I've been going to Rusty's for about 5 years without any issues for my inspections until last year and my brakes needed replacing. In having Rusty's replacing them, one of the rotors also needed to be replaced. When getting this years inspected(2021) done on the same auto with less than 1000 miles on the brakes, Rusty's would not pass inspection because the brakes needed replacing again. I questioned them about the brakes that were replaced last year and was told it was due to my driving habits and there were no guarantees. After taking it to PEP Boys for the new brakes and both rotors replaced, I returned to Rusty's with the damage parts and asked about some type of refund. I was told again it was due to my driving habits and I should have taken it to someone else. I would have but I'd only Rusty's for inspections and I blindly trusted them to do good work. Good only for inspections Not recommended for even simple car repairs as there are no guaranteed work. read more

Took my 2012 Camaro I bought last year 2020 in for an inspection, and just like many have said, Rusty is rude, crude, and unprofessional...a real d-bag Apparently didn't like my exhaust on a 2SS with a 6.2 V8...yep idiot it's not going to sound like a pinto! Go here for a cheap, quick state inspection. If you require manners, hello, goodbye, thank you or otherwise, then drive on by. Upon arrival mr red shirt (owner or tech named on the inspection) was chit chatting with another guy who worked there. I had to wait to be acknowledged, to which I informed him that I was wanting to get an inspection. "Insurance!?" Was the only verbal conversation that followed. After that "7bucks" was the only other words spoken to me by the aforementioned Neanderthal, I handed over my cash (cash only for inspections), had to walk inside the shop to get my car (don't think that's OSHA compliant) and hit the road. read more

An Older gentleman, blondish white hair. He sat inside in his chair and never came out to direct me in. I drive on up and walk in the only door I saw. Keep in mind I'm the only customer there. He says, "sheesh, the other door." In a very disrespectful attitude. As he played on the computer. I said sorry about that, yes sir. I close the door to walk around. He doesn't stop. He starts complaining about me being there. I said, "thanks for the attitude, I'll get my inspection somewhere else." He doesn't stop there though. He comes outside, waving me off the lot, screaming and saying rude things to me in front of my 7 year old daughter. Don't go to this place. It's a dump and there are rude. He told me I had to pay before he could inspect it... when i came back he came to inspect my bike, didn't even look at me or the bike just told me that it wasn't going to pass inspection because one of the tires was too worn out.. read more

Rusty will get you in and out without issue. Having a life changing conversation with your car inspector is just not necessary. Yes he is short in conversation, but if you return with kindness instead of being rude, he will help you in any way he can if he has time. I had a light out, to which he looked up the price of the part and gave me a very reasonable labor quote. He was very helpful & nice. Definitely recommend, unless you are looking for a therapist in your mechanic. read more

Rusty's is a great place to get a quick inspection. He is short on conversation because he is so busy. He once took the time to show me how they measure tires for inspection. I've been going there for many years. There are big signs on the left when you pull up that say PARK HERE. You go in the door and wait in line if need be. There are about 3 chairs. You hand him your insurance and keys. He does the inspection and then you pay the $7 cash. Very quick process. read more

I wish there was a way to give 0 or .2 stars. The guy who operates this place, I'm just going to assume his name is Rusty, is so incredibly rude. If you are a hermit introvert who can't stand talking to humans, than this is the place for you. If you have any questions, concerns, or are generally a nice human being, I would strongly encourage you to go somewhere else. He will not a knowledge your existence, answer your questions, or give you any bit of good customer service. He'll probably be on the phone up to his ear when you walk up and stare at you while not having a conversation on said phone then make you wait 5 - 10 minutes before saying "what?", to which you will probably ask him if he could inspect your car, to which he will then continue his conversation on the phone (that's not with a customer) and make you wait a few more minutes before he responds. He does not deserve your time or money. Try somewhere else. And definitely don't go there to rent a Uhaul. They are dirrrrrty. And he doesn't make sure the correct equipment is in there and when you ask him about it, it's your fault and he's not going to help resolve the issue. read more

I have been using Rusty for my. B has been rude, and unsociable. Then ive recommend friends and heard the same stories. I sent my step son up there for a state Inspection and then a major problem arises. He took his 2013 Ford F150 up there to be inspected and Rusty looks at his truck and paid $ 7.00. Then he said " No it wont pass " because of the front window tint. It was the factory tint. So ok no problem. Then he went to county office for tags. Then DMV. Then he went to another inspection place on the what's around me app, and found one close to where he was at at that time. Went in and the female inspector said it all passed. But as she was fixing to write it up the computer said he had failed a inspection from Rustys because of the tint and had blocked him from getting it inspected anywhere else. So he then went to a tint place across the street and had them pulled off the factory tint off front windows. He then went back to Rustys and he cursed, and was unhappy. He voiced his opinion gave him a extremely hard time. Telling my step son that my wife "HAD TO "out of truck, and he said No she dont because all you have to look at my windows to pass it. He said a few more comments derogatory and lifted the red tag and passed it. I will not EVER go back to him. You can talk how you want to but not to or toward my wife and step son.
