Originally I thought I had a really good experience purchasing my 4 runner. I purchased it on the 22nd. However, today I found out my experience was not at all what I thought. When I went to them originally it was because my husband had a good experience there purchasing his truck and our dog had just passed unexpected and I could not see myself driving my jeep anymore without her. When we were there everything seemed good, except we had to negotiate a little over the trade in of my jeep. They finally agreed to give a little more and I was excited. That day I left with my new vehicle. Today I called the place I had the loan with for my jeep because my loan payment for it had drafted out of my account and I wanted to find out what to do because I hadn't had the jeep for a week and a half. Needless to say they informed me the dealership had called 4 times for pay off amounts since my purchase date and did not send them a pay off till after that payment came out of my account. Which happens to be the amount we had been negotiating. This disgusts me. What if I was counting on that money for living expenses or to pay for final expenses for my dog. I feel like they did that so they could get the numbers they wanted and did not care about screwing me over. I'm giving my story in hopes that no one else will have this horrible experience. It's really sad that a large dealership that makes tons of money would have to scam someone out of a car payment amount to make them feel better about their deal. read more

In a little over 1 year I was told that my transmission was acting up because I needed new catalytic converters. So I replaced them. Then the dealership told me I needed a new transmission. So I replaced it, then a year later I was told the catalytic converters were out with less than 20,000 miles on them. So they were replaced again under warranty. Then I was told the transmission was bad again. It was replaced under the warranty of the company that supplied the transmission. But only after having my vehicle for almost 3 months. What was frustrating was I was told by the service shop that things were happening. Only to find out that the things they said were being done, had never been done. Things like sampling the transmission fluid I was told it was gonna be done early in the month. I called back two weeks later to find out that it had never been done. We had been waiting for fluid test from the supplier, only they had never been sent. There's a lack of communication with the customer. I was then told I need to pay to have the fluid test done in case it was not the transmission. Ok, why would you tell me its the transmission and then tell me you are thinking it might not be? My Yukon is only 8 years old. Another issue, we need this vehicle to pick our 3 kids up at the Airport with there luggage at the same time. This is also the first time all three had been together in over a year because they are in the military serving all over the country. We hoped to have some family time for the car ride back, but no. The 2 1/2 months Drewing had the vehicle before, I ask for a loaner, just to pick them up. Was told we can probably make it work. We'll no call back to confirm and all the rental car company's are sold out for Christmas travel. It seems the name has changed, but the service is still the same. I have often wondered why people drive out of Jefferson City to get their vehicles from other dealers. And Rusty Drewing is the reason why I will not buy a GMC or a BMW from his dealerships. Just call the service department and ask how long to schedule an oil change or vehicle service. Simply go somewhere else for a vehicle. read more

Fantastic Service Department. I was visiting my hometown near Jeff City for a funeral and on my way back home (a 400 mile drive) on a Friday when I noticed a very concerning noise and a wobble with my 10 year old Subaru Forester . A local mechanic put the car on the rack and told me I needed a new right front lower control arm but sorry he'd have to order it and couldn't install it till Monday. Asking around, my cousin told me about Rusty Drewing Toyota. I got there around noon and spoke to Bob Roling, my service advisor. He assured me that they could get the part and install it that day and get me on the way by 4:30 pm and they did. Having to hang around for a few hours I got to appreciate the amenities of coffee, ice cream and popcorn in their spacious waiting area. I also spent some time with an knowledgeable salesman test driving a Camry. As I drove 8 hours in the rain to get home that night I was very thankful to Rusty Toyota for having a safe-driving vehicle. read more

What a great dealership! After being mislead at another local dealership (drove 2 hours to get to this one, rhymes with tow), I called to see if another vehicle was still available. To my luck, Brandon with Rusty Drewing Toyota answered and was nothing but exceptional during our visit! He quickly got me a response and made sure the vehicle was ready as I was pulling in. We ended up driving this vehicle home that same day because of Brandon and his excellent customer service and overall great experience at this dealership! Usually you get the overly sales pitched, on top of you, annoying and usually somewhat dishonest sales person at a car dealership, not at Rusty's! You will be treated like family! Offered, drinks, snacks, a play area for kids and down right honest conversations, where you know you get a fair trade, and a quality vehicle at a price you can achieve! Brandon did nothing but process this deal quickly (which I appreciated with two young kids under five and the hubby not with me that day), honestly and openly tell me about pricing and financing options, offered us a great vehicle and made it an easy process! He even has the best marketing, leaving you lots of his fun stickers so you know who to call and who to refer, which I have been doing since buying from Brandon at Rusty's! Our finance associate was also FANTASTIC! He was quick and kind in explaining details and options and made the process easy too! To top it off, during that time, they offered our family a trip to their "candy store and ice cream" at the dealership, helping to keep my kiddos and myself happy during a process that does take a little time. I love my RAV4 and have had good experience at other Toyota locations but this was a disappointment. The blower on my AC was making horrible noises and called my insurance to have it serviced under our extended warranty through them. They send me to Riley and I was immediately treated like an idiot because "that isn't something insurance does". Eventually they were able to ask around the dealership and decipher that my insurance had called earlier that day to confirm the parts were in inventory. They were nicer after that. The next day they call to let me know that it was a clogged blower due to wildlife. They were able to clear it without issue but it wouldn't fall under warranty. The guy kept raising his voice to emphasize that it wasn't under warranty like three times. I got it, I heard you. That's fine. I get back to the dealership and the same guy from the day before checks me out. He kept saying how he never heard of a warranty through his insurance in the worst non-apology I have ever received. I get my vehicle and no seat covers were used by the staff, and the contents from the blower/filter that clogged it were just tossed in the floorboard of my car. The whole experience was as passive aggressive as it could get. I am in the market for a new vehicle but with this being my local Toyota I am second guessing what I am getting. read more

