Re-packaged into your fave casinos on the strip; a few names were dropped and now I have to go find them! You can find these at the OC Fair marketplace every weekend however. 3 bags for $5. Tortilla & standard uber crisp potato. We've made trips to the marketplace JUST to get these. He's located right by the produce area. Style: Hawaiian style chips - thicker and crunchier (and a bit greasier due to the longer cooking time for the thicker cut) than usual. I'm not a fan of it. Our "fish guy" told us this was the best chips, so I tried. Price: Extremely expensive for what it is. 3 oz chips for $2.50-2.75 (as the owner corrected it). $4 was what I was told. But even my fish man said it was so expensive. Honestly it's way overpriced. I expected a lot more for this price. Places to get: the shop or gourmet/fancy grocery markets. Taste & crunchiness : It is good but not crazy different from other chips in terms of taste. The biggest and only difference is how hard/crunchy it is. I don't recommend it for elderly people nor people whose mouth is small like me. It's the hardest and whopping jaw killing chips I've ever had in my life. My jaw hurts while writing this review... They're thick and crunchy and they taste like they were made from ACTUAL potatoes and not just a fried, salted wafer of starch. They're incentive enough to take care of your grill. I had my first bag with lime and tapatio and a beer to go with it. Maybe it was the light beer buzz I had going; maybe it was the sun gently caressing my face on beautiful Orange County summer day; maybe it was shooting the breeze with some really good friends while we went bargain hunting on a weekend, but these chips were utterly sublime. Up through now, I still haven't received a response from Rusty's. or any of their reps. I did however, find a store that sells their chips locally - at a Nugget Market - not in their chips aisle, but in their deli section. Review of the Product Itself The potato chips themselves deserve a solid 5. In the kettle chip or Hawaiian categories, these chips are now my personal current favorite. It seems that they go organic as they can with cooking their chips. No cleaning to whiten the chips seems to have yielded a slightly thicker, tooth-breaking crunch to them. The appearance is darker/dirtier, but a better, thicker chip than the names of Kettle and Tim's. Drop the rest, these are the ones to get. $2.79 per 3 oz. bag seemed a little bit steep, but well worth it. Whatever's going on with Rusty's and their non-response, up yours. I found them at Haggens where in Laguna Niguel, I had bags of the other brand of chips in my cart. The dude at the deli counter told me these are way better than those. He's 100% spot on!!! The chips themselves are insanely good. Like... almost too insanely good. Each chip is like a mini meal or 5 chips in one. Just 3 or so and you feel so satisfied that you can save the rest for later. That's one of the things that sells it for me, because these chips are also crazy expensive. On the Rusty's site the cheapest price is $3 a bag and you have to buy 24. If you buy 12 its $3.25 You can find them cheaper occasionally but its very hard to find them, especially here on the east coast. When you buy other brands of chips at your local store next time, look to see what bags are clear. Oh i forgot to say that the other store chips are half filled with air. The Best Chips Ever, Period!!!! I discovered Rusty's while at the OC Swap Meet years ago. Honestly, I wish I had never discovered these chips, because I can't stop eating them! I'm not kidding. If you have an addictive personality and love chips, do not eat these chips! They are addictive as heck, but worth it! I literally clean the shelf of Rusty's at my local Albertson's every time I go shopping.
