" With such a hearty recommendation we stepped inside to a bright, fresh, clean storefront restaurant with about a dozen tables and booths. We were greeted cheerfully by one of the two servers on duty and picked a nice booth. Our server brought a small bowl of fresh corn-nuts with a a greenish spicy sauce on the side. I suppose this is the Peruvian version of a "bread service ". I have tried packaged corn-nuts years ago and I did not like them. Maybe it was the freshness of the corn-nuts here that made them so tasty. The Ceviche Shot from the appetizer listings is BIG. Between my wife and I we could not finish this appetizer. I really enjoyed the pucker from the citrus juices along with the brightness of the cilantro. I enjoyed a Peruvian version of Chicken-Fried Rice called "Chaufa fe Pollo" that rivals the best fried rice that I have eaten anywhere. It was just a tad too salty which is the reason for the four stars. I found out after my meal that they offer the same dish with a mixture of chicken and shrimp; I wish I had gotten that combination. My wife had a dish named "Picante de Mariscos - a seafood mix sauteed with spicy, rich creamy sauce served with white rice." This dish featured shrimp, mussels, squid and octopus. I had a few bites of her meal and it was very good. We took about 1/3 of each meal and 1/2 of the Ceviche home with us. There was no room for dessert. We will absolutely return to Rustica's to try some of the other menu items like Churrasco Encebollado, Chaufa Carne, Tallarin Verde con Pechuga al Grill, Jalea, and Ceviche Camerones. I popped in this place after Title Boxing and before Luxurie Beauty Bar which are all on the same road. Luxurie Beauty Bar is actually directly next to it (signage says indigo tho). I always order appetizers instead of entrees to control portion size. I got the ceviche mixto- the whitefish was very fresh. There was at least 4 oz. of solid protein so I couldn't finish it. It had a hint of spiciness. I also ordered the shrimp sandwiched between mashed potatoes appetizer and holy hell. It was amazing! Pic uploaded. It was cold, there was a brilliant creamy sauce that made it taste even better. It was a simple dish, I got the full effect and flavor of the mashed potatoes and the shrimp with this delicious cream sauce that didn't over power the flavor of the natural ingredients. I was very impressed. No alcohol is served here I think so I just got water (avoiding sugar). The waitress was bilingual. To be honest, everything on the menu looked amazing- this is truly an authentic place. Located right across from gatorland for those interested in that :/ There are three tv screens that play a mix of folk, native, and reggaeton music videos. It took me a little bit of time to flag down the waitress when I wanted to pay the check. She was taking orders, mopping, and doing other tasks. Parking lot is a bit small and luckily someone was leaving as I got in other wise I would've had to wait for a space.
