My experience with Foster Transmission and Repair was very unsatisfactory. Two years and 15,000…read moremiles ago Foster Transmission & Repair rebuilt the transmission on my truck. I approached Richard Foster about an issue with my ability to shift gears smoothly as I had been able to do immediately after he did the repair work. I drove in from St. Louis (95 miles) to discuss the issue and the first thing he did was point to the 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty clause on his invoice and informed me that I was outside the warranty and he wouldn't cover the cost of any repairs. I argued that my first transmission lasted over 203,000 miles and I was already having issues after only 15,000 miles since he worked on my transmission. Richard than stated that the problem must be the clutch master cylinder (a $65 part) but he refused to do any testing or problem solving. When I suggested that I would take the matter to court he became very irate and told me that I did not matter to him and to leave the premises. His wife then called the police. Maybe he thought since I lived in St. Louis he could get away with his unprofessionalism, but he clearly doesn't stand behind his work.
