    Potato Chips and tortilla chips
    Akiko I.

    - Locale Destination - It's on Gothard St and Edinger Ave in Huntington Beach. I got samples due to my buddy, so I don't know about the location. Products: Hand made potato chips and tortilla chips. Style: Hawaiian style chips - thicker and crunchier (and a bit greasier due to the longer cooking time for the thicker cut) than usual. I'm not a fan of it. Our "fish guy" told us this was the best chips, so I tried. Price: Extremely expensive for what it is. 3 oz chips for $2.50-2.75 (as the owner corrected it). $4 was what I was told. But even my fish man said it was so expensive. Honestly it's way overpriced. I expected a lot more for this price. Places to get: the shop or gourmet/fancy grocery markets. Taste & crunchiness : It is good but not crazy different from other chips in terms of taste. The biggest and only difference is how hard/crunchy it is. I don't recommend it for elderly people nor people whose mouth is small like me. It's the hardest and whopping jaw killing chips I've ever had in my life. My jaw hurts while writing this review... Definitely not the best chips for me. - Gluttony Expedition - *Tortilla * - Sea salt : It's tasty, but its tortilla is very thick and crunchy. It might be great for dipping, but just munching is kinda hard. - Chili lime : nice flavor but it's hard. *Potato chips * - Salt : Tasty, yet jaw-killing hard/crunchy. Not the best chips like others claimed. - Black pepper: I usually like black pepper chips, the whole experience is disappointing due to the crazy hard crunchiness. - Conqueror's Deduction - It's just too hard/crunchy to eat it. I know I keep repeating it, but my jaw hurts. After a few bites, I stop eating it because it's too hard to eat. My mouth is so small - every dentist of mine cried about it. It tastes good but as a whole, not the best chips for me. I'm not a fan of this thick and crazy hard Hawaiian style chips.

    Out again! Crap!

I get so tired of running out of Rusty's Island Chips! Lol I usually buy from Mike's Deli every week but it just isn't enough. I absolutely love them. Someone complained about the crunch... They are very thick and crunchy but I have no issue with this. I use them to dip into my tuna. Very low in sodium which is also a plus! No gluten, no gmos, cholesterol or trans/saturated fat! Get in my belly!

    Crunch on lunch!

First & Foremost, I LOVE POTATO CHIPS!!! The flavoring on these chips was perfection, and the fact that they're GMO free and 130 calories thrilled me! The ooooonnnllllyyy reason I gave these a 4 out of 5 is because I felt like my teeth were eroding with each crunch (there's a Lot of crunch)....BUT IT WAS WORTH IT! Thanks for giving my college campus a better chip alternative!

    Latest Delivery!

If you think there exists an upper echelon a simple potato chip can never exceed, well...you haven't tried Rusty's! I discovered this brand years ago at a farmer's market and have been a loyal fan ever since!! The dedication the owners put into their hand-made product comes through in the taste and what I'd describe as the perfect chip...the proof is in that every person I share a bag of Rusty's with inevitably asks where can they can get some? I order from the web site where shipping (or chipping ;) is fast and easy. Could not recommend more, there is something different and wonderful about this brand, and again, you might think a chip is just a chip, but Rusty's is beyond! I even bring them to my local favorite sub shop and am "sorry, not sorry" about sneaking them in :) So do yourself a favor as well and support this locally-owned product produced with care...you will 100% become a fan too!!

The people are pretty chill, i was too shy to ask for recs so maybe next time. I went in to take a look and they had the vietnamese fruit salts that I love. The fruit stand part of it only takes cash and they have exotic fruit and precut fruit packaged with the salt like mangosteen and green mango. I couldn't find a chili one, but i just tried the cheapest one and it was some salted peach sort of sweet. Sooo good with oranges. It can be a little pricier for the snacks than of course what they cost abroad, but its quite hard to find what they import so I was very happy to find something new. Also my first time hearing vietnamese edm LOL. A vibe in there for sure

The main "shop" is a market that imports in snacks, fruits, preserved, jarred, canned goods, and more from Vietnam. Lots of things that I have never seen before even in Vietnamese markets. On a day where I wasn't at Disney all day, I think I'll peruse their selection more since I saw some interesting chips that I'd love to try. There's a refrigerated section near the wall next to the line for the Unu Cafe drink section. Was pretty busy because of the cafe, but people were also shopping the market section too.

Long awaited review as I have been coming here for decades. There are so many markets all over…read moreLittle Saigon, however, I keep gravitating here. Seems to me, it is less crowded than other markets. (If I can avoid crowds, I will). It was Tet New Year season and I needed to get a few ingredients for some dishes I planned to cook. My first priority was the fresh oxtail in the meat department. I have gone to many markets for this cut and it seems this is the best place for a ~2 pound tray of mixed size tails. The fat is all trimmed off, as opposed to other markets that leave a fat layer behind that you are paying for. It also depends on if you prefer leaner tails. Next, the produce section. I picked up some cailan (Chinese broccoli). For the most part, the Asian veggies are pretty fresh - since there is a higher turnover rate of Asian veggies in this area. It was good on this day. So many varieties of green veggies, I love it! The fruit section is also pretty impressive. Papayas, guanabana, dragon fruit, pommelo, tangerines, korean pear, manzano bananas,...Not your ordinary apples and oranges. Dry goods include a plethora of rice, including Thai sweet rice, Japanese rice (perfect for sushi rice), red rice (known for high fiber and low glycemic index)... Who likes Chinese Style sausage? Me! It is called Lap Xuong, in Vietnamese. I love making Thai sweet rice and serve with thinly sliced Lap Xuong - my mom fed us kids this often! And yes, they have a good supply of this here, so stock up, it will last forever in the pantry. Vietnam is the world's second largest coffee producer. You will see the crazy amount of coffee products sold here, for example, Vinacafe. Most are packed as individual serving packets which includes cream and sugar. Too convenient for consumption! Also perfect to have in your pantry. You shall be impressed with the chili aisle. Sambal of all kinds. You can make an awesome pot of chili with this heat! Lots of Lunar New Year items too. I am sure there are still some left for purchase if you didn't have a chance to pick some up yet. They do have a liquor department too. Asians can drink iykyk. If you do, please don't drink and drive. Parking is ok, if you go shopping off peak hours. Market is on Beach Boulevard and it could get pretty busy so plan wisely. So enjoy your visit. It is always fun to discover a new product and try something you have never eaten before!