Got a few issues with the car i bought from them, Got an estimate from a local dealership for $1800, but got it fixed for $800 by a local mechanic. I thought the Riley dealership would help me with the repairs since I complained about these repairs in the first week I bought the car, but they straight away declined any help. So, get a mechanic always check the car you are about to buy. read more

We had previously taken the car to Hendricks Toyota in Merriam Kansas and was told we just needed new tires. The sound was deafening, even with new tires in place. After 150 miles we pulled in to Riley Toyota and begged the service technician to make it stop! 15 minutes later we had a diagnosis and a cure! The part was ordered. I'm a very satisfied customer after buying my car from Kevin Green at Riley's a few weeks back. Kevin was so easy to work with, spent a lot of time informing me about all of the features on the vehicle and took me on a very bumpy road to show the reliability of the new shocks that were just installed. Gemma in the business office was also very easy to work with and personable. I've been shopping for a car for over a month and am very picky. I've dealt with many car salespeople and Kevin was far and away the least pushy and most personable. This factored into our decision as well. read more

We have been loyal Riley customers since we moved to MO in 1999. Have bought 2 cars from them and have had all our service done with them as well. Since they moved to their new location things have gone downhill. Apparently the service dept. works on commissions and every visit includes an upsale. We just don't trust them anymore. read more

RILEY TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT NOT RECOMMENDED I was new to the area and took my 4Runner in for 90K+ service. The service department Rep lacked on customer greeting skills and was borderline rude. I had the 90K+ service done on the 4 Runner for a whopping $1400+ bill. They flushed my brake lines and coolant fluid. Less than a week later, I had to my vehicle inspected for a new tag, and the inspection station informed me that my front brake pads were down to less than 25%---a point that should have been made to me after I paid for a $1400 service at Riley Toyota ' s Service Department. I called and spoke with Riley Toyota ' s Service Department about my dissatisfaction of my 4Runner ' s service, and I received the apology and was told I would receive a call from the manager to "make things right". That was JUN '14, four months ago. No call...so I do not plan on going back to this establishment! read more

Had a cracked radiator plastic part and needed vehicle running ASAP. Parts manager Paul S. was extremely helpful to identify the part I needed, rushed to order it, and had it ready for pickup the next day at 7 am. When I picked it up he told me how much antifreeze I would need to get the RAV4 up and running. Part cost 30 something, which is allot lower than what I expected from a dealership. The service at Riley Toyota is exceptional. The dealership and service area is extremely clean. They get you in very quickly. Cost of full service oil change is reasonable. They have always treated us well with good prices on tires and even gave us a new tire when a plug leaked after repairing a hole from a screw in the road. I purchased a pre-owned Hyundai from Riley Toyota on 6/28/15 and was lied to regarding the warranty on the vehicle & the previous ownership (when I called them on this I was basically told I should've caught the deception in the paperwork). I was told multiple times at the time of purchase the vehicle was under the factory's 100,00 mile/10 year warranty (not true, the warranty does not follow the vehicle). I was also told it only had one previous owner & that was an individual. The transmission started acting up about 5 months later so I took to the local Hyundai dealer. They were easily able to tell me it is NOT under warranty as the warranty doesn't follow the vehicle. They were also able to tell me that ONE of the previous owners was AVIS Car Rental. I would NEVER buy a rental vehicle. Also, the night of purchase the check engine light came on. I immediately called the dealer to report the issue & stated I was dropping the vehicle off. The person seemed annoyed I would assume they would fix the issue and stated that the paperwork was signed but they'd go ahead & look at the problem (like they were doing me a favor). They did fix it but when I got my vehicle back it had been used over that weekend (dog hair in the back seat & concrete dust in the back; I don't own a dog & only had the vehicle for about 3 hrs before the check engine light came on). Just to throw it out there; after the paperwork was signed I said I'd take my spare key, they could fill up the tank & I'd be on my way. I was told that neither a spare key nor a full tank was in the paperwork & since I had signed already there was "nothing" he could do. read more

I took my Tacoma to get the frame replaced under Toyota's frame replacement warranty and other work that needed to be done. The person I talked to guaranteed that they will not do work without my approval first. They aligned my truck after the frame replacement with a shock with a rusted mounting point. Who does that? My truck was sitting crooked. So I had to buy brand new Toyota Bilstein shocks, have them install them, and align again. Extra alignment was not needed if they just call me first and have me come over to check the truck out. After I got the truck back, I noticed the huge chunks of clear coat on my hood start peeling. They tried to tell me it's because I left the truck there a month caused that. I park my truck outside since I owned it and never had problems for 7 years and one month there my clear coat is chipping? So I wanted them to fix that and they are charge me another $500 to fix that. It was clearly your technicians touched my hood with corrosive chemicals caused it. They also did a half-ass job and didn't tighten everything back on when my parking brake cable came off while I was driving. So I went through my truck to make sure everything is tightened. I also noticed my odometer mileage increased by 60+ miles so obviously they took my truck for joyrides. I direct my business to Machen's from now on. Don't let them work on your vehicle. read more
